Gaurav Taneja recalls his learning from his Shark Tank India 4's pitch, says 'It taught me how to handle rejection on a big stage'

Gaurav Taneja , a pilot-turned-bodybuilder-turned-YouTuber-turned-entrepreneur, found himself in the centre of a controversy during his recent appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4. The popular video producer, also known as Flying Beast , was met with tough love from the Sharks as he pitched his protein supplement startup Beast Life . They grilled him not only on business numbers but also on his entrepreneurial priorities. The pitch became contentious as Sharks Aman Gupta , Vineeta Singh , and Anupam Mittal pointed out that Gaurav had not revealed critical data, such as his earnings from his enormous YouTube presence or the existence of another culinary company, Rosier. His focus on delegation rather than direct involvement did not go down well with the panel either. Gaurav has now spoken out on Zero1's podcast, offering his perspective on the Shark Tank India's pitch. He said, "A lot happened at Shark Tank, and I was confused—why were they so against me?" he said, recalling how his business style, which leans heavily on team-based execution, was perceived as a red flag. 'If a customer complains, I assign the issue to my team. Of course, I delegate—I can't personally track every order. " He further revealed he was baffled when the sharks asked him whether he would shut down his channel, "They told me, 'You aren't shutting down Flying Beast?' I thought that was ridiculous. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 35 & Earning? That's where the visibility and initial customer trust came from." Gaurav further got candid about his entrepreneurial journey , "It wasn't handed to me. I've had sleepless nights, taken 4 a.m. flights, and built a distribution network from scratch. There's been blood, sweat, and hustle." His biggest learning from Shark Tank India is, "More than business, Shark Tank taught me how to handle rejection on a big stage. How to stay quiet when needed, take criticism, and go back to work even harder."
