The Canaries will want around £20million for Sargent.
However, that is more than the Clarets are willing to pay.
Sargent, 25, is also attractive as he is a proven scorer in the Championship.
And that could yet be a factor if Burnley go straight back down.

Monday's briefing: Chelsea surprise Paris St Germain as Lionesses move forward
It proved a successful evening too for England's women as they booked their place in the Euro 2025 quarter-finals with a 6-1 rout of Wales, who are heading home as a result. Elsewhere, there were emotional tributes to Diogo Jota ahead of Liverpool's friendly victory at Preston. Palmer gives PSG the Blues Cole Palmer scored twice as Chelsea beat Paris St Germain 3-0 in the Club World Cup final (Seth Wenig/AP) Cole Palmer hit back at the critics who had been giving Chelsea 's***' after firing them to Club World Cup glory in New York. Palmer, who was presented with the Man of the Match award by President Donald Trump, scored the first two goals and set up the third in a surprise 3-0 final victory over Champions League winners Paris St Germain at the MetLife Stadium as Enzo Maresca's men capped an encouraging season in style. Asked how excited he was by the team Maresca is building at Stamford Bridge, the England international told DAZN: 'He's building something special, something important with a young team. Everyone's talked a lot of s*** about us all season, but I feel like we're going in the right direction.' Reflecting on the game, Palmer added: 'Obviously it's a great feeling, even better because everyone doubted us before the game. We knew that and to go out there and put a fight on like we did against a great team, yes, it's good.' Six of the best Ella Toone scored the second goal in England's 6-1 victory over Wales (Nick Potts/PA) Defending champions England cruised into the Euro 2025 quarter-finals with a 6-1 victory over tournament newcomers Wales, who bowed out of the competition in St Gallen. Georgia Stanway opened the scoring with a 13th-minute penalty before Ella Toone doubled the scoring in the 21st minute before Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo made it 4-0 at the break. Beth Mead scored a fifth after the restart before Hannah Cain clawed one back with Wales' second-ever goal in a major tournament, but substitute Aggie Beever-Jones completed the scoring for an assured England, who will now face Sweden in Zurich on Thursday. Liverpool and Preston pay tribute to Diogo Jota Liverpool fans paid tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva during the club's pre-season friendly at Preston (Martin Rickett/PA) For seven minutes after the final whistle, Liverpool players and staff stood in front of their supporters at Preston as they chanted Diogo Jota's name. Sunday's pre-season friendly at Deepdale was originally envisaged as a day to kick-start preparations for Liverpool's Premier League title defence, but it played out as a memorial service for Jota and his brother Andre Silva, 10 days after they died in a car accident in Spain. On the pitch Liverpool eased to a 3-1 win through goals from Conor Bradley, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, but thoughts of Jota and Silva remained at the forefront throughout the day. As Claudia Rose Maguire, wife of former Preston player Sean, sang Liverpool anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' before kick-off, Preston captain Ben Whiteman walked the length of the pitch to lay a wreath in front of the visiting fans with the Bill Shankly Kop dominated by banners and scarves bearing Jota's name. Rasmus Hojlund sends Man Utd six-word message as Moise Kean deadline looms
Manchester United are weighing up a move for Moises Kean whilst his release clause remains live but Rasmus Hojlund is determined to prove himself at Old Trafford Rasmus Hojlund appears happy to be back in Manchester United training despite consistent talk of a move away as the Dane said on social media: "Hello. It's good to be back". The forward has struggled during his two years at Old Trafford, despite joining in a deal worth more than £70million back when Erik ten Hag was in charge. He's scored 26 times across his spell at the club, but looked increasingly bereft of confidence last term. He was always signed with an eye to his development, but he has not come on like many in Manchester had hoped. As a result a move away, potentially back to Italy has been rumoured. It is understood that Inter Milan are keen on the striker. Despite the noise surrounding his next move Hojlund looks happy to be back in action as he trained in the gym in front of the cameras. He is keen to prove himself at the Premier League giants. That hasn't stopped Ruben Amorim from eyeing up more firepower and, with Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to produce the necessary goals, alternatives are being eyed with Moises Kean among them after scoring 19 times for Fiorentina. Kean has emerged as a possible target despite his forgettable experience in England previously with Everton. He was in stellar form for Fiorentina last term and can leave for a modest fee, but United could face competition from Saudi Arabia if they do choose to pursue him. The Italian will be allowed to leave the club for €52m (£45m) due to a clause that can be triggered until July 15. Al-Hilal currently appear most advanced as they look to raid Italy once again with Simone Inzaghi now in charge having left Inter to take the job. The likes of Victor Osimhen, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres have also been cited a possible targets, which underlines United's desire to land a prolific No 9 having experienced problems there in recent seasons. Behind the central striker Amorim is also looking for new arrivals. Matheus Cunha has joined from Wolves, but he remains the only new face as the club's recruitment hits a roadblock. There main target currently in Bryan Mbeumo but they've seen two bids rejected by Brentford as they dig their heels in over the player's valuation. Florian Wirtz to Man Utd transfer claim made as Liverpool told his true value
Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel believes that, despite the high transfer fee, Florian Wirtz offers the Reds great value even with the 22-year-old German playmaker potentially becoming a British record signing Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel believes Florian Wirtz is the signing of the summer, despite the enormous fee it took to prise him away from Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds stunned the Premier League and the rest of Europe when they bagged the much-coveted German superstar. The Premier League champions were eager to make a statement after sealing their 20th top-flight crown and so pulled out all the stops to seal a deal for the ambitious 22-year-old. After months of speculation, and fighting off the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City to land his signature, Wirtz joined Liverpool last month in a deal that could be worth a British-record fee of £116 million. Babbel, 52, is a former Germany international, who played for Liverpool from 2000-2004 and helped the Anfield side under the late Gerard Houllier win four major trophies. Despite the eye-watering fee, the four-time Bundesliga champion believes the deal represents excellent value for his former club due to the Wirtz's clear class - claiming that even if Liverpool's bitter rivals Manchester United signed the playmaker, he would still echo the same sentiments. "Florian Wirtz is easily the best signing of the summer transfer window so far," Babbel told Gameshub. 'That was the deal of the year in my opinion and that isn't just because the Premier League champions signed him; if Man United had made the deal, it would be no different – he's a fantastic player that will add so much value to the team. "No one was talking about Liverpool getting the deal done either! Everyone assumed he'd join Bayern Munich, Man City or Real Madrid. But it was always clear to me from the start that he'd be heading to Liverpool to play under Arne Slot and alongside some of the best players in Europe, such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah." He added: "I would be surprised if a club managed to pull off a signing as good as Wirtz to Liverpool. For me, there's no doubt that he's the best signing of the window." In the five years Wirtz spent at Leverkusen, the Germany international established himself as one of the best players in the world, hence the huge fee paid for his services by Arne Slot's side. Speaking after his unveiling as the Reds' record signing, Wirtz opened up on the high-profile move. "I would like to win everything every year," he said. "In the end, we want to be successful. Last season they won the Premier League so my goal is for sure to win it again and also to go further in the Champions League. I'm really ambitious." Wirtz said choosing Liverpool was the "next step" he needed to take in his career, adding: "I'm really excited to have a new adventure in front of me. This was also a big point of my thoughts. "I want to have something completely new, to go out of the Bundesliga and to join the Premier League. I will see how I can perform there. I hope I can do my best. "I just thought that it was the right point in my career to make the next step and of course I wanted to get to a club that is from the top three in the world. In my opinion, Liverpool is one of them. I just saw myself in the best hands in Liverpool." Wirtz joins former Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong, Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez and Georgian and ex-Valencia shotstopper Giorgi Mamardashvili as the Reds newest faces this summer as Slot looks to defend the Premier League title next season.
