FM Lauds Distinguished Relations between Egypt, Belgium
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty praised the distinguished relations between Egypt and Belgium, expressing his aspiration to continue strengthening them towards broader horizons, particularly in the economic, investment, educational and health sectors.
This came during Abdelatty's meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prévot on the sidelines of the African-European Ministerial Meeting held in Brussels.
Abdelatty expressed his hope that Belgian companies, especially those operating in the fields of clean energy and pharmaceuticals, would benefit from the investment guarantees provided by the European Union to Egypt within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two sides.
He stressed the importance of including Egypt among the destinations of Belgian economic missions. He reviewed the economic reforms undertaken by the Egyptian state and the investment incentives available in the Egyptian market.
He also expressed hope for launching trilateral cooperation to implement joint projects in Africa in the field of capacity building, in addition to cooperation in the area of migration through opening pathways for legal migration or seasonal labor, within the framework of integration between the labor markets of both countries.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance Egypt places on the issue of recovering Egyptian antiquities that were taken out of the country illegally, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
He highlighted the significance of antiquities as a vital part of Egypt's historical and cultural heritage and expressed hope for cooperation with the Belgian authorities to work towards their restitution.
The meeting also touched on a number of regional and international issues, foremost among them the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's efforts to provide all forms of support to the residents of Gaza and expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Belgian side to the Palestinians in the Strip.
He stressed the importance of increasing aid to match the scale of needs, given the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in Syria, Sudan, Somalia, and the Red Sea region.
Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of European support in enabling Egypt to address regional challenges, taking into account the interconnection between the security and stability of the Middle East and that of Europe.

It's building public platforms, storytelling pipelines, educational programs, and incentive models that bring inventors out of the shadows and into the center of national development. 'We're not short on talent,' Yoeil says. 'We're short on systems that recognize and reward invention.' Progressio sees a gap in how innovation is defined and supported. Entrepreneurs are coached to pitch and scale, but inventors—those working in materials science, med-tech, food engineering, and software IP—often lack access to legal frameworks, commercialization support, or even cultural recognition. OMM's goal is to flip that script. The KPIs of a Movement This isn't about inspiration alone. 1 Million Minds is built on measurable inflection points. Progressio has identified three historic benchmarks it's working toward: 1. The first Egyptian millionaire inventor, through royalties generated from licensed IP 2. Designed as a national platform for tech transfer and commercialization, the NCTC will focus on IP protection, licensing support, startup assistance, and industry collaboration—particularly in sectors like agriculture, energy, healthcare, and IT. The NCTC is where invention will be translated into viable business. 1 Million Minds is where invention becomes a national cause. Fixing the Chain, Fueling the Future Skeptics may ask whether a country can really build an innovation economy on invention alone. Progressio's bet is that it can—if invention is supported systemically, not sporadically. And in a region where innovation is often imported or licensed in, OMM offers a different thesis: that Egypt has the raw intellectual firepower to lead, not just follow, and that if that power is unlocked at scale, the results won't just be social—they'll be seismic. 42 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in Gaza Strip
CAIRO – 6 June 2025: 42 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip on Friday according to Palestinian media reports. An Israeli fighter jet struck a five-story residential building in Jabalia, northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to dozens more. According to medical sources, three Palestinians were also killed and others wounded after an Israeli combat drone targeted a charging point for cell phones between tents sheltering displaced people to the west of Khan Younis, WAFA reported. A child was also shot dead by Israeli troops near the Al-Saraya detention area in Khan Younis. Another civilian succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous Israeli strike on the city. Israeli strikes have also killed one Palestinian in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis. In addition, eight Palestinians were killed and 61 injured in renewed massacres in Rafah City in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday. The victims were targeted while trying to reach recently established humanitarian aid sites in western Rafah on the first day of Eid Al Adha. Earlier Friday, 10 Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli raid on homes in Jabalia. They were taken to the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.

Interior Min. Participates with Citizens in Celebrating Eid al-Adha
Taarek Refaat Police officers from various security directorates joined citizens in celebrating Eid al-Adha, taking to the streets and squares to offer their congratulations and distribute flowers to passersby and motorists.
