UAE Achieves Top Global Position in Telecom Infrastructure
Nada Mustafa The United Arab Emirates has been ranked number one in the world in a number of key digital development indicators, including telecoms infrastructure, digital government and digital content, according to TV BRICS. The data is presented in the second edition of the 'State of Digital Transformation Report', published by the UAE's UAE's Higher Committee for Government Digital Transformation during the recent Digital Readiness Retreat. The document covers the government's achievements in 12 strategically important sectors including economy, health, education, energy, logistics, justice, and others. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future in the UAE Government and Chair of the Committee, states that digital transformation is at the core of the country's development strategy to improve efficiency and quality of life through technology. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS. According to the report, the UAE topped the UN's global rankings for telecoms infrastructure, digital governance and digital knowledge. The country ranked in the top 5 in several other international indices, including public service delivery and digital maturity in governance. Today, 1,419 digital public services are available in the country. More than 57 million users have already taken advantage of them, and 460 digital transformation projects are currently underway at the federal level. In the economy, over 5.2 million tax transactions have been processed, while in healthcare, 2 million electronic prescriptions have been issued and over 400,000 remote consultations have been conducted. The report highlights that digitalisation has affected everything from employment and education to cultural initiatives and environmental protection, cementing the UAE's status as one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

The "Pretty Woman" Necklace: An Eternal Cinematic Icon In The World Of Jewelry
Waleed Farouk The Vivienne Ward necklace, worn by Julia Roberts in the 1990 film "Pretty Woman," is one of the most iconic pieces of jewelry in cinematic history. Designed by French jewelry house Fred Joaillier, this exquisite necklace features 23 pear-shaped rubies surrounded by diamond-studded hearts, set on an 18-karat white gold base. The necklace was originally valued at approximately $250,000 and was heavily guarded during filming, with an armed guard from the jewelry store behind the camera at all times. This necklace has become a symbol of romance and elegance, especially after the famous scene in which Richard Gere opens the box in front of Julia Roberts, prompting her spontaneous reaction that became an iconic moment in the film. The popularity of this necklace continued after the film's release, with Fred launching the "Pretty Woman" collection, featuring designs inspired by the original necklace, including the "Audacious" necklace in white gold, set with eight heart-shaped rubellites and 554 diamonds. It can be transformed into multiple jewelry pieces, such as earrings and a brooch. The "Pretty Woman" necklace is an example of how cinema has influenced the world of fashion and jewelry, transforming it from a piece of art into a cultural icon that transcends the silver screen. read more 15 Ludicrous Cosplay Costumes That Will Blow You Away Watch... Elon Musk says Trump's agenda bill ‘undermines' DOGE mission
CNN — Elon Musk raised concerns about President Donald Trump's sweeping tax and spending cuts package, saying in a video released Tuesday that he believes it would raise the US budget deficit and undercut efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency. 'I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,' the tech billionaire and Trump donor told 'CBS Sunday Morning.' 'I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful, but I don't know if it can be both.' Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' includes trillions of dollars in tax cuts and a big boost to the US military and to national security spending – largely paid for by overhauls to federal health and nutrition programs and cuts to energy programs. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the bill would pile another $3.8 trillion to the deficit. It narrowly passed the House last week, and now heads to the Senate, where it will likely face many changes. Musk's comments come amid a media tour ahead of a SpaceX test flight Tuesday evening. Musk is stepping away from full-time government work to focus on his companies, including SpaceX and Tesla, which have struggled in part as a result of Musk's alliance with the Trump administration. He noted the move in an interview with Ars Technica on Tuesday, hours before SpaceX's Starship test flight. 'I think I probably did spend a bit too much time on politics, it's less than people would think, because the media is going to over-represent any political stuff, because political bones of contention get a lot of traction in the media,' he said when asked whether he feels his focus on politics over the past year has 'harmed' SpaceX. 'It's not like I left the companies. It was just relative time allocation that probably was a little too high on the government side, and I've reduced that significantly in recent weeks.' Musk also noted last week that he'll spend 'a lot less' money on politics in the future, but it's still not clear whether the remarks signal any change in his pledge to commit $100 million into political groups controlled by the president. Musk previously spent more than $290 million to help get Trump and GOP congressional candidates elected in November. Musk-linked groups also shelled out more than $20 million on a Wisconsin Supreme Court race earlier this year that his preferred candidate ultimately lost. Musk also continued to defend the work DOGE has been doing in Washington, telling the Washington Post on Tuesday that the team has become a 'whipping boy.' 'DOGE is just becoming the whipping boy for everything,' he said. 'So, like, something bad would happen anywhere, and we would get blamed for it even if we had nothing to do with it.' CNN has previously reported that DOGE is poised to continue its work even as Musk steps back, with staffers to remain in place, embedded across federal agencies, for months or years to come. CNN's Hadas Gold contributed to this report.
