Danny Dyer landed six-figure salary for BBC One show after EastEnders exit
Danny Dyer's career resurgence allowed him to negotiate a six-figure payday for presenting the BBC quiz show The Wall after becoming national treasure while on EastEnders
Since playing Mick Carter in EastEnders, Danny Dyer has fast became one of the UK's most sought after actors. And this may explain why, on the back of his exit from the BBC soap, the once bad boy actor of films including Football Factory, landed himself a whopping six-figure payday when hosting the quiz show, The Wall.
The 47 year old star, who has been submerged in job offers since leaving EastEnders three years ago, has now candidly revealed that he was paid £100,000 to host the TV quiz show. He said: "How much did I get for presenting The Wall? I think I probably got maybe £100,000."
He added: "But, you have to work for it you know. But yeah, that's what I got."
While on EastEnders, the TV and film star secured the hearts of the nation playing Mick due to his heartfelt storylines alongside his on-screen wife, Kellie Bright.
And since viewers saw him lost out at sea in one of the soap's most gripping Christmas storylines, Danny has gone on to adopt roles that have seen him shed his cockney bad boy demeanour, in shows such as Jilly Coopers' Rivals.
But life has not always been as smooth for Danny. Away from the cameras, the relationship with his devoted wife Joanne has gone through its fair share of trouble.
And this was highlighted during the ITV show The Assembly, as he was asked a question about his personal life by a group of young people.
The TV show has also seen stars including David Tenant and singer Jade Thirlwall take centre stage and answer difficult questions.
In one part of the show, a young lady asked Danny about his split from Jo in 2000. Despite reuniting, Danny was more than honest when talking about how their break-up impacted him.
When asked if he still has a joint bank account with his wife after she emptied their money out, he replied: "I was a p***k and she deserved better."
He went on to add: "Sometimes I'd go out, get off my head, take drugs. I wouldn't come home for three days. She had every right to throw me out. She controls everything now."

Amanda Holden took to the airwaves on Thursday morning alongside pal Jamie Theakston and appeared to be naked for their breakfast morning show on Heart FM Amanda Holden seemingly shunned any Ofcom complaints by appearing to be naked on air. She laughed as she said back: "I just looked and went, 'What? Have I forgotten to put my clothes on?'" The camera angle made it look like the 54-year-old had no clothes on, with only a chunky pearl necklace visible. She was, however, also wearing a pale pink strapless dress and was photographed outside of the London studios. As well as Amanda's BGT finale dress complaints following Saturday's show, fellow judge Alesha Dixon's attire was also criticised. The duo, alongside Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli, watched on as the public voted for magician Harry Moulding as their winner. In total, the female judges' outfits received 72 complaints to Ofcom. When contacted by the Mirror, Ofcom said they had received the complaints from viewers, who alleged the star's frocks were "too revealing for a family show". Amanda had stunned in her final outfit for the ITV talent competition after vowing to never tone down her fashion choices. It came after she had received a number of criticisms since the series started. She made sure to pull out all the stops for the star-studded finale, opting for a braless, plunging custom-made white silk gown from Saint Hendrix. She wore her hair slicked back into a bun with several bejewelled clips. Alesha meanwhile, turned heads in a sequin-strewn see-through jump suit, which revealed her underwear. It's far from the first time the pair's looks have been complained about on the show. In July 2017, Amanda wore a plunging see-through Julien Macdonald dress. It went on to be the most complained about TV moment of the year. The mum-of-two joked the incident was a 'national crisis' at the time. She teased in Closer magazine: "I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. I think people should have fun with fashion!" She went on: "I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up."

Royal Ascot is British flat racing's most prestigious event and one of the highlights of the summer social season, with 35 races run over five days at the Berkshire racecourse. Aside from the sport, which features eight Group One races such as the Gold Cup, St James's Palace Stakes and Commonwealth Cup, it is a festival of fashion, hospitality and royal patronage. Last year, the King attended all five days bar Wednesday while the Queen was there for the entire showpiece. Royal Ascot is one of racing's most lucrative meetings with more than £10 million in prize money up for grabs. The two biggest prize pots of the week come in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. When is Royal Ascot? The first day of Royal Ascot is Tuesday, June 17 with the final day of racing on Saturday, June 21. The first race of each day should start at 2.30pm with the last race at 6.15pm, before racegoers shuffle back to Ascot train station or wrestle their way out of one of many car parks. How do I watch it in the UK? Every race of the meeting is being broadcast live on ITV1, with coverage also available on Sky Sports Racing for subscribers. How do I watch in the US?
