Mika Salamanca dedicates viral childhood videos to OFW mother
Among the clips circulating are her performances of 'Sino Nga Ba Siya' by Sarah Geronimo and 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus.
In a media conference held Thursday for the Sparkle housemates of PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition, Salamanca revealed that the videos were originally recorded for her mother, Mommy Bambie, who was working overseas as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) during her childhood.
''Yung mom ko po kasi ay isang OFW. Hindi po siya nakakapunta sa lahat ng mga events namin sa school. Wala po siya every time,' she said.
Salamanca added that her older sister and cousins used to film her school performances so they could be sent to her mother abroad.
Salamanca shared that she is working on her debut album, which will include a cover of 'Sino Nga Ba Siya.'
She won PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition alongside fellow Sparkle artist Brent Manalo.

Heart Evangelista defends Marian Rivera from basher's comparison
Heart Evangelista came to the defense of fellow Kapuso actress Marian Rivera after a netizen compared them in a TikTok post. On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Heart shared photos with friends Anne Curtis and Solenn Heussaff taken during the store opening of a French luxury brand. In the comments section, one user threw shade by writing: 'Ganito ang class Marian—sa kilos, sa salita, at sa pag-uugali.' Heart took notice of the comment and replied, 'Wag ganon. Marian is a woman of her own.' Netizens praised Heart for her graceful and respectful response, with many expressing joy over what they believe is a sign that any past tension between the two stars has finally been resolved. More than a decade has passed since Marian and Heart figured in a reported conflict during the filming of their 2011 movie Temptation Island. Rumors of tension first surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) and in blind items, sparking speculations of a rift between the two. However, Heart denied the issue at the time in a tweet dated June 11, 2011, where she wrote: 'Let's not make a big fuss. Marian and I are okay. Showbiz is showbiz so, Heartworld, wag na tayo mag-away-away.'

Janella Salvador linked to breakup of Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf
Kapamilya actress-singer Janella Salvador is currently trending on social media after being linked to the recent breakup of Kapuso actress Klea Pineda and internet personality Katrice Kierulf. During her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last Friday, July 18, 2025, Klea confirmed that her more than three-year same-sex relationship with Katrice has ended. She said they broke up a month ago, describing it as a mutual decision, as they were no longer helping each other grow. When asked if cheating was involved, Klea firmly denied it. 'Sobrang proud akong sabihin yon na no. Hindi ko kayang gawin yon kay Kat. Kasi masyado kong mahal si Kat… so no,' she said. Despite the denial of infidelity, online speculation intensified after screenshots went viral showing Katrice liking comments on TikTok and Facebook that implied cheating. One netizen commented on a TikTok video posted by Katrice on July 19, saying, ''Follow na kita kase wala na yung cheater.' While Katrice didn't respond, she liked the comment. Another user directly asked, 'Si Janella S. po ba?' Katrice liked that comment too, along with another that read, 'Once you like it Katkat, then confirm na si JS nga yung other party.' One netizen also claimed to have seen Janella and Klea together in Bonifacio Global City the previous week, before news of the breakup surfaced. Both actresses are part of the upcoming Cinemalaya film Open Endings, along with Jasmine Curtis-Smith and OPM singer Leanne Mamonong. Janella has been open about her support for the LGBTQIA+ community, which has led to repeated speculation about her sexuality. However, she has never publicly confirmed or denied anything about her orientation. As of now, Salvador has yet to issue a statement regarding the controversy.
