Nothing's Essential Space gets new updates

GSM Arena5 days ago
Nothing's Phone (3) series comes with an AI-powered hub called Essential Space, designed to help you organize your daily tasks. It can be quickly accessed with a single click of the Essential Key, which is located on the right side of the Phone (3) series smartphones. Well, Nothing has announced a few updates for the Essential Space, which should make it more useful to the users.
First is the Google Calendar integration, which allows users to automatically sync their to-do lists created in Essential Space with their Google Calendar.
Next up is Editable Memory, allowing you to review and edit the summary written by AI.
Nothing also announced a couple of improvements for the Essential Recorder, with the first one being that the summaries of meetings, interviews, and conversations generated with AI are now editable.
Recorder summaries are also shareable now, allowing users to share them as an image, PDF, or Markdown with anyone.
These updates don't require a Nothing OS upgrade. All you need to do is connect to Wi-Fi, and Essential Space will update automatically via the Google Play Store. And if auto-update is disabled, you can update Essential Space manually through the Google Play Store. Nothing Phone (3) 5G
However, it's worth noting that the Essential Recorder updates are currently only available for the Nothing Phone (3), with "support for other Nothing phones with Essential Key coming soon."

Redmi 15 5G specs leak: 6.9" 144Hz display, huge battery and a surprising chipset

We've been seeing leaks for a 4G-connected Redmi 15C over the last couple of weeks. Now info on a 5G model has surfaced with better than expected specs. The Redmi 15 5G is said to feature a 6.9' 1080p+ 144Hz display. Previous Redmi models commonly had 720p+ resolution, so this is a welcome upgrade. The high refresh rate is the cherry on top (usually, we see 120Hz). There's more – the phone will allegedly be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. That too is higher than normal as the Redmi number series typically uses Snapdragon 4-series chips for its 5G models (e.g. Redmi 13 5G and Redmi 14C 5G featured Snapdragon 4 Gen 2). It's a 6nm chip, so it's nothing too advanced, but it's still a class above the usual silicon we see in these phones. The chipset will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone will launch with the tagline 'One Charge. Two days. Zero Worries.' and it justifies that with a massive 7,000mAh battery. Only two Xiaomi phones have a higher capacity – the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and Redmi K80 Ultra, both of which are high-end models. The charge speed is on the low side at just 33W. That's going to take a while to fill all 7,000mAh, but at least you'll only have to do it once every couple of days. The leak reveals additional detail, like a 50MP main camera joined only by a 2MP helper on the back, plus a fairly basic 8MP selfie camera. On the plus side, NFC is supported, which isn't always the case in some markets. Redmi 15 5G leaked specs Speaking of, the price is given as 'RM 699-RM 750', which reveals that this info comes from Malaysia. The price converts to $165-$180, by the way. For now, there is no information on when Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi 15 5G. Given all the leaks, we think that the Redmi 15C 4G is just around the corner, but these could have separate launches. Nothing might be forced to diversify its smartphone offering

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro vs. Nothing Phone | Image credit: PhoneArena Despite the fact that it doubles its annual revenue to more than $500 million and crossed $1 billion in lifetime sales last year, Nothing doesn't seem to content with what its phones sales look like on paper. Nothing plans to introduce new family of phones that will be sold alongside the company's already established 'Pro' lineup. Tipster Yogesh Brar claims Nothing is considering adding 'Lite' and/or 'T' branded phones to their lineup because 'Pro' models aren't enough to boost the company's revenue to healthy levels. Looks like Nothing could be adding 'Lite' or 'T' branded phones to their lineup.. Pro models are just not cutting it.. — Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) July 22, 2025 The rumor comes as a big surprise considering that Nothing already has a sub-brand specialized in entry-level smartphones: CMF by Nothing. The new Nothing Lite phones are likely to compete directly with the CMF lineup, unless the UK-based company makes them a bit more appealing hardware-wise. As far as the possible 'T' branded phones that Nothing is reportedly considering, these are more likely to succeed without cannibalizing any of the company's other smartphones. Typically, a 'T' branded phone is a more compact flagship, at least that's how OnePlus tagged their smaller top-tier phones. Assuming Nothing will do the same for its new family, it means fans of the brand will have the option to buy a compact flagship made by their favorite has a few options to diversify its lineup of smartphones, but we don't know for certain whether or not the UK-based company is even considering that, at least until more tipster chime in with more information on the matter. CMF Phone Pro 2 | Image credit: PhoneArena Nothing has been criticized for the price of its latest flagship, the Phone (3), which might be one of the reasons the company plans to offer customers a cheaper flagship. It remains to be seen how Nothing will name it, but the choices – Nothing Phone (3) T vs. Phone (3) Lite, don't seem too catchy. They're also quite unoriginal, so I sincerely hope Nothing finds a better naming scheme for its other smartphones in case this rumor proves to be accurate.

Amazon just bought the $50 wearable that never stops listening

Big tech is all-in on AI, and Amazon is no exception. After revamping Alexa with AI smarts, Amazon's latest move is an acquisition – it's buying Bee, a startup behind a wearable that records everything the wearer says. The deal hasn't officially closed yet and the terms are under wraps, but Bee's entire team has been offered spots at Amazon. – Maria de Lourdes Zollo, Bee co-founder, July 2025 Bee's main product is the Bee Pioneer, a Fitbit-style bracelet priced at $49.99 with a $19/month subscription, plus an Apple Watch app. The idea is a personalized AI assistant that passively learns by listening to all your conversations and activities. You can mute it anytime, but otherwise, it captures everything you say or do, then summarizes your day, suggests tasks or recalls past details. Video credit – Bee Other startups like Rabbit and Humane AI tried similar AI-powered wearables but didn't catch on. Bee's affordable price makes it more accessible to anyone curious about AI without dropping a ton of cash. However, of course, a device recording nonstop raises privacy and security flags. Different companies handle data and voice recordings differently and Bee says users can delete their data anytime. The company claims audio isn't stored or used for AI training, though the AI does keep learned info to function as your assistant. Bee also promised to only record voices of people who consent verbally and is working on features to set boundaries – like pausing recording based on topics or location. It is also pushing for on-device AI processing, which is safer privacy-wise than cloud-based. But it's still unclear if these privacy policies will hold once Bee becomes part of Amazon, a company known for a mixed track record on user data privacy. The always-listening nature brings back memories of Amazon's privacy issues a few years ago, when employees were caught reviewing Alexa recordings – including accidental ones. And Amazon's had hits and misses with wearables. It still sells Echo Frames smart glasses but shut down its Halo health tracker in 2023. However, Bee's AI angle fits right into Amazon's push with Alexa+ generative AI. Still, while Amazon is betting big on AI wearables with Bee, whether it's a game-changer or privacy headache remains to be seen.
