In the UK, fans of the show can watch episodes on Channel 5 after Vanessa Feltz takes to the airwaves for her eponymous lunchtime show.
Back in February, it was announced that Lynne McGranger, 72, who plays Irene Roberts in the hit Aussie soap, will be leaving the show.
She made her initial debut on the Australian drama back in January 1993 and is longest-serving female actor on the show.
Now the actress is preparing to say goodbye to the show as she is set to embark on her tragic farewell storyline.
Viewers who have tuned into the soap in recent weeks would have seen the character experience significant lapses in her memory.
This includes one concerning incident where she nearly left baby Archie at home when she forgot her babysitting duties.
Taking support from her friend John Palmer (Shane Withington), she seeks help from Dr Bree Cameron (Juliet Godwin).
When she goes for the medical consultation, she is forced to face the gut-wrenching reason behind her behaviour.
The Bay will have to rally round the beloved resident as she faces her biggest challenge.
This will reportedly build towards an episode which some say will 'go down in Australian television history.'
Home and Away star, 45, has barely aged a day in 36 years since playing rebellious teenager on soap and drink drive arrest
At the time of her initial announcement, the 72-year-old explained: "After almost 33 years in my dream role and working everyday with people who I love, respect and whom I now consider family, it's bittersweet to be closing the chapter on what has been the best and longest gig of my life.
"I am forever grateful to the best production crew in the world and to our genius writers – whose doors are always open – for everything they have done for Irene over the past 33-odd years.
"And I am so proud of the storyline which will see Irene out of the Bay.
"Above all, a massive, heartfelt thank you to the fans for your continued love and support."

Neighbours and Coronation Street legends unite for new 'twisted' drama

Neighbours icon Jackie Woodburne is set to join forces with Coronation Street royalty Kym Marsh in a new Channel 5 drama. The prospect of not having Ramsay Street favourite and acting powerhouse Jackie on our screens isn't worth thinking about – and thankfully we don't have to as the Susan Kennedy star is already preparing for her new role just weeks after wrapping production on the Aussie soap for the second time. And as for Kym, who is reportedly stepping away from her Nicky Walters role in Waterloo Road, fans won't have to wait long to see her again. The soap titans have joined the cast of Imposter, a new four-part drama set in Australia that will see a family at war over a hotel when mum Helen refuses to sell up, despite her children demanding that she does so. The soapy plot twists and turns follow, with Helen having had a secret daughter named Amanda, who she gave up for adoption decades earlier. When Amanda unexpectedly shows up, Helen is delighted – but this is the just the beginning of what's set to unfold. The official synopsis tells us: 'The lucrative hotel is the ultimate prize and a twisted scheme soon spirals into betrayal and ultimately, murder.' Consider us intrigued and excited already. The show will be filmed in Victoria, and at the Fremantle Studios in Nunawading this summer. That means that we may well see some familiar Neighbours locations pop up! Just three years ago, Neighbours was axed by Channel 5, though returned to screens in 2023 when Amazon's ad-supported free service Freevee swooped in to rescue it. The daily escapades of Erinsborough residents thrilled fans for another two years before the decision was made by Amazon (in the wake of Freevee's closure) not to renew Neighbours for another season. Production wrapped on the long-running Aussie soap – a staple of daytime TV in the UK for 40 years – earlier this month, with the final episode slated to drop on December 11th. Discussing her time on the serial, Jackie said: 'It's impossible to measure the gratitude I feel for the gift of 30 years on Neighbours. More Trending 'To do so I would have to calculate the number of extraordinary cast and crew I have been privileged to work with, count the number of laughs I have shared with them, measure the pride I feel for the diverse, dramatic (and sometimes outrageous!) storytelling we have all been a part of. 'We are the best version of 'family'. It has been a wild ride into a happy life. [I] wouldn't change it for quids!' View More » This article was originally published on 21st July 2025. Death in Paradise star favourite to play lead detective in new Benidorm-based spin-off series

EXCLUSIVE: Channel 5 has announced a new Death in Paradise-style series called Death in Benidorm - and a former Death in Paradise star is the favourite to play the lead detective Neil Morrissey, known for his role as a murder suspect in Death in Paradise, is currently tipped to be the lead detective in the spin-off series, Death in Benidorm. ‌ Channel 5 unveiled plans for the new series earlier this week, which bears a striking resemblance to Death in Paradise but is set in Benidorm. ‌ The channel has yet to reveal when the series will air or who will star in it. ‌ However, the plot for Death in Benidorm revolves around Detective Dennis Crown, who "has swapped the chaos of the UK for a quieter life running a bar in Benidorm". The series teases: "But when tourists start turning up dead, he's reluctantly drawn back into detective work-egged on by his barmaid Rosa, a crime drama superfan," reports the Express. "With Dennis's real-world experience and Rosa's encyclopaedic TV knowledge, each episode sees the duo tackling a new murder in paradise, whilst trying to remain on the right side of the local Spanish cops." While no official announcements have been made, bookmakers have been speculating about who could play the lead detective, and Neil is the favourite. Neil has starred in popular shows such as Men Behaving Badly, Death in Paradise, and Line of Duty. ‌ He played murder suspect, Disco Biscuit, also known as Duncan Roberts, in the BBC drama starring Kris Marshall. Mike Reading, spokesperson at Betway, stated: "Neil Morrissey is the current favourite to be cast as the lead detective in Death in Benidorm. As a household name with a strong track record in other shows, Morrissey brings the right mix of humour, emotional depth and recognisability, if the producers are aiming to turn heads and draw in ratings." He went on to say: "Hot on his heels is Mark Benton, a Channel 5 favourite who could easily fit into the role of Dennis Crown. Benton's everyman appeal and proven charm in Shakespeare & Hathaway would slot perfectly into the tone of a light-but-meaningful coastal crime drama. "For now, though, the latest odds suggest it's Morrissey who looks most likely to be sipping sangria while solving sun-drenched secrets!". Death in Benidorm will air on Channel 5.

Prince Andrew's 'tacky and distasteful' move slammed by royal after spiralling costs

The late Queen Elizabeth allowed Prince Andrew and Fergie the chance to build their own royal home, but things quickly spiralled as the lavish residence cost more than anticipated When Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson tied the knot in Westminster Abbey in 1986, they were showered with thousands of luxury gifts from the A-list celebrities who were invited to their star-studded nuptials. Among the presents they received to celebrate their marriage was the promise from the late Queen Elizabeth to have their own royal residence. ‌ After the newlyweds toured countless of existing properties all around the country, they decided they would build their own home to service all of their wants and needs. Thanks to a generous cash gift from the Queen of £250,000, the couple started construction on their infamous Berkshire home named Sunninghill Park. ‌ ‌ However, while construction of the 30-bedroom home was still ongoing, the late Queen was forced to put her foot down and cut off Andrew and Fergie from overspending on the lavish property, long before their first marital home had been built. After they very quickly hit their quarter of a million pound budget, the former monarch was at breaking point with her son, and tightened her purse strings to stop their excessive spending. On a new Channel 5 documentary, titled Fergie, Andrew & The Scandal of SouthYork, royal author Andrew Lownie recalled the moment that the late Queen became fed up with the over the top spending on the massive property. ‌ Lownie said: 'The Queen, I think, eventually put her foot down and said, you know, this is crazy. At that point, they hadn't built the swimming pool and the tennis court, and who knows whether the helicopter pad was there then either.' Talk TV's Royal editor Sarah Hewson further explained that when the couple maxed out their budget in the middle of 1990, one year after construction began, the Palace refused to pay anymore money to the grand home. ‌ Hewson said: 'By this stage, Sunninghill Park was proving to be a financial headache, in particular, for the Queen, notoriously financially prudent who was having to foot the ever-escalating bills.' Instead of accepting the fact that they had to work within their budget to complete their marital home, the Duchess of York began exploring other avenues to fund their dream home, eventually turning to Hello! Magazine to do a photoshoot. ‌ The 45-page magazine spread, which was the first time a royal couple had turned to the press for such an insight, earned Andrew and Sarah a further £200,000 to finish their home, while also welcoming a flood of criticism from the public over their design choices. Many were quick to criticise the decor of the house, which included countless teddy bears, cushions with trite slogans, and personalised toilet roll holders including one that sang God Save The Queen. 'Fergie had a very enterprising idea that she would do a photoshoot for Hello!' said Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine. 'Nobody in the royal family had ever done a shoot like that." ‌ 'Although the Queen never commented publicly on it, she was less than pleased,' added Hewson. 'She saw it as lacking decorum and that it was an invasion of privacy. Prince Philip, he just thought it was downright tacky and distasteful.' In October 1990, the Yorks finally moved into their extravagant home, throwing an enormous housewarming party with a jungle theme. ‌ Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced their separation in 1992, finalising their divorce in 1996, and putting Sunninghill Park on the market in 2002 for a whopping £12 million. The house sat on the market for five years before being purchased, falling into a state of disrepair. Despite being divorced, the couple still live together at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate. The disgraced Duke of York, who has no apparent income, was reportedly told last year to leave the 30-room Royal Lodge by the King. There were claims Andrew could not meet the £400,000-a-year upkeep of the 19th century, Grade II-listed property, which has a pool and 90 acres of land. But so far, Andrew has refused to budge from the Queen Mother's former home in Windsor Great Park.
