Where 5-Star Immanuel Iheanacho ranks among Oregon's all-time highest-rated commits

USA Today03-07-2025
Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks scored a massive victory on the recruiting trail on Thursday, getting a commitment from 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho, the third 5-star player they've added to the 2026 class.
Iheanacho stands at 6-foot-6, 345 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 8 player in the 2026 class. With the addition of Iheanacho, Oregon jumped up to No. 10 in the recruiting rankings for this cycle, and there's a belief that they will continue to climb quickly with more top-ranked players coming off the board shortly.
What's more interesting to note, though, is where Iheanahco ranks among the top players and top offensive linemen to ever commit to the Ducks. Here's a look at where he stands when it comes to the best offensive linemen ever to join Oregon:
No. 5 — Jonah Tauanu'u (4-star, 95) — Class of 2019
No. 4 — Penei Sewell(4-star, 0.9709) — Class of 2018
No. 3 — Kingsley Tuamataia (4-star, 0.9823) — Class of 2021
No. 2 — Josh Conerly (5-star, 0.9918) — Class of 2022
No. 1 — Immanuel Iheanacho (5-star, 0.9963) — Class of 2026
While Iheanacho standing among the top OTs in Oregon history is elite, he will also go down as one of the top-ranked overall players to commit to the Ducks.
When looking at those rankings, two things stand out at first glance: One, Oregon's 2025 class was loaded at the top, with 5-star Dakorien Moore (No. 2 all-time), 5-star Na'eem Offord (No. 8 all-time), and 5-star Trey McNutt (No. 17 all-time) in the class. Second, Oregon's 2026 class is stacking up nicely, with Iheanacho, Kendre Harrison, and Jett Washington ranking as the No. 4, No. 14, and No. 16 all-time recruits for the Ducks.

Pair of Oklahoma Sooners named to Polynesian Player of the Year watch list

Oklahoma running back Jaydn Ott and defensive lineman Jayden Jackson were named to the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award watch list on Thursday. The award is given to the most outstanding college player of Polynesian ancestry who, according to the Polylnesian Football Hall of Fame, the organization that hands out the award, "exemplifies exceptional ability and integrity both on and off the field." Previous winners of the award, which has been given out since 2014 at the collegiate level, include former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and, most recently, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Jackson is a reigning Freshman All-American after a standout first season with the Sooners. He started 10 of the team's 13 games at defensive tackle, including three for-loss, with two sacks. When he started the team's season opener against Temple last year, Jackson became first freshman to start on the defensive line since Tommie Harris did so in 2001. Ott is preparing for his first year in Norman after transferring from California-Berkeley in the offseason. He was a first-team All-Pac 12 player two seasons ago after rushing for 1,315 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore. Last year, injuries bothered Ott, and he finished with just 385 yards and four touchdowns. Still, Ott ranked as a top-50 player in the transfer portal when he entered after the 2024 season and ultimately chose Oklahoma. The watch list includes 81 players from 40 different teams across Division I football. Four other SEC players were also named: Texas linebacker Liona Lefau, Texas A&M center Mark Nabou, Tennessee defensive lineman Jaxson Moi and Ole Miss cornerback Kapena Gushiken. 'Stunning' Oregon Cheerleader Is Very Ready For Football Season

'Stunning' Oregon Cheerleader Is Very Ready For Football Season originally appeared on The Spun. After winning the Big Ten Championship Game in their first season with the conference, the Oregon Ducks' title dream was cut short by the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff quarter-finals. But the team is ready for next season and expectations are going to be high again. While the team prepares to defend their conference title and hopefully climb higher, the cheerleading team are going to be doing their part as well. Among the many Oregon cheerleaders getting ready for 2025 is Annie Finemel, who has attracted plenty of attention for her preparations and dedication to the game. Finemel is heading into her second year with the cheerleading team. According to her Instagram page, she is also a member of the Oregon Chi Omega Greek organization and SAG. Between her Instagram and TikTok accounts, she boasts several thousand followers. Her content ranges from videos with her friends to posts telling her life's story and showing what she's had going on this summer: Expectations for 2025 The Ducks obviously won't have the exactly same lineup of players who won them the conference title last year. The biggest loss by far is quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who left for the NFL, leaving Dante Moore as the new starter despite throwing less than 10 passes for the Ducks last season. Nine other starters from last season wound up getting drafted in April, leaving nearly half of the starting lineup in need of big changes from head coach Dan Lanning. There's a pretty clear path back to the Big Ten Championship Game, if not the College Football Playoff, for the Ducks. After a game against FCS powerhouse Montana State, Oregon will play Oklahoma State, Northwestern and their arch-rivals Oregon State before things really kick into gear. Arguably their toughest game of the season will be the September 27 tilt against Penn State at Beaver Stadium. That will be followed by a game against top-25 Indiana. Round out the final half of their schedule will be Rutgers, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, USC and Washington. Nearly every game on that schedule looks winnable in some form or other. It's entirely within the realm of possibility that Oregon's only loss of the season comes to Penn State. Will the Ducks repeat as Big Ten champions? Top 2027 Florida defensive lineman will visit Notre Dame when they face Texas A&M

Notre Dame football has a few marquee home games this fall, but the contest on Sep. 13th against Texas A&M is beginning to look like its going to be a major recruiting weekend. Multiple prospects have already made their decision to be in South Bend for the game, and on Thursday another joined them in 2027 Florida defensive lineman Santana Harvey. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 220-pound prospect announced his fall visit schedule, as he will also make visits to see Clemson, Florida, SMU, and Michigan. Harvey will visit the Bulldogs twice this coming fall, so you have to believe that they are the current front runners in his recruitment. As the nation's No. 303 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, many top teams are in pursuit of the edge rusher. The Irish will have plenty to sell Harvey when he makes his visit, as they have shown they aren't afraid to play multiple defensive lineman, and true-freshman if they are ready. This could play a big part in Notre Dame's recruitment of the talented Floridian.
