71-Year-Old Jockey Perry Ouzts Approaching New Record originally appeared on Paulick Report. "Ironman" jockey Perry Ouzts, 71, will start a new record for starts in a Thoroughbred horse race in this Saturday's fifth race at Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. The veteran jockey will enter the starting gate for a 53,579th time, eclipsing the previous record set by retired California-based rider Russell Baze. At this writing, Ouzts sports a record of 53,570 starts– 7,514 wins – 7,013 seconds – 6,694 thirds, for earnings of $53,055,913. The next active rider is Hall of Famer John Velazquez with 37,363 mounts and 6,703 is also the record holder as the oldest jockey to win a race in North America — a feat he accomplished last summer. Ouzts has spent most of his career riding in Northern Kentucky and Ohio. Though he has never won a graded stakes race, he was the subject of an award-winning 2015 documentary "Ironman Perry Ouzts," produced by the Hennegan ranks fifth all-time in wins, trailing only Russell Baze (12,842 wins), Laffit Pincay Jr. (9,530), William Shoemaker (8,833), and Pat Day (8,803).Ouzts told John Engelhardt that loyalty has been a key factor in his success. He credits the support of trainers W.J. Danner, Larry Holt, Joe Woodard, Bill Connelly, Matt Kordenbrock, Barb Riley and Larry Smith for the many winners they have put him up on. He has also had the same agent, Jamie Fowler, for 38 years. Fowler contracted throat cancer in February of 2023 and has undergone 50 radiation treatments, several surgeries, and 10 months of physical therapy. This week, Fowler was declared cancer-free. According to Ouzts: 'I asked if he could still do the job from home when it was discovered, and with texting, video replays and other on-line features, he hasn't missed a beat.' He has won 35 meet titles at River Downs/Belterra Park, 13 titles at the now defunct, Beulah Park and 2 titles at Turfway Park. He won the last race at River Downs and the first race there under its new name Belterra Park. He was the first jockey to win a stakes race at 70 years old. His richest races won were the $200,000 Cradle Stakes (2007), the $100,000 Queen City Oaks (1988) and the $100,000 Green Carpet Stakes (this season). He won four races on a horse named Oats N' Ouzts. He and his wife, Toni have two sons – Kyle (35) and Tyler (32). This story was originally reported by Paulick Report on Jul 24, 2025, where it first appeared.

Gwyneth Paltrow Plays F, Marry, Kill With Her Costars
Gwyneth Paltrow just played "Fuck, Marry, Kill" with three of the hottest leading men in Hollywood, and her answers were absolute perfection. On a July 22 episode of The Goop Podcast, the 52-year-old actor sat down for a special "Ask Me Anything" where she shared whether or not she should have sex, marry, or get rid of three famous costars. The three actors in question were Robert Downey Jr., Timothée Chalamet, and Jude Law. Gwyneth starred in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man and Avengers franchises as Pepper Potts, the employee turned wife of Tony Stark (Robert). Gwyneth played Dickie Greenleaf's (Jude) girlfriend, Marge Sherwood, in 1999's The Talented Mr. Ripley. As for Timothée, Gwyneth is starring with him in the A24 film Marty Surpreme, slated for release on December 25, 2025. "This is impossible... there's no way I can answer this," Gwyneth said, before responding with the most logical answer. "I would marry Robert because we would just laugh so much and have such a fun, weird life and travel," she said. "And, anyway, I'm already, basically, I am married to him in movies, so what's the difference?" At first, she landed on Jude for "fuck" sharing it's "only because it's like robbing the cradle, really, if I do it with Timothée. I think my children would kill me if I did that." That left Gwyneth with only one person to kill, but then the Goop founder flipped the switch on the problematic game with an answer that had me snapping my fingers and saying, "yes, queen." "I'm gonna marry and fuck all three, how's that?" she added. "I'm a modern woman, I'm not killing anymore. Peace out." How about that, indeed? To be honest, this type of game shouldn't exist in the first place because what do you mean you have to "kill" somebody? But I appreciate Gwyneth's answer, because why should you be forced to choose one or the other? Everybody can get it. Funnily enough, this isn't the first time she's been presented with this wacky ultimatum. On a 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper, Gwyneth played the game with her real-life exes: Brad Pitt, whom she dated from 1994 to 1997, after meeting on the set of the movie Se7en. They were engaged in 1996 before breaking it off a year later. Ben Affleck, whom she dated from 1999 to 2000. They starred in a couple of films together, like Shakespeare in Love (1998) and Bounce (2000). And her ex-husband Chris Martin, whom she married from 2003 before they consciously uncoupled in 2014, and split in 2016. They share two children, Apple and Moses. Long story short, Gwyneth, who described Brad as "the sort of major chemistry, love of your life, kind of, at the time," chose to F him. As for who to marry, she picked the easy answer and said she would marry Chris and "Do that all again" since "he gave me my two children, who are the loves of my life." Unfortunately, that left Ben with the less desirable option from the game. "Ben, yeah, bless him," she said, noting that he was "technically excellent" in bed, so it wasn't all bad for The Accountant star. Watch to the full episode The Goop Podcast to see Gwyneth talk about less salacious topics like about hormone therapy, menopause, and her favorite foods.
