Suneil Shetty BREAKS Silence On Hera Pheri 3 Row: ‘This Franchise Is Not A Joke'

News185 days ago
Suniel Shetty says Hera Pheri is 'not a joke' but a situation-based comedy. He praises Priyadarshan's writing amid casting buzz around Hera Pheri 3.
Veteran actor Suniel Shetty, currently busy promoting his latest action-packed venture Hunter Season 2, recently sat down for an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, where he took a nostalgic trip down memory lane. While discussing his early struggles, overcoming self-doubt, and evolving as an artist, the Hera Pheri star also responded to a now-iconic meme based on one of his most memorable dialogues.
The meme in question? A line from Hera Pheri that's gone viral over the years: 'Main toh sirf pati banna chahta hoon" (I just want to be a husband). When shown the clip, Shetty smiled and credited director Priyadarshan and dialogue writer Neeraj Vora for the brilliance behind the line.
'Impromptu was action and reaction. Dialogues — Priya sir ek word change karne bhi nahi dete (Priyadarshan sir wouldn't let you change even a single word)," Shetty explained, stressing how meticulously the film was crafted.
He elaborated on how he memorized dialogues by understanding their emotional depth. 'The minute you understand it, you don't need to by heart it. He (Priyadarshan) used to explain what I meant by this. What am I trying to say. He makes sense — he makes unbelievable sense."
Reflecting on the evolution of comedy in cinema, Shetty took a subtle dig at contemporary writing. 'Hera Pheri is not a joke. Hera Pheri situation hai," he said. '*Meri fatti padi hai, toh fatti padi hai. Usme mai dialogue kya bolunga. Uske reaction se ye line funny ho jata hai (If I'm scared, I'm scared — what can I say? The line becomes funny because of the situation and reaction)." He added, 'Today's films are like WhatsApp jokes — there's no real writing."
Suniel Shetty's appreciation for Priyadarshan's directorial precision and Neeraj Vora's clever writing shines through, as he remains proud of the timelessness of Hera Pheri, a film that continues to resonate across generations.
Meanwhile, Hera Pheri 3 has been making headlines, especially after Paresh Rawal's brief exit and return following a fallout with Akshay Kumar. Though much remains under wraps, fans are eager to see the original trio back in action.
As for Hunter Season 2, the action-thriller series premiered on July 24, with Jackie Shroff joining the cast in a pivotal role. With Shetty bringing back his rugged charm and action expertise, the show promises to be another gritty ride for fans.

"Can't Continue The Way I Used To": Popular Food Vlogger Steps Away From Long-Form YouTube Videos

Firoz Chuttipara, the face behind Kerala's popular Village Food Channel, has said that he will no longer be making long-format YouTube videos that first brought him fame. Known for his massive cooking projects, like preparing hundreds of kilos of biryani or seafood pickle, Chuttipara's unique blend of tradition, scale and social impact earned him a huge following among food lovers in India and beyond. The Palakkad native, who returned to Kerala after working abroad, turned to YouTube with a vision. It was to cook grand meals, often for underprivileged communities, and show the process from scratch. But in a recent YouTube Live session, Firoz shared that the economics of creating such large-scale content no longer add up. 'I can't continue with YouTube the way I used to,' he said, as quoted by News18. With audiences increasingly turning to shorter videos, like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, Firoz said that the shift in viewer behaviour has made long-form content financially unsustainable for creators like him. The limited earnings from short videos are not enough to offset the significant expenses involved in sourcing ingredients and handling large-scale production. Having said that, he clarified that while long videos will now be rare, short updates will continue to appear on his channel. View this post on Instagram A post shared by VILLAGE FOOD CHANNEL (@villagefoodchannel_official) Looking ahead, Firoz has decided to channel his energy into a new business venture with a friend. Although he has kept the details under wraps, he said that the venture will be based in the UAE and will require much of his time and attention going forward. Firoz's journey, from expatriate to one of Kerala's most recognised culinary YouTubers, has been remarkable. While fans may miss the epic cooking sessions that made him famous, many remain eager to see how his next chapter unfolds, whether in business or short-form food content.
