RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat bats for 'Swadeshi' products – ‘our country's money should stay within our borders'
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has called on students, businessmen, and the public to reflect on how they can contribute to the country's development by pledging to use 'Swadeshi' products—those made within India— in their daily lives.
Bhagwat emphasised that only a deep sense of patriotism in everyday life can propel both individuals and the nation forward, enabling comprehensive progress.
'Can we resolve to use domestically-produced goods in our personal lives?' Bhagwat asked while addressing students and businessmen of Shiksha Varg camp in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on 10 June.
'Let this resolution begin with the self, expand to our families and neighbourhoods and ultimately inspire the nation. Our country's money should stay within our borders and be used for our own progress,' he said.
"This resolution should start with our own lives and spread through our families, localities, cities, and states. The money earned in our country should remain in the country and be used for its development. We must conduct our lives with this mindset," Bhagwat said.
The RSS chief's remarks echo Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to reduce dependence on foreign goods and use domestically made products instead, saying it is vital to India's goal of becoming a developed nation and the world's third-largest economy by 2047.
Modi's remarks came in the wake of a four-day conflict with Pakistan, triggered by Pahalgam terror attack. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor – the precision attack on terrorist camps across the border.
The RSS is idealogical mentor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The RSS chief called upon students to become ideal professionals and inspiring examples for others in their fields. He also highlighted the important role society plays alongside the army and government in ensuring national security.
"We should all think about what we can do for the benefit of the country," he said.
Our country's money should stay within our borders and be used for our own progress.

Vijayawada: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said India achieved excellent growth and the country's reputation went up globally under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last 11 years. Kishan Reddy along with state party president Daggubati Purandeswari addressed the media in a private function on Tuesday marking the completion of 11 years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule in the country. The BJP leader said the Central government has been distributing free rice to 81 crore people. According to him, path-breaking tax reforms like Goods & Services Tax (GST) helped the economy and increased revenues for the states. Referring to food policy and production of food grains, he said the Centre increased minimum support price (MSP) for many crops and a total amount of Rs 3.7 lakh crore was directly deposited into the bank accounts of 11 crore farmers since the launch of PM Kisan scheme. Kishan Reddy further said that PM Modi had given top priority for the defence sector and stated Operation Sindoor was conducted to destroy the terrorist camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. He also said the central government launched the 'Make in India' scheme to boost the manufacturing sector. Later, Kishan Reddy released a book on the achievements of the NDA rule in the last 11 years.

CPI-M delegation visits Uri to support shelling-affected residents; slams govt for inadequate compensation, neglect
Uri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 11 (ANI): A delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), including the party's General Secretary MA Baby, visited Uri in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district to meet people affected by shelling by Pakistan. CPI-M General Secretary MA Baby expressed reservations over the compensation amount of Rs 1.3 lakh given to the affected residents. 'The situation here is highly distressing, as you would have seen with the drone and shelling attacks. The government has only given Rs 1.3 lakh as compensation, which these days cannot even buy a proper door and window. This is highly deplorable, and we strongly disagree with the government's attitude. The democratic process has been destroyed here. Omar Abdullah is the Chief Minister; this is a Union Territory, and Modi and Amit Shah are controlling everything. We heard that the review meeting conducted with the Lieutenant Governor excluded the Chief Minister,' he said. He further addressed the plight of the people affected by shelling, saying, 'An eight-member family has been given a small room--this attitude of the government needs to change. We, MPs from West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and other corners of the state, came here to raise the plight of people in border areas. We demanded a special session to discuss it, but the Prime Minister refused. He didn't even attend the all-party meeting, only giving lectures here and there.' One of the delegates, CPI-M leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami, said, 'The people living in border villages should have access to bunkers for their safety. We have come here to express solidarity and tell them we stand with them. We assure them that we will be their voice in Parliament.' The visit followed shelling by Pakistan in the civilian areas of Jammu and Kashmir post Operation Sindoor, which was conducted on May 7. The operation was conducted in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, including a Nepalese national. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir in response to a ghastly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding regarding the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)

People hopeful of fresh start after MHA declare ₹25 cr for damaged houses in J&K
With the Union ministry of home affairs sanctioning additional ₹25 crore for the cross border shelling victims of J&K, the affected families are hopeful that the amount will help them in starting their life afresh. Around 2,000 houses were damaged in J&K during the cross border shelling last month post operation Sindoor when Pakistani army targeted civilian areas in several parts of union territory. The victims say the UT government gave them peanuts which wasn't enough to lay foundation of the house. With additional ₹25 crores now the affected families can be compensated in a better way especially those who lost everything in the cross border shelling in Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, Uri and Kupwara. The UT administration has already completed the assessment of damaged properties and submitted it's report to ministry of home affairs. Even the J&K BJP also submitted assessment report about the damaged properties. 'I lost my house and couldn't retrieve anything. So far we received ₹1.10 lakh from the J&K government. We don't know what to do with this money as everything is costly nowadays,' said Mohammad Yunus of Salamabad in Uri where five houses were completely damaged. The affected families have been shifted to government accommodation. 'We heard the Centre has released another ₹25 crores and hope now we will be given adequate compensation so that we can begin our lives afresh,' he said. Another villager, Firoz ud din said shelling has left them on the road. 'Our house was damaged completely and now we are on road. Government gave us an amount which is just peanuts. With central aid we are hopeful now good compensation will be provided to us so that we can rebuild our houses.' Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had announced additional compensation for houses damaged by Pakistani shelling in the border districts of Jammu and Kashmir following Operation Sindoor. The MHA ensured swift implementation of PM's announcement. 'This is an additional amount to what these families have received as per norms set by centre and state government,' said a senior J&K government officer. Alone in Uri, Kupwara and Tanghdar around 600 structures were damaged completely or partially most of the properties belong to villagers living below poverty. CPI(M) delegation in Uri A high-powered delegation of CPI(M) visited Uri and met the families affected in shelling-affected villages. CPI(M) general secretary and legislator Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami said the delegation led by the national general secretary CPI(M) MA Baby, comprised members of Parliament Amra Ram, K Radhakrishnan, John Brittas, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya, SU Venkatesan, and AA Rahim. The leaders said that the aim of this visit of the delegation is to express solidarity with villagers affected by cross border shelling and to assess the situation on the ground zero.
