Reportedly, Mrunal Thakur's busy schedule down South is what brought her and Dhanush together.
Speculations are rife that South star Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating. Recently, the actors were spotted at the premiere of the latter's latest release, Son Of Sardaar 2. Prior to this, Mrunal's presence at the wrap party of Dhanush's upcoming Hindi film, Tere Ishq Mein, also raised eyebrows. And as per a post on Reddit, the duo even has a joint playlist on Spotify. Seems like there's no smoke without fire and now, News18 Showsha has some exclusive scoop on the alleged lovebirds!
Reportedly, Mrunal's busy schedule down South is what brought her and Dhanush together. A well-placed source tells us, 'Yes, it's true that they are dating. But it's too new and they've no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they're unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they're quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts."
The source further adds, 'The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it's during an event down south where she met Dhanush." The friendship, reportedly, blossomed into something deeper and now, they're in love.
The source goes on to state that Mrunal and Dhanush's closeness and bond caught the eyes of onlookers even during the premiere of Kajol's last theatrical release, Maa, in June in Mumbai. Further, Dhanush's name in Mrunal's guest list at the time of the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2 cemented the speculations. If this is true, it would be interesting to see if these alleged lovebirds will be sharing screen space in a film soon.
On a related note, Mrunal has never publicly spoken about any of her relationships. A while ago, rumour mills were abuzz with stories that the Love Sonia and Super 30 actor is dating rapper Badshah. However, he denied these reports by taking to his Instagram stories and stating, 'Dear internet, sorry to disappoint you yet again, but jaisa aap soch rahe hain, waisa nahi hai (sic)."
As for Dhanush, he was previously married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for 18 years before they announced their separation in 2022. They officially filed for divorce in April 2024 and were legally granted separation in November that year. The former couple met on the set of his 2003 film, Kadhal Kondaen. They share two sons – Yatra and Linga.

Kajol Channels Tanuja On 50th Birthday, Greets Paps In Classic Black And White Saree

Kajol turned 50 on August 5 and looked like a spitting image of her mother Tanuja as she greeted paps in a white and black saree with a retro hairdo. Kajol turned 50 on Tuesday, August 5, and marked the milestone with grace, style and nostalgia. The actress stepped out of her Mumbai residence to greet the paparazzi waiting outside, and her look immediately caught attention. Draped in a classic white saree with a shimmering black border and a black blouse, Kajol bore a striking resemblance to her legendary mother, veteran actress Tanuja. Her look was completed with a retro middle-parted ponytail and minimal makeup, allowing her natural features to shine. She wore statement earrings and a ring, while keeping her accessories subtle. Kajol's warm smile and confident wave to the cameras made fans nostalgic for the golden era of cinema with many calling her a spitting image of Tanuja from her younger days. The visual homage to her mother didn't go unnoticed, and social media was quick to draw comparisons, with fans posting side-by-side images of Tanuja in her youth and Kajol's birthday look. Earlier in the day, Kajol's husband, actor Ajay Devgn, took to Instagram to post a birthday message filled with love and humour. Sharing two monochrome photos of Kajol — one from her youth and another recent click — Ajay wrote, 'Could say a lot but you would still roll your eyes. So… happy birthday, favourite Kajol." In February, Kajol had also shared a birthday post for Ajay, joking, 'All the cool people were born in August, but we don't mind wishing you a happy birthday 😉 …. thank u for always being older than me." Kajol and Ajay Devgn tied the knot in 1999 and are parents to two children – Nysa and Yug. On the work front, Kajol was last seen in the supernatural thriller Maa, while Ajay's latest release Son of Sardaar 2 hit theatres recently. Kajol's upcoming project Maharagni: Queen of Queens is also generating buzz. First Published: August 05, 2025, 22:33 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Vivek Agnihotri breaks silence on multiple FIRs filed against The Bengal Files: 'They are challenging our guts, courage'

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is facing mounting legal heat ahead of the release of his upcoming film 'The Bengal Files'. In a video statement, Agnihotri revealed that multiple FIRs have been filed against him and the film by members of the ruling party in West Bengal. Despite the pressure, he remains defiant and plans to launch the trailer in the state itself. 'The ruling party of West Bengal and their members have been filing so many FIRs against us in different cities. That is their strategy. I was quiet and did not share this information with anyone because we were taking the legal course. I have great faith in Indian judiciaries, especially Calcutta High Court,' he said. 'The Calcutta High Court has given us a stay on all these FIRs, but as the case was being heard in the High Court, at the same time, they filed more FIRs. The ruling party wants to trap us with so many legal hassles and battles so that we cannot focus on the promotion of the film. This strategy has been deployed by them for a very long time.' Agnihotri also detailed the challenges of making the film. 'I must tell you it's one of the most defining and important films. It uncovers many dark chapters of our history.' He added, 'I have finished the film. It has taken a lot from us. We have put in whatever we had to make this very difficult film. We were not allowed to shoot in Bengal. We had to shoot the entire film in Bombay. Now, with our limited resource, we want this film to reach every citizen of India.' He concluded the video by saying, 'This is people's film. It is your film. I want you to support us. I want you to expose all those agencies and powers who do not want this film to come out. They are challenging our guts and courage. They want to see how we are going to fight. We are alone while they have the state power. But I have taken this challenge and I am going to release the trailer of the film in West Bengal. Nobody can silence me because nobody can silence the truth.' The Bengal Files, originally titled 'The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter', is an upcoming Hindi-language film directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. It serves as the third and final instalment in Agnihotri's 'Files Trilogy' on modern Indian history, following 'The Tashkent Files' (2019) and 'The Kashmir Files' (2022). The film focuses on the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings. The project is set to be released in two parts. The first instalment, titled 'The Bengal Files: Right to Life', is slated to hit theatres on September 5, 2025, coinciding with Teachers' Day in India. Set against the backdrop of the 1940s, the film delves into the violence that engulfed undivided Bengal, spotlighting pivotal events such as Direct Action Day in 1946 and the Noakhali riots.
