Hailey Bieber has had a big week with the release of her first extended interview since welcoming her son, Jack Blues, in Vogue. The model revealed in the piece that her beauty brand, Rhode, will be coming to Sephora this fall, saying, 'In my wildest dreams, it's already gone beyond what I would've hoped for.'
While her comments made headlines, her husband, Justin Bieber, posted an Instagram about her achievement that also drew some attention. In a since-edited caption, he revealed details about an argument they had where he told her that she would never land a Vogue cover. 'Yikes I know, so mean,' he admitted. He went on to apologize for trying to 'get even' with her during the fight and asked for her forgiveness for the comment because 'clearly I was sadly mistaken.'
His remarks sparked a lot of discussion. But one person not engaging was Bieber's ex Selena Gomez, who made a subtle move to celebrate Hailey's career milestone. The singer liked Sephora's Instagram post about the Rhode announcement:
Gomez also posted an unrelated Instagram Story, reminding everyone that they matter. 'You know who you are, and I'm cheering you on,' Gomez wrote.
Gomez has publicly shown support for Hailey before, especially in 2023 when people on TikTok started dissecting Gomez and Hailey's history. She followed Hailey on Instagram and shared an Instagram Story, asking people to stop harassing the model.
'Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn't what I stand for,' Gomez wrote. 'No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. ♥️'
Hailey thanked Gomez for her support and later spoke about her disappointment that people pitted them against each other in the first place.
'I don't like this whole idea of Team This Person and Team This Person,' she said on The Circuit With Emily Chang. 'I'm just not about that. I want to be able to bring people together. I think that was a really important moment for people to see that you can do that. And you can bring people together and it doesn't have to be about this divisive nature.'
The idea of two women 'being pitted against each other because of a guy? It's awful,' Hailey added. 'I hate it. I've hated it since the beginning. And I think that kind of goes back to a little bit of just being misunderstood when it's like time and time again I don't know why I keep having to say, and we keep having to say, that there is no issue and there is no problem. It's so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man. It's the world we live in, unfortunately.'

Coldplay returns to the stage with a warning: ‘We're going to use our cameras'

Coldplay returned to the stage for the first time since a viral 'Kiss Cam' incident at one of their concerts made global headlines and prompted the resignation of a tech CEO. While the band did not directly acknowledge the controversy, frontman Chris Martin gave a tongue-in-cheek nod to the episode during their performance at Camp Randall Stadium in Wisconsin on Saturday, July 19. 'We'd like to say hello to some of you in the crowd,' Martin told the cheering audience during the now-infamous 'Jumbotron Song' portion of the concert, according to a clip shared on social media. 'How we're going to do that is we're going to use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen.' He added, 'So please, if you haven't done your makeup, do your makeup now.' The remark comes just days after a show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Wednesday, July 1, where a couple's panicked reaction to being shown on the venue's Jumbotron ignited an online firestorm. The woman quickly turned away, and the man ducked out of view as the camera landed on them. 'Oh, look at these two! Oh what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy,' Martin said to the crowd at the time. The man was later identified as Andy Byron, then CEO of data company Astronomer. Byron resigned on Saturday, July 19, following days of Internet scrutiny and his placement on leave. Byron had served as CEO of the company since 2023. He has two children with his wife, educator Megan Kerrigan Byron. Astronomer, in a statement, cited the importance of leadership accountability and maintaining company values. The woman in the video, identified in some reports as Kristin Cabot, the firm's chief human resources officer, has reportedly also been placed on leave. While Coldplay has not issued a formal statement, the band's Instagram recap of the Madison show omitted any reference to the incident.

Last year, a clip from the Beckhams' Netflix documentary went viral after David Beckham was filmed chiding his wife Victoria to "be honest" after she claimed her family was working class despite her dad driving a Rolls-Royce. Now it appears she has gotten her own payback. On Sunday, the former Spice Girl, 51, shared a video on Instagram of David holding his head in his hands. "What have you done?" she asked, off-screen, while the former England football captain looked decidedly sheepish. Victoria then repeats her question, while already beginning to laugh. "You tried to give yourself a haircut. What have you done?" she asks. The 50-year-old former football reluctantly peeled his hand away from his head revealing a sizeable iron-shaped bald spot. "It's not funny," David protested, shaking his head as Victoria burst out laughing. "It does not look good," she added, before reminding her husband what he has told her about being "honest" in the past. "I'm going to always be honest with you, it looks terrible," she said. Proving he has a good sense of humor about his wife's ribbing, David later shared the clip on his own Instagram page, with a caption directed at Victoria. "You don't always need to BE THAT HONEST." Instagram The Beckhams' documentary, titled, Beckham, went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series in 2024. The director, Fisher Stevens, later said in an interview that he was "p***ed" with David for interrupting his interview with Victoria in that now-viral moment. Beckham editor Michael Harte agreed, saying what happened "totally flipped the scene on its head," but that it was "one of the most honest scenes" in the four-part special. "You get a true insight into their relationship and the way they interact," Harte said, but suggested the biggest challenge was where to include the "incredible" interaction. David previously spoke about the incident that became a viral meme to The Hollywood Reporter, confirming Stevens was "very angry with me over that."
