Yahoo4 days ago

Linkin Park's 2024 album From Zero returns to a bevy of Billboard's album charts (dated May 31) following its deluxe reissue with additional tracks on May 16. The set reenters Top Album Sales (at No. 5), Top Hard Rock Albums (No. 4), Vinyl Albums (No. 8), Top Alternative Albums (No. 9), Top Rock Albums (No. 15), Top Rock & Alternative Albums (No. 17), Indie Store Album Sales (No. 17) and the Billboard 200 (No. 71).
From Zero debuted at No. 1 on all of the above charts last November, save for the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales, where it arrived at No. 2.

The album was bolstered with three new studio recordings ('Up From the Bottom,' 'Unshatter' and 'Let You Fade') on its digital and streaming editions, while physical formats (two double-CD sets and two double-vinyls) also added in five live tracks. The same week From Zero's deluxe impacted the album charts, one of the new songs added to the project, 'Up From the Bottom,' hit No. 1 on both the Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay charts.
In the tracking week ending May 22, From Zero earned 14,000 equivalent album units (up 173%), with traditional album sales comprising 7,500 of that sum (up 531%). The latter figure pushes the album's reentry on Top Album Sales at No. 5.
Elsewhere in the top 10 of the all-genre Top Album Sales chart, five albums debut in the region from Morgan Wallen, Jin, BOYNEXTDOOR, Sleep Theory and MEOVV.
Billboard's Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart's history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Pure album sales were the sole measurement utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album (TEA) units and streaming equivalent album (SEA) units.
Wallen's I'm the Problem launches at No. 1 on Top Album Sales with a career-best 133,000 sold, marking his fourth top 10-charting effort (all have reached the top three). Jin's Echo enters at No. 2 with 35,000 sold, garnering the singer his second effort to reach the top three. BOYNEXTDOOR's 4th EP: No Genre starts at a career-high No. 3 with nearly 14,000 sold; it's the fourth top 10 for the act.
Sleep Token's Even in Arcadia falls 1-4 in its second week on the chart (nearly 8,000; down 90%), while the aforementioned From Zero reenters the list at No. 5.
Kali Uchis' Sincerely. retreats 2-6 in its second week (just over 7,000; down 81%), Kendrick Lamar's chart-topping GNX climbs 8-7 (7,000; up 6%) and P1Harmony's DUH! dips 3-6 in its second week (nearly 7,000; down 69%).
Rounding out the latest top 10 is Sleep Theory's first full-length set Afterglow, which scores the band its first top 10 (and chart entry) with its No. 9 debut (6,500) and MEOVV, who sees their debut EP My Eyes Open VVIDE start at No. 10 (6,000).

June 6 (UPI) -- Mariah Carey released her first song of 2025 on Friday. The music icon, 56, dropped the single "Type Dangerous" and its official lyric video. "Said we'd be together, but you didn't stay forever," she sings. "Now I guess it's just whatever till the 12th of never. I've never been afraid of love. That's why I like 'em dangerous." The video shows the singer driving her car with wind in her hair. The song is set to appear on an upcoming album. "Type Dangerous" follows the release of the deluxe anniversary edition of The Emancipation of Mimi, which dropped May 30. The new version has 40 songs -- twice the number of tracks that appeared on the 2005 original. "So happy to celebrate this milestone anniversary with you all for an album that meant so much to me then, and means even more now," Carey said on Instagram. Barry Manilow heartbroken by Billy Joel's health crisis

Barry Manilow's heart "broke" when he heard about Billy Joel's health crisis. The veteran musician was forced to cancel all of his tour dates for the rest of the year after he was diagnosed with a rare brain condition called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), which is caused by a build-up of fluid in the brain, and now Manilow has admitted he feels terrible about seeing the Piano Man go through such a tough time. He told Billboard: "Oh, it's so horrible, so horrible. It just broke my heart when I heard about Billy Joel. I'm such a fan of his work. I really hope he's able to get back to it." Manilow went on to admit there aren't many of his contemporaries still performing. He said: "It's like: 'What? Am I the only one left?' It's Billy Joel, and Elton [John] is not well and Rod [Stewart] and Neil [Diamond]. Diana Ross is still in great shape, I think. "There must be only a handful of people in my world that are still there. "I'm still healthy. I'm strong and I've still got my voice and my energy. The night I can't hit the F natural on Even Now, that's the night I throw in the towel. But I can still do it." Joel recently axed all of his tour dates - including 17 dates in North America and England - but reports suggest he has no plans to retire despite the diagnosis. Announcing the news on social media, a statement from Joel's team read: "Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance. "Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritising his health. "He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage." Billy added his own message to fans, saying: "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."

Linkin Park's Debut Album Soars As Its Comeback Set Falls

Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory climbs on three U.K. charts this week, while From Zero falls following ... More its deluxe edition debut. MUNICH, GERMANY - MAY 31: Emily Armstrong, Lead Singer of Linkin Park, preforms, as a pyrotechnical display takes place prior to the UEFA Champions League Final 2025 between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Internazionale Milano at Munich Football Arena on May 31, 2025 in Munich, Germany. (Photo by) Last week, From Zero soared on charts around the world. The album, which marked a comeback for the hard rock outfit Linkin Park, surged thanks to the release of a deluxe edition that included several new tunes. Fans rushed to buy and stream the set, and that collective enthusiasm helped push the collection upward. But the honeymoon didn't last long, and From Zero begins to fall. In stark contrast, Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park's first full-length, proves its undying popularity once again. The title appears on three charts in the United Kingdom this week, climbing on all of them as sales seem to be increasing meaningfully. This week, Hybrid Theory returns to the top 10 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, pushing from No. 13 to No. 8. At the same time, it jumps from No. 66 on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales tallies to Nos. 59 and 61, respectively. Hybrid Theory is one of four albums by Linkin Park to find space on the U.K. charts this frame, but it's the only title that appears on more than one ranking and also manages to rise. Meteora, its follow-up, is also growing in stature. At the moment, Meteora pushes more than 10 spaces on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, landing at No. 27. However, unlike Hybrid Theory, that's the only list where the two-decade-old effort can currently be found. From Zero occupies the most lists across the Atlantic among all of Linkin Park's current wins, but it's falling on all of them. The 2024 release, powered by its 2025 expansion, dips most dramatically on the Official Albums chart, declining from No. 23 to No. 89. It also slips outside the top 40 on the Official Album Downloads chart, but it manages to remain within that competitive region on the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Rock & Metal Albums tallies, despite tumbling. Papercuts – Singles Collection 2000 – 2023 can also be found on a pair of rosters – two of the same ones as From Zero, which it followed by only about a year. That compilation of Linkin Park's most famous smashes steps backward on both the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming ranking.
