The 2025 Met Gala is billed as fashion's biggest night, with invitations going to A-listers in business, politics, entertainment and sports. Each year, the mega-watt guest list features pro athletes, including a few glam GOATS.
This year, Serena Williams, Angel Reese, Simone Biles and Lewis Hamilton are expected to be among the pro athletes attending the Met Gala, which gets underway at 6 p.m. with red carpet arrivals on Vogue's website and its YouTube Channel.
LeBron James was set to serve as honorary chairman but bowed out of the event due to a knee injury. The Los Angeles Lakers star said his wife Savanah would still attend.
Hamilton will co-chair along with Academy Award nominated actor Colman Domingo, rapper A$AP Rocky, and music producer Pharrell Williams. Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour will also serve as co-chair.
The Met Gala is a fundraiser for the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The theme for the 2025 Met Gala is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," a shout out to Black Dandyism, a term explored in Monica Miller's book 'Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity."
The exhibit will focus on Black style, with emphasis on menswear from the 18th Century to modern attire. Few do black Dandyism like African American athletes who often arrive for game-day as if it were a runway.
Celebrity stylist Courtney May dresses athletes for high-profile events and told ABC News that outfitting professional athletes comes with unique challenges. May had to enlist a Los Angeles shoemaker to design custom-sized 18 shoes to match a metallic Calivn Kline suite made for 6'9" WNBA star Brittany Griner to attend the 2023 Met Gala, shortly after being released from a Russian prison.
Which athletes will show up at the 2025 Met Gala? There are always surprises but the following are some of the professional athletes you can expect to see at the 2025 Met Gala:

At the 2024 Met Gala, Hamilton wore custom Burberry. This year, Hamilton aims to surprise. Although Wintour's influence and opinion weigh heavily on the event, she insists she doesn't know what everybody will wear.
In an interview with ABC's Good Morning America, Wintour said although she had not seen what Hamilton will be wearing, she's not concerned about his style. 'I trust Lewis. He knows what's doing,' Wintour said.
Hamilton is not afraid of color or pattern. So expect the unexpected to be exquiste.

Simone Biles performs in uniforms glittering with body bling. But the Met Gala is next level, even for an often bedazzled gymnast.
Biles, fresh off 'Ridders Up' duties at the Kentucky Derby, hinted to People that she might be standing taller than usual at the Met Gala. 'I'll have to wear very high heels,' Biles said.
Biles also told People that she and her husband, Chicago Bears Safety Jonathan Owens, are not working with the same designer.

Count on sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson wearing something a bit racey. Not since Florence Griffith Joyner (Flo-Jo) has a track star drawn as much attention to her sprinting attire. Richardson first attended a Met Gala in 2021, when she wore a black and red bustier leather gown by designer Theophilio, accessorized by her signature nails in red, black, gold, and white.

Williams is a veteran of the Met Gala. She served as co-chair in 2019, when the theme was 'Camp: Notes on Fashion.'
Williams walked the Met Gala stairs twice during pregnancy, once when carrying her first child, daughter Olympia Ohanian and two years ago when pregnant with daughter Adira.

Last year, Venus attended the Met Gala. However, Venus will be part of TNT Sports coverage of the French Open so she might be a no show this evening. Other tennis stars who have attended the Met Gala are Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, Emma Raducanu, Leylah Fernandez.

Justin & Hailey Bieber's Prenup Details Finally Revealed Amid Reports He Could Get Half of Her Billion-Dollar Fortune
The speculation over Hailey and Justin Bieber's marriage has reached a fever pitch in the last few months. From reports about Justin's declining health, to his alleged money issues, to fans speculating he doesn't treat his wife right, without forgetting Kendall and Kylie Jenner reportedly trying to stage an intervention to save the marriage, there has been a lot of news. But throughout it all, the two have remained steady, or at least that's what they want us to believe. Now, however, it seems like remaining together would actually be the best for Hailey Bieber, financially speaking. The model-turned-entrepreneur did, after all, sell her beauty brand, Rhode, to e.l.f in a billion-dollar deal. And multiple sources told Page Six that the two never signed a prenup, so if they were ever to split, Justin could be entitled to half of her earnings. More from StyleCaster Justin Bieber Just Shared a Cryptic Post About 'Loyalty' After Rumors He & 'Not Happy' Hailey Are 'Getting Divorced' Hailey Bieber's Net Worth Revealed Amid Reports 'Broke' Justin Is Close to 'Financial Collapse' Related: Who did Justin Bieber date before Hailey Bieber? 'It's highly unusual for people of their stature to not have an agreement that governs their assets,' a top Hollywood divorce lawyer told Page Six. 'But sometimes people don't want to do it.' Moreover, the lawyer explained, 'Because they live in California, the state would have jurisdiction, and the law states that anything created during marriage is community property. If there is no prenup [or] postnuptial … agreement, this sounds like community property to me.' Of course, Bieber won't actually be taking home a billion dollars herself, as the deal is more complicated than that, but she's still getting a big payout. This is apparently not that strange, as some reports indicate she has become the breadwinner of the family late. Justin Bieber has not released a new album since 2021, but The Hollywood Reporter recently reported he is 'very close' to finishing a new project. Ironically, Bieber's entire catalogue, which he sold in 2023, would not be communal property, as Bieber's catalogue originated before their marriage. The singer has reportedly been having some money problems since he cancelled what was left of his 'Justice' tour in late 2022 after a diagnosis of Type 2 Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a facial paralysis disease. He reportedly lost out on an estimated $90 million in income by doing so. Rumors about the state of the couple's marriage resurfaced once again after Justin Bieber posted a questionable caption when it was announced Hailey would be on the June cover of Vogue. 'Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,' he explained on his Instagram. 'I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue. Yikes I know, so mean,' he said, adding an apology at the end that almost didn't feel like one, 'So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken.' Afterwards, he replaced the caption with a series of emojis, '🤷🫵🏻🫶🏼🥹.' Hailey, however, responded to the rumors by telling Vogue: 'You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no. So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.' So it looks like there's no trouble in paradise, and financially, that's probably a good thing. Judge says Weinstein juror complaining about jury strife cannot be excused
By Jody Godoy NEW YORK (Reuters) -The judge overseeing former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's rape and sexual assault trial refused on Friday to dismiss a juror who said some jurors were treating others on the 12-person panel unfairly. "I just don't think it's fair and just," the juror told New York Supreme Court Justice Curtis Farber in court, referring to things other jurors were saying and doing behind another juror's back. "There is a bit of a shunning happening," the juror said. The juror asked to be dismissed but Farber said there was no legal basis to do so after the juror confirmed that no one on the jury panel was pressuring him to change his view of the case. "If any other juror feels they need to talk to me, they can," the judge said. Weinstein's lawyers said they would make a proposal on how to address the matter later on Friday. Friday was the second day of jury deliberations. No other jurors were present during the exchange. Farber dismissed alternates from the jury on Thursday. Weinstein, 73, was convicted of rape by a Manhattan jury in February 2020, but the New York Court of Appeals threw out the conviction and ordered a new trial, citing errors by the trial judge. Prosecutors say the Academy Award-winning producer raped aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and assaulted two other women in 2006 and 2002. Weinstein, who has denied ever having non-consensual sex or assaulting anyone, has pleaded not guilty. He faces up to 25 years in prison for two counts of criminal sexual acts and up to four years for one count of rape. Weinstein is already serving a 16-year prison sentence after being found guilty in December 2022 of rape in a separate California case. Prosecutors with the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg have portrayed Weinstein as a serial predator who promised career advancement in Hollywood to women, only to then coax them into private settings where he attacked them. Weinstein's defense lawyers have said his encounters with the women were consensual and accused them of lying about being raped after failing to make it big in Hollywood by sleeping with him.

All the Most Divisive Fashion Moments From 'And Just Like That'
In the first episode of And Just Like That season 3, Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie already made headlines. Not only did she seemingly rekindle with Aidan (John Corbett) after their five-year break agreement, but she made a fashion risk that left the internet scratching their heads. In one scene, Carrie is walking through Washington Square Park with her friend Seema (Sarita Choudhury) wearing a cream-colored dress from Ossie Clark and a billowing gingham hat designed by Maryam Keyhani. On the internet, viewers were quick to criticize it. 'Who in their right mind would walk around NYC wearing this hat?? (Or any other city 😆)' wrote one X user. 'On last night's season premiere of And Just Like That, Carrie wore a 'hat' that made me question reality,' wrote another user. 'I saw the hat and wanted it on my head,' Parker said in defense of the hat choice to USA Today. 'At this point, there's no pretend dilly-dallying around. We pretty much just put stuff on my head and photograph it, and hope that Michael Patrick [King, executive producer of the show] is hospitable to the idea.' Luckily, he agreed. 'It's like, 'Hey, everybody, we're back!' he told the outlet of the look. 'I've learned over the years that sometimes logic is not as good as a hat. It makes people say, 'I love it. I hate it. Oh, my God, what was she thinking?'' To check out the divisive hat and some other divisive looks from And Just Like That over the years, scroll below! Best of SheKnows 27 Celebrity Moms Who've Opened Up About Their Plastic Surgery 16 of the Steamiest Movie Sex Scenes With Older Women & Younger Men All the Men Marilyn Monroe Reportedly Had Relationships With Throughout Her Short Life Parker had a vision to wear this Maryam Keyhani hat and really went for it. It's camp at its finest. Also in episode 1, viewers couldn't exactly get behind the oversized ball necklace Nicole Ari Parker's character Lisa Todd Wexley wore. 'And Just Like That Season 3 is strange…Between the clown bonnet and woven string light necklace I'm lost,' wrote one X user. In season 1, Carrie left fans scratching their heads with a scene of her smoking in a pink Batsheva housedress, babushka-style headscarf, and elbow-length purple latex gloves. Luckily, it all had an explanation. In a convo with Seema, she explained that the look is to avoid any cigarette smoke or smell from coming into her apartment. 'I smoked in here one night and then everything smelled like a cigarette and I was right back there, wanting to smoke morning, noon, and while I was sleeping,' she told her friend, per Vogue. 'Now, I allow myself one a day in a walk around the block, with like three kerchiefs on my head and Playtex kitchen gloves. I just can't risk having that smell on my hair and my hands.' Carrie and Steve (David Eigenberg) shared a sweet moment together when they volunteered to paint houses in season 1. One thing that fans couldn't get behind, though? Why would Carrie go paint in these massive silver platform heels? When season 1 was filming, AJLT got backlash when fans speculated that Parker wore this Boho dress seemingly from Forever 21 in one of the scenes. As it turns out, not only was the dress not from the fast fashion brand, but the look was all carefully planned. 'The message from [show creator] Michael Patrick King was 'Put Carrie in something that she would be kind of embarrassed to wear while bumping into Natasha [Big's ex-wife] at the coffee place,'' costume designer Molly Rogers told InStyle. 'For me, that was that long summer dress, and SJ wanted to put a tiger shirt underneath it. It was very Coachella in a way; I didn't really find it to be a very Carrie outfit. That's why I thought it worked.' They also revealed the dress was vintage. 'That was something that I purchased probably about five years ago,' fellow designer Danny Santiago said. 'It had no label in it, and I think I paid $5 or $6 at a thrift shop.' While this look didn't get as much attention as any Carrie look did in the show, this look from Lisette (Katerina Tannenbaum) was certainly a choice. Together with these oversized brown boots, Lisette wore these pink hot pants, a bright blue bra and a sheer dress on top. We all know that Carrie has a flair for drama, but this white tulle skirt paired with this striped colorful shirt wasn't exactly the cohesive look viewers were looking for. In season 2, one of the show's most controversial moments was Carrie's pigeon clutch in episode 2. The bag, which is 3D-printed by JW Anderson, accessorized Carrie's gray jumpsuit. 'We brought it in, they loaned us one, and Sarah Jessica was like, 'Gimme that bag!'' Molly Rogers told Entertainment Weekly. 'She was totally into it. It's painted beautifully.' In the sixth episode of season 2, Carrie left viewers gasping when she faced a blizzard in this massive Moncler by Valentino's Pierpaolo Piccioli coat. It's probably the most dramatic look of hers to date, but it sure would insulate her from the cold! 'I, too, gasped when I saw that coat,' wrote Callie Holtermann for the New York Times. 'You're telling me she had that in her closet earlier this season when she supposedly had nothing to wear to the Met Gala? When Rihanna herself arrived at the Met in 2021 wearing a Balenciaga puffer gown with a giant train?' You know an outfit is good for the Met Gala when you need your husband to help you, right? In the Met Gala episode in season 2, Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) wore this flowy red custom Valentino dress paired with a dramatic Philip Treacy headpiece with red petals. We could barely see LTW's face, she couldn't get into a car, and her husband Herbert (Christopher Jackson) needed to help her with the train. Was all the hastle worth it?
