Lexie Hull Reacts to Indiana Fever News on Sunday
The Indiana Fever got some good news on Sunday following their disappointing 89-87 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday. Kelsey Mitchell was named an All-Star reserve for the upcoming 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis on July 19.

Mitchell, who is averaging a career-best 19.3 points on 45.5% shooting, 1.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.3 triples per game this season, will be joining All-Star captain Caitlin Clark and All-Star starter Aliyah Boston in what will be Mitchell's third consecutive appearance in the All-Star Game.
In the loss to the Sparks, Mitchell posted 19 points on 8-of-17 shots, including three triples.
Congratulations have poured in for the 29-year-old veteran, including a two-word message from Indiana teammate Lexie Hull.
"yes ma'am 🥳" Hull wrote on Instagram, sharing the Fever's congratulatory post.

It is worth noting that Hull was one of the top WNBA players who received the most fan votes for the All-Star Game. She ranked eighth overall with 633,968 total votes, which speaks volumes about her popularity among the fans.
However, since the media, players and coaches also vote to determine the starters and the reserves, Hull ultimately missed out on what would have been her first All-Star appearance.

The Fever will be well-represented in the All-Star Game, though, with no less than three players from the squad taking part in the festivities.
As captain, Clark will get the opportunity to draft her own All-Star squad, which means that she could potentially be teammates with both Boston and Mitchell in the big game.

Gilmore Could Be Tug-Of-War Signing For Cowboys vs. Eagles
Gilmore Could Be Tug-Of-War Signing For Cowboys vs. Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The entirety of the Philadelphia Eagles put on a display of dominance last season that culminated in a triumph in Super Bowl LIX. Looking around the depth chart, any weakness was hard to identify if even applicable. Advertisement The Dallas Cowboys, their NFC East rivals, cannot at this time quite make that boast. Philadelphia's defensive front led by monstrous defensive tackle Jalen Carter earned plenty of shine and linebacker Zack Baun became one of the best stories around the NFL. In some ways, the excellence of the Eagles' secondary took a back seat. But that did not stop a breakout campaign from their young stars. Both Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean shined in their rookie seasons. Eli Ricks and Kelee Ringo represent the other budding pieces in the secondary all ready to repeat their success again in 2025. But could this group explore the addition of some veteran talent? Advertisement Super Bowl champion and NFL Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore remains a free agent. Gilmore has no leaning as to his next destination. Though he's made it clear he wants to play – it just has to be in the "right situation." Dallas Cowboys fans are clamoring for "America's Team'' to bring back "Gilly,'' an effective player for the team in 2023. But if he wants the insider track to a Super Bowl? If this becomes an NFC East tug-of-war? The Eagles signed Adoree' Jackson during free agency so there is some veteran flavor to this young cornerbacks room. However, Gilmore became a mercenary to help contending teams in the latter stages of his career and joining the Eagles would be a strong decision on his part if he seeks another shot at a championship. Advertisement For Philadelphia (as with Dallas), it's a move that would not, in theory, cost a lot. While the Eagles are more aggressive in these situations, thanks to general manager Howie Roseman, Jerry Jones is in wait-and-see mode. They have valid needs at the position as DaRon Bland is the only healthy and proven guy. In the end, it might be Gilmore's choice and one he might not make until training camps begin July 22. Nationals loosen up and earn interim skipper Miguel Cairo his first win
ST. LOUIS — The Washington Nationals' first win under interim manager Miguel Cairo was textbook with contributions coming from players central to the club's rebuild and veterans brought on to usher it along. Wednesday night's 8-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium included six strong innings from left-hander MacKenzie Gore (one run, seven strikeouts), the 24th home run from James Wood (a casual 115.9 mph off the bat) and. perhaps more important, several key hits from other parts of the lineup.

Perez and Caglianone power Royals to 4-3 win over Pirates for 3-game sweep
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Salvador Perez homered twice, Jac Caglianone hit the longest measured homer by a Royals rookie, and Kansas City beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 on Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep. Perez broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning with his longball off Isaac Mattson (2-1). He opened the scoring with a 444-foot shot to center in the second. But the most impressive homer of the game belonged to Caglianone — a 466-foot, two-run drive to center in the fourth against Bailey Falter. It was the longest homer by a Royals rookie since Statcast started tracking in 2015 and the fourth-longest by any Kansas City player at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have won six of seven overall. They did not have a multi-homer game this season before doing it Monday night against Pittsburgh, and now they've done it three games in a row. Kansas City hit nine homers in the series. Pittsburgh fell to 0-6 on its nine-game trip ahead of the All-Star break after getting shut out in three straight games at Seattle. Perez had his second multi-homer game of the season and 19th of his career, extending his franchise record. Lucas Erceg (4-2) worked a scoreless eighth and Carlos Estevez pitched the ninth for his 25th save. Ke'Bryan Hayes had a two-run single in the Pirates' three-run sixth. Key moment Perez sent the first pitch of the eighth to the walkway just short of the fountains in right-center. Key stat Kansas City swept a series at home for the first time since a four-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox in early May. Up next Pirates: Begin a three-game series at Minnesota on Friday. Royals: Host the New York Mets for three games starting Friday. ___ AP MLB:
