Justin Baldoni slams Ryan Reynolds as Blake Lively's ‘co-conspirator,' rips actor's request to dismiss lawsuit

Fox News04-04-2025
Justin Baldoni referred to Ryan Reynolds as Blake Lively's "co-conspirator" in a Tuesday filing that asked a judge to deny the "Deadpool" actor's motion to be dismissed from Baldoni's $400 million defamation lawsuit.
"Reynolds pretends" that Baldoni's and the Wayfarer Studios legal team's "First Amended Complaint (the 'FAC') fails to set forth any basis for his liability and that he merely acted as a supportive spouse," Baldoni's lawyers wrote in the filing obtained by Fox News Digital. "Not so. The FAC specifically alleges ample facts to support the Wayfarer Parties claims against him, based on both his direct actions and his liability as a co-conspirator."
It went on to say "even in the extremely unlikely event that the Court determines" dismissing Reynolds from the lawsuit is "appropriate, Reynolds is unable to recover his attorneys' fees," saying that Anti-SLAPP laws that protect people from meritless lawsuits don't apply in this case.
The filing added, "In short, the Motion should be denied."
Fox News Digital reached out to reps for Reynolds and Lively for comment.
Baldoni's defamation suit against Lively accuses Reynolds of "defamation, false light invasion of privacy, tortious interference, and civil extortion." False light is an invasion of privacy that portrays someone in an unfair light. Reynolds' team has filed a motion to have the actor removed from the suit.
A spokesperson for Reynolds told People magazine on Thursday, "The main takeaway from the Wayfarer Parties' opposition to Ryan's motion to dismiss their case is that they finally realize the plain defects in their complaint."
"They once again claim defamation without alleging who was defamed, what specifically was said, or how anyone suffered actual harm," the spokesperson continued. "Unlike Mr. Baldoni, who built his brand pretending to be a man who is 'confident enough to listen' to the women in his life, Ryan Reynolds actually is that man, and he will continue to support his wife as she stands up to the individuals who not only harassed her but then have retaliated against her." The spokesperson added, "Under New York law, California law, and indeed in every jurisdiction of the United States this lawsuit not only fails but may result in the Wayfarer Parties covering Ryan's costs and attorneys' fees for bringing such a frivolous case in the first place."
Baldoni's Tuesday filing said that Reynolds' claim that his suit "fails to identify defamatory statements he made fails on its face."
"The FAC alleges that, at least twice, Reynolds stated to WME executives—Baldoni's and Wayfarer's talent agency—that Baldoni is a sexual predator and that, by implication, WME was in business with a sexual predator," the filing said, adding, "These allegations are more than sufficiently specific, identifying the speaker, the listeners, and why, where and when the statements were made."
Baldoni's team in their Tuesday filing also used a quote Reynolds jokingly made last summer while doing press for "Deadpool & Wolverine," in which he said, "I've realized that I'm too big to fail at this point, so I just crush my enemies and drink their blood."
After filing the motion to dismiss last month, Reynolds' lawyers said that Baldoni's entire case against Reynolds "appears to be based on Mr. Reynolds allegedly privately calling Mr. Baldoni a 'predator,' but here's the problem — that is not defamation unless they can show that Mr. Reynolds did not believe that statement to be true. The complaint doesn't allege that. In fact, it suggests the opposite: that Mr. Reynolds genuinely believes Mr. Baldoni is a predator," People magazine reported.
Lively sued Baldoni last December for sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional affliction of emotional distress, negligence and more related to their movie "It Ends With Us," which came out last summer.
The same day Lively filed her federal suit, Baldoni filed a $250 million suit against the New York Times for a December article about the alleged smear campaign he attempted to run against his co-star.
Weeks later, Baldoni then named Lively and Reynolds in a separate $400 million defamation lawsuit in which he accused the Hollywood power couple of attempting to hijack "It Ends With Us" and create their own narrative.
In Baldoni's suit, he claimed Lively took over the edit, and he was essentially locked out of the film. From there, she allegedly threatened not to attend the premiere.
In addition to releasing a website detailing the timeline of events that allegedly occurred, Baldoni's team also shared unedited footage from the set of "It Ends With Us." Both Lively and Baldoni have claimed the footage bolsters their respective claims.
Lively has also filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Justin Baldoni Accused of ‘Harassing' Another Actress Amid Blake Lively Lawsuit

Justin Baldoni's legal troubles have escalated as he is facing fresh claims from another actress. Isabela Ferrer, who appeared in It Ends With Us, has alleged that Baldoni and his legal team are using court proceedings to intimidate her. Isabela Ferrer accuses Justin Baldoni of 'harassing' her Actress Isabela Ferrer, who played the younger Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us, has accused director Justin Baldoni of attempting to 'harass' her through the courts. Her claims come in connection with Baldoni's ongoing legal fight with Blake Lively, who sued him for sexual harassment in 2024. Ferrer first became involved when Lively's attorneys subpoenaed her in February 2025, asking for communications that could support the lawsuit. Soon after, Baldoni's lawyers served her with a separate subpoena and, on August 12, filed a motion stating she had ignored their requests. In response, Ferrer's legal team argued that Baldoni's filing was not a legitimate attempt to gather evidence. (via PEOPLE) The filing states, 'Baldoni made no effort to tailor the subpoena towards the production of new or different materials, demonstrating that the real aim of the Baldoni Subpoena, as well as the pending Motion, is to harass Ms. Ferrer.' Her attorneys further accused Baldoni's company, Wayfarer Studios, of failing to honor her acting contract, which required covering her legal expenses. The filing alleges, 'It Ends, LLC has not honored its obligations.' They said the studio offered to pay only if Ferrer 'confirms that she will 'surrender control.'' Ferrer's lawyers have asked the court not only to reject Baldoni's motion but also to impose sanctions on him. They noted that delayed negotiations about indemnification and repeated legal pressure appeared to be a strategy to create financial pressure. Meanwhile, the larger case continues to escalate. Lively has claimed Baldoni sexually harassed her during the filming of It Ends With Us and later tried to damage her reputation. Baldoni has rejected the allegations and filed counterclaims against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. However, his lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025. The Royal at the Center of Prince Harry and Prince William's Fallout: Author

The Royal at the Center of Prince Harry and Prince William's Fallout: Author originally appeared on Parade. Five years after Prince Harry stepped away from royal life to settle in California, his fallout with Prince William shows no signs of fading. According to a royal author, one particular royal remains at the heart of the ongoing drama. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of the book My Mother and I: The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen, shared her thoughts on the ongoing drama between the brothers with Fox News Digital. She cited one royal family member at the center of the conflict, claiming that William is aware how they appear to be viewed by royal supporters. "The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan," Seward claimed. "She's disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very… damaging to the royal family." "Also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don't like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband's family and dissed her own family." Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 The author added she believes it's "extraordinary" that Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, has not yet met his grandchildren. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are 6 and 4 years old. "I think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here," Seaward continued. "And I think that's a real black mark against Meghan's character." "I think she hasn't been able to embrace… her own family, however much she feels about them. I mean, Harry's never even met her father, which is extraordinary." Prince Harry and Prince William have been estranged for the better part of five years. In 2020, citing safety and intrusion into their public life, Harry and Meghan left their full-time royal roles and moved to the United States. This move was compounded by the couple's public remarks about their exit. They each gave detailed interviews about royal life, shedding a negative light on the monarchy. As the future monarch, William's role is to uphold its image. Therefore, Harry and Meghan's negativity toward the House of Windsor was one of several reasons he cut ties with the couple. The brothers were publicly seen at the same event during King Charles' coronation in 2023. Harry attended with other royal family members while William held a role as his father's liege man, publicly declaring he would "pledge loyalty to [Charles] and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God." Justin Baldoni Responds to Isabela Ferrer's Bullying Claim

Originally appeared on E! Online Justin Baldoni is rebuking Isabela Ferrer's claims. After the It Ends With Us actress accused the director of "harassing" her and drawing "her deeper into litigation and disputes that she has done her best to avoid," following his attempts to subpoena Ferrer, Baldoni's team slammed the Aug. 17 filing. "We write in response to Isabela Ferrer's opposition to the Wayfarer Parties' motion to serve her by alternative means," Baldoni's counsel wrote in the Aug. 18 letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman obtained by E! News. "The opposition is primarily an inappropriate attack upon Mr. Baldoni and his counsel … and irrelevant to whether Ms. Ferrer should be served via alternative means." The filing alleged that Ferrer—who played the younger version of Blake Lively's character Lily Bloom in the Colleen Hoover adaptation—had her attorney Sanford Michelman accept "service of the Subpoena" on her behalf when Lively had issued one in February 2025 amid her and Baldoni's ongoing legal battle. More from E! Online Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's Daughter Daisy Looks So Big in Rare Photo Michelle Williams Confirms She Welcomed Baby No. 4, 3rd With Husband Thomas Kail Jinger Duggar Has Priceless Reaction to Sister Jana Duggar's Pregnancy News "In July 2025, the Wayfarer Parties subpoenaed Ms. Ferrer for documents she either neglected to produce or were not requested by Ms. Lively's subpoena," the letter explained. "The Wayfarer Parties twice requested that Mr. Michelman accept service of their Subpoena." "Mr. Michelman ignored the Wayfarer Parties' requests," it continued. "Instead, Mr. Michelman prepared and filed a robust 'opposition' to the motion for alternative service … without explaining why he refused to accept service of the Wayfarer Parties' Subpoena or why his client is so reticent to testify." Baldoni's attorneys alleged that Ferrer's counsel told them that they should have reached out to her talent agent. Although the letter argued, "Naturally, we deemed Ms. Ferrer's counsel (and not her talent agent) as the appropriate person with whom to communicate concerning the Subpoena." After his team emphasized that it was Lively's team who "first subpoenaed" the 24-year-old, they argued that the Gossip Girl alum "should not be permitted to obtain discovery from Ms. Ferrer, while Ms. Ferrer and her counsel frustrate all effort by the Wayfarer Parties to obtain the discovery critical to the preparation of their defense." Baldoni's attorneys requested that "given the circumstances," they are "willing to stipulate that none of the parties will use any communication to, from or concerning Ms. Ferrer, or any testimony from her, in any manner." E! News has reached out to reps for Lively and Ferrer for comment and has not yet heard back. In Ferrer's opposition to being served by alternative service, which E! News obtained, her attorney accused Baldoni—whom Lively is suing for sexual harassment—and his associates of acting "inappropriately" towards her after she received her subpoena from Lively. Her counsel argued that Baldoni's Aug. 12 motion should be denied because it was brought "without conducting the diligence necessary to support a motion for leave to serve a discovery subpoena on Ms. Ferrer by means other than personal service." The filing alleged that Baldoni's team did not make efforts to "determine Ms. Ferrer's actual residential or business address." Ferrer's counsel stated that after Ferrer reached out to Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios production company to have her legal fees covered per her film contract, she was asked by the company to "relinquish control of her response to the Lively subpoena to Wayfarer before being granted compensation." "From that point forward, Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer," her lawyers alleged in court documents, accusing Baldoni of harassing her after she refused to agree with his team's terms.
