Latin American Fashion Awards announce global Jury for 2025 edition
The 2025 panel blends returning industry figures, including Elle US editor-in-chief Nina García, Italian fashion journalist Anna dello Russo, CFDA chief executive Steven Kolb, and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana president Carlo Capasa, with newcomers such as BoF founder Imran Amed, designer and sustainability advocate Gabriela Hearst, ZⓈONAMACO art fair founder Zélika García, and creative director Juan Costa Paz. Together, they will determine winners across 14 categories spanning designers, stylists, photographers, fashion filmmakers, and sustainability initiatives.
'The Latin American Fashion Awards highlight underrepresented talent and celebrate cultural diversity, making the industry more reflective of the world we live in,' said Kolb. 'The opportunity to elevate visionary creatives and participate in a movement that celebrates Latin American excellence is what draws me to this project.'
While the Awards are framed as a celebration of cultural heritage, their strategic importance lies in the commercial leverage they can generate for regional talent. Latin American designers are increasingly visible on international runways, both under their own labels and at the helm of European houses—yet many still face structural barriers to scaling production, accessing distribution networks, and securing investment.
A cultural and commercial showcase
The Awards' format, combining high-profile ceremonies, curated cultural programming, and networking events, functions as both a cultural showcase and a market access accelerator. By placing winners into a dedicated growth programme during Milan Fashion Week in September 2026, organisers are signalling a deliberate push to bridge creative recognition with tangible retail opportunities.
For luxury and premium retailers, the event represents a scouting ground for new labels with distinctive aesthetic identities and authentic narratives—qualities increasingly valued by consumers seeking alternatives to homogenised global fashion. For designers, it is an entry point into a supply chain that can convert creative visibility into shelf space, collaborations, and licensing deals.
With jury members drawn from publishing, design, retail, and sustainability, the Awards are positioning themselves less as a regional gala and more as an influential node in the global fashion economy, one capable of shaping trends, influencing buyer behaviour, and opening new routes to market for Latin American fashion.

Timothee Chalamet attempts to charm Gwyneth Paltrow in Marty Supreme trailer
The Wonka actor, who said he was 'in pursuit of greatness' himself after a win at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards earlier this year, dons a moustache and glasses to play the ping pong player. At the start of the trailer he is seen on the phone, speaking to Paltrow's movie star character. 'I saw you in the lobby yesterday, well, I've never talked to an actual movie star, you know I'm something of a performer too,' he tells her. He then asks her to look at a copy of the Daily Mail and directs her to a picture of him alongside the caption 'the chosen one'. Across the two-minute trailer are clips of Marty getting out of an aeroplane, playing at ping-pong tournaments and throwing a bin during what looks to be a match. In another scene, he says: 'I have a purpose and if you think that's some sort of blessing, it's not. 'It means I have an obligation to see a very specific thing through and with that obligation comes sacrifice.' Elsewhere, US rapper Tyler, The Creator is seen driving in a car with Marty and pushing his forehead in another clip. Other supporting cast members include Fam star Odessa A'zion, Canadian TV personality Kevin O'Leary, US filmmaker Abel Ferrara, and Saturday Night Fever actress Fran Drescher. Filmmaker Safdie is known for directing Good Time (2017), with Robert Pattinson, as well as Uncut Gems (2019), starring Adam Sandler and Julia Fox. Hollywood actor Chalamet, 29, has starred in films including Call Me By Your Name (2017), Little Women (2019), and Dune (2021), and won the leading actor prize at the SAG Awards in February for his role playing Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown. Marty Supreme will be released on Christmas Day 2025.

Timothee, 29, has been transformed for the role as he dons a moustache and glasses. The Wonka star said he was 'in pursuit of greatness' himself after a win at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards earlier this year. It comes after Liam Neeson's son reacts to his dad's romance with Pamela Anderson. In the trailer for Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme, Timothee can be seen on the phone, speaking to Gwyneth's movie star character. 'I saw you in the lobby yesterday, well, I've never talked to an actual movie star, you know I'm something of a performer too,' he told her. Across the two-minute video are clips of Marty getting out of an aeroplane, playing at ping-pong tournaments and throwing a bin during a match. In another scene, he said: 'I have a purpose and if you think that's some sort of blessing, it's not. Marty Supreme will be released on Christmas Day 2025. It's not just Timothee's work that has grabbed headlines, as his romance with Kylie Jenner came as a surprise to fans. The unlikely couple were first linked in April 2023 after reports surfaced that they had been spending time together. They made their first public appearance as a couple in September that year at Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour in Los Angeles, where they were photographed kissing and laughing together in the VIP section. Since then, the couple have kept their relationship relatively low-key, occasionally being photographed on outings but avoiding public commentary about one another. However, some fans have grown concerned about the status of the relationship after Kylie shared a series of revealing bikini snaps. The Kylie Cosmetics mogul, 28, stunned in a barely-there leopard print bikini earlier this month. Over the past month, fans have noted the absence of any new images of the pair together, with Kylie also posting a series of Instagram Stories featuring melancholy song lyrics which have further fuelled rumours of a split. She shared a photo with a glass of wine and added the Jeff Buckley classic Lover, You Should've Come over to her post. In the chorus, the Hallelujah legend sings: "Lover, you should've come over / 'Cause it's not too late." One fan rushed to X to share a screenshot of the breakup songs and wrote: "I hope Kylie and Timothee are doing good." Another, who was hopeful that no split added: "They look so good together. I hope they get married."

Trump to headline 'anti-woke' awards honoring George Strait, Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor and KISS
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday he would host the upcoming Kennedy Center awards, as he unveiled the honorees at a press conference. Actor Sylvester Stallone, the rock band KISS, country music legend George Strait and singer Gloria Gaynor were selected as the nominees as well as the British actor Michael Crawford. The president said he was 'about 98 percent involved' in the selection process. 'I turned down plenty. They were too woke. I had a couple of wokesters,' he said, about the proposed nominees. The president said he did not want to host the award ceremony, but the new Kennedy Center board insisted - especially his chief of staff Susie Wiles. Trump said the country was tired of award ceremonies like the Academy Awards because they were too 'woke.' 'Look at the Academy Awards. It gets lousy ratings. Now it's all woke. All they do is talk about how much they hate Trump, but nobody likes that. They don't watch anymore,' he said. Trump seized control of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after taking office for his second term, appointing himself as the chairman and appointing fourteen new members to the board. The president was joined by members of the Kennedy Center board appointed by Trump including his White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Senator Lindsey Graham, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Director of Presidential Personnel Sergio Gor and Richard Grenell - the interim executive director of the Kennedy Center. He praised Stallone, a supporter of his, as one of the best actors of his generation. 'Nobody else could have done what he did. They tried and it didn't work out too well,' he said pointing to the films Rambo and Rocky as monumental achievements. 'I'll never forget I was a young guy and I went to see a thing called 'Rambo,' he recalled. 'I said, "This movie is phenomenal. What the heck." That turned out to be a monster.' Trump praised Crawford as 'an international sensation' for playing 'one of the greatest roles in the history of Broadway' as the Phantom of the Opera. 'Nobody did it like him,' he said. Trump described Gaynor as 'one of the most revered singer of the American disco era,' praising her song, 'I Will Survive' as an 'unbelievable song. 'I have heard it, like everyone else here, thousands of times. And it is one of those few that get better every time you hear it,' he said. 'And no one can sing it like her.' He revealed that he always wanted a Kennedy award, calling them one of the 'most prestigious' awards in show business. 'Next year we'll honor Trump, okay?' he joked.
