Man wins $2 million on lottery scratcher sold at this Alameda gas station
Just last month, two other Bay Area residents took home millions from winning scratcher tickets bought in Mill Valley and Santa Rosa.
Other winning tickets announced this week by the California Lottery were sold in SoCal.
ALAMEDA, Calif. - A lucky Bay Area lottery player won $2 million on a scratcher ticket bought at an Alameda gas station, the California Lottery announced this week.
Renato Escudero bought the Instant Prize Crossword scratcher from an ARCO located at 1260 Park Street.
He is one of five recent winners highlighted by the California Lottery on Thursday.

The other four winning tickets were purchased in Southern California, in Cathedral City, Costa Mesa, Buena Park and Inglewood.
Just last month, two Bay Area residents took home millions from winning scratcher tickets bought in Mill Valley and Santa Rosa.
In December, a lottery ticket sold in Shasta County matched the six winning Mega Millions numbers for $1.22 billion.

Tickets from 2 Miami-Dade Publix stores and a Sedano's shared a lottery jackpot
On a day of Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Jackpot Triple Play and Fantasy 5 drawings, all the South Florida luck was packed into one drawing and into Miami-Dade supermarkets. That drawing wasn't the Mega Millions, which will have a $198 million jackpot for Friday's drawing. Monday's first drawing, the Fantasy 5 midday draw, came up 2, 3, 18, 21 and 33. That matched a Quick Pick ticket bought at a West Miami-Dade Sedano's, 12175 SW 26th St., and tickets bought at Publix stores on Southwest 152nd Street — Country Walk at 13735 SW 152nd St., and Corsica Square, 15771 SW 152nd St. The three-way split made each ticket worth $17,141. These tickets have to be cashed at a Florida Lottery main office or a district office, which are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Miami district office is at 14621 Oak Ln. in Miami Lakes and can be reached at MIARC@ or 305-364-3080. Appointments can be made, but aren't necessary.

McDonald's Franchisee Arcos Dorados Sees Growth Driven By Digital Sales Despite Brazil Margin Pressures
Arcos Dorados Holdings Inc. (NYSE:ARCO) shares are trading higher on Wednesday. The company reported second-quarter earnings per share of 11 cents, beating the analyst consensus estimate of 7 cents. Quarterly sales of $1.142 billion (+2.8% year over year) outpaced the Street view of $1.137 billion. Revenues grew 14.9% at constant Dorados Holdings is the master franchise of the fast food restaurant chain McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) in 20 countries and territories across Latin America and the Caribbean. Systemwide comparable sales rose 12.1% year-over-year, while digital channel sales grew 7.9%, accounting for over 60% of total sales in the quarter. View more earnings on ARCO Adjusted EBITDA in the quarter under review declined to $110.111 million, compared with $118.782 million in the year-ago period, mainly due to margin pressure in Brazil from higher beef costs this year. Adjusted EBITDA Margin contracted to 9.6% from 10.7%. The company exited the quarter with cash and equivalents worth $147.052 million, higher than $135.064 million as of December 31, 2024. The company opened 20 Experience of the Future (EOTF) restaurants in the quarter. By the end of the second quarter, the company's Loyalty Program was active in 67% of all restaurants in its footprint.
