Pedestrian transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries after crash with vehicle

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital after a collision with a vehicle Tuesday afternoon, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of North Avenue and 28 3/4 Road. The victim has life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department.
Eastbound lanes on North Avenue will be closed for several hours as investigators remain on site. GJPD asks the community to find a different travel route during that time.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two pedestrians were seriously injured when they were hit by a driver in a stolen car who was fleeing from a traffic stop in the Pearl District early Sunday afternoon. Around 1 p.m., officers spotted the stolen Kia near NW 9th and Burnside and tried to stop it. But the driver took off instead, and police said they did not pursue. The driver then turned onto Northwest Glisan, lost control and crashed into the pedestrians near Northwest 6th. The pedestrians were rushed to a hospital, but neither their exact conditions nor their names have been released. Jacoby Bush, who works in the area, told KOIN 6 News he saw the car racing down the street and go towards a bunch of people before crashing into a fence. 'There was a big group of people over there.
