Akshay Kumar's ‘Housefull 5' rakes in Rs 3.88 crore for day 1 in Advance Booking

Time of India2 days ago

Housefull 5, directed by Tanu Mansukhani, is generating significant buzz with impressive advance bookings, grossing ₹3.85 crore, including block bookings. The film will be released with two different climaxes, a first in Hindi cinema. Featuring a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar and others, the movie is set to clash with Kamal Haasan's Thug Life.
When it comes to out-and-out masala entertainers, few franchises command the kind of loyal following that Housefull does. The fifth instalment of the iconic comedy series, Housefull 5 directed by Tanu Mansukhani of Dostana fame, is all set to hit theatres this Friday, and its advance booking numbers are already reflecting the franchise's enduring popularity.
EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi On Bhool Chuk Maaf, Stree 2 Pressure & Modern Love Struggles
In a world where comedies struggle to make big noise before release, Housefull 5 has managed to notch up Rs 90.88 lakh gross in advance bookings for its opening day, selling 24,626 tickets across 7,598 shows. This figure, mind you, is without accounting for block bookings, which alone amount to a whopping 2.97 crore thus taking the overall collection to Rs 3.88 crore.
Never before in the history of Hindi film cinema will a film be released with two different climaxes and Sajid Nadidwala's Houseful 5 is going to break this format.
For one version about 14,666 tickets have been sold and for another version about 9,960 tickets have been sold. With three more days to go for the release of the film- one can expect major jumps as the date comes near.
Part of what makes Housefull 5 such a major event film is its star-studded ensemble — a perfect cocktail of action, comedy, and glam. The cast reads like a who's who of Bollywood entertainers like
Akshay Kumar
, Ritiesh Deshmukh,
Abhishek Bachchan
, Jacqueline Fernandez,
Sonam Bajwa
,
Sanjay Dutt
, Jackie Shroff, Johnny Lever and Chunky Panday reprises his iconic character Aakhri Pasta, ensuring continuity for the fans of the franchise.

While running errands with their three kids, the Stephens family happened upon an unexpected surprise in the trading card aisle—Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman, casually browsing like any other shopper. The chance encounter turned magical as Walman not only chatted with the kids about hockey and video games but surprised them with gifts—transforming a regular Friday into something straight out of a feel-good sports movie. Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman buys trading cards for young fans in Sherwood Park Adam and Angela Stephens, along with their three children—Luke (9), Jake (7), and Emma (5)—were simply out shopping when their boys convinced them to swing by the trading card section. That's where they met Walman, who was browsing through cards himself. 'I was just kind of wandering around the store,' Adam told 'And there is Jake Walman picking up a tin of cards. He was just waiting and he started up a conversation, just being a nice guy.' Walman, a known Pokémon fan, noticed the kids looking through the hockey cards and asked if they were Oilers supporters. When they answered yes and shared their favorite players—Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl—Walman playfully asked if they had heard of Jake Walman. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo 'My son said, 'My dad loves him, he was so happy when they traded for him,'' Adam recalled. For young Emma, who isn't into trading cards, he picked out a Minecraft stuffed toy instead. 'I like doing that stuff,' Walman later said. Allahabad HC stays arrest of music producer Sunil Yadav in kidnapping case

According to the prosecution, Anupama was in love with Sunil Yadav, and they were going to get married in April this year. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Siddhartha and Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra also issued notice to Sushmita Yadav, a sister of the alleged victim, Anupama Yadav. Prayagraj, Jun 3 (PTI) The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of music producer Sunil Yadav, who was booked allegedly for kidnapping a woman whom he had signed for an album, a court official said on Tuesday. On February 19, Sunil Yadav came to Anupama's house and said he had to go to Nepal for wedding shopping. He took Anupama in a car, a Mahindra Scorpio. After two hours, Surya Kumar Yadav, Sunil's brother, got a call from Anupama, who told him Sunil was not taking her to Nepal, but to Bihar. After the call, her mobile phone became unavailable. On February 22, around 9 am, Sunil Yadav told Sushmita over the phone that Anupama was not with him. Sushmita has since alleged that Sunil Yadav has either sold her sister, aged 25, or murdered her. Sunil Yadav alleged that the two sisters ran a blackmail racket. According to his counsel, Sunil Yadav had given Anupama a role in an album and paid her around Rs 6 lakh. But she refused to work on the album, and subsequently fabricated the kidnapping story, he claimed. On February 23, Sunil Yadav was booked under sections 87 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her marriage, etc) of BNS at the Kotwali Police Station in Deoria district.
