I'VE fully embraced spring this month - winter dragged on for far too long, so as soon as the clocks went back, my heavy knits and chunky boots got packed away.

These are my top picks of the month

Even when the weather isn't playing ball, Glossier You Fleur, £70 for 50ml EDP, has helped keep my spring spirit alive.

The fragrance has notes of apricot and cashmere

Glossier You Fleur, £70 for 50ml EDP
It has a saltiness that immediately transports you to the beach, with fruity apricot and the comforting, warm woody, cashmere notes of the original Glossier You - I've been wearing it daily, and can still smell it on my clothes in the laundry basket!
I'm a big believer in a pick-and-mix beauty routine - every brand has products it does really well, and others that are a bit of a flop, so I wouldn't recommend a multi-step routine from the same brand before, but the latest launch from Irish brand Sculpted By Aimee has turned that on its head.

Brighten and awaken tired eyes

Sculpted By Aimee Brighten Up Energising Eye Cream, £26

RARING TO GO Rare Beauty has just launched another blush - but will this one go viral?
There's not a single dud in the three-product strong Glow Collection - Sculpted By Aimee Energising Eye Cream, £26, has a cooling metal applicator that has been a godsend for my hayfever-riddled eyes and a super-lightweight consistency that feels instantly soothing on delicate undereye skin.

This serum stars calming niacinamide
Credit: SCULPTED BY AIMEE
Sculpted By Aimee LiquidGlo Brightening Essence, £24
Sculpted By Aimee LiquidGlo Brightening Essence, £24, is packed with my favourite skincare ingredient - niacinamide, which is an all-rounder that helps balance oil production, calm inflammation and reduce texture - in a water-like formula that's virtually weightless on skin and doesn't leave behind any sticky residue, so you can layer it with pretty much anything.

Clear and brighten your complexion

Sculpted By Aimee Hydrabright Illuminating Serum, £30
Finally, the star of the show, Sculpted By Aimee Hydrabright Illuminating Serum, £30, is the only vitamin C serum I've ever managed to use consistently.
I often find they're greasy, and pretty much every one I've tried has caused my skin to break out, but it's been a month and my skin is looking better than ever - the only thing it's added is more glow!

This serum tackles numerous skin concerns
Credit: THE INKEY LIST
The Inkey List Exosome Hydro-Glow Complex, £20
I've also been using The Inkey List Exosome Hydro-Glow Complex, £20, morning and night since it launched at the start of the month.
Founders Mark Curry and Colette Laxton told me it's the jack of all trades (and master of them too!) so will improve pretty much every skin concern, and make the rest of the products in my routine also work harder.
I'm no scientist, so I can't confirm if that's true, but given the current state of my skin, I'm inclined to agree with them.
Again, glow is a major focus, but as someone who usually runs from the word given my oily, spot-prone complexion, I'm happy to report the serum feels like silk without any sign of oiliness.

The new gen of mineral sunscreen is impressive
Credit: ULTRA VIOLETTE
Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen, £38
SPF is always the last step in my morning routine - if you're not already wearing it daily, let the recent sunny weather persuade you otherwise - and Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF50+ Superlight Mineral Skinscreen, £38, has unexpectedly become my go-to.
I say unexpectedly, as it's made from mineral sunscreen filters, which I thought I hated (they're often thick and oily) but this new gen is super-fluid, and absorbs almost instantly, so it doesn't interfere with my make-up.
The White Lotus' Aimee Lou Wood reveals her exact make-up routine to get that signature glow and opens up on 'drawing attention' to her gap tooth

I've been wearing this SPF50 instead of foundation
Credit: SUPERGOOP!
Supergoop! Protec(Tint) Daily SPF Tint SPF50, £40
For days when I'm not wearing a full face of glam, I've been using Supergoop! Protec(Tint) Daily SPF Tint SPF50, £40, in place of foundation, thanks to the buildable coverage.
It blends easily, so it's not at all patchy which can be a problem with some skin tints - plus, it has a slightly thicker, more hydrating consistency that leaves my skin feeling moisturised all day.

These brushes feature easy-grip handles and feather-soft bristles
Credit: VICTORIA BECKHAM BEAUTY
Victoria Beckham Beauty The Brush Collection, from £30
Victoria Beckham Beauty The Brush Collection, from £30, is the launch that has wowed me the most this month - inspired by calligraphy tools, the walnut handles are shaped to fit perfectly in your hand, and the bristles are densely packed to pick up pigment, while feeling feather-soft.
To get the best value for money, I'd buy the double-ended versions first, but a word of warning: once you've bought one, you're going to want more, so it might be worth buying the Custom Brush Set, which is fully customisable - you have to pick at least three of the nine-strong collection to save 10%. Who doesn't love a discount?!

Aimee Lou Wood wraps up on snowy festive set as she films exciting new Christmas advert

The White Lotus and Sex Education star Amy Lou Wood has been pictured getting into the festive mood as she is filming for Marks & Spencer's new Christmas advert Aimee Lou Wood has been pictured on a picturesque set of a Christmassy street filled with festive decorations and the streets lined with snow as she takes on her latest filming project. ‌ The White Lotus and Sex Education star, 31, is currently filming for the new Marks & Spencer Christmas advert. The upmarket food and lifestyle shop's Christmas adverts have become somewhat of a staple around the festive period – rivalling the likes of John Lewis, Aldi and other brands with its Christmas campaigns. ‌ And it seems M&S are pulling out all the stops once again and have this time recruited actress Aimee to be at the helm of this year's festive offering. ‌ Photos show Aimee shunning the scorching heatwave and imagining a chillier climate as she is dressed in a faux-fur, cheetah print inspired jacket with a collar and long sleeves. The gorgeous jacket is paired with some fashionable, black wide leg trousers and heeled boots with a pointed toe. Aimee had her long brunette locks styled down and in soft waves with a middle parting to frame her face. The actress looks to be getting into the festive spirit on set as she's seen pulling a funny face and pumping her hands up to the sky – in clear excitement over her next filming project. In other snaps, Aimee appears to be taking a break from wearing the thick furry jacket in the middle of the August heatwave as she folds it over her arms while standing with other actors on set. Aimee was embracing the cameras snapping photos of her on the set as she was seen holding two peace signs up and confidently pouting as a photographer snapped away. ‌ Other snaps see her with hair and stylist specialists to ensure her look for the highly-anticipated festive ad is seamless. Meanwhile, a broader view of the magical set gives us an early idea on what to expect from this year's advert. A festive, traditional high street is laden with massive baubles, traditional lamp posts decorated with snow and festive wreaths while a number of snowy trees are also pictured on the set. ‌ Finally, a shop is decorated with green busy garlands, bows and festive green wreaths while the floor is covered in a layer of snow. The stunning actress rose to fame on Netflix 's hit series, Sex Education, where she played the loveable Aimee Gibbs. She went on to become a massive star with a legion of loyal fans. ‌ Fans were over the moon when she was announced as a main cast member for series three of The White Lotus. She played Walton Goggins' young girlfriend, Chelsea, and became a huge hit with international audiences. She also stars in Netflix's Toxic Town and co-created BBC's upcoming series, Film Club. ‌ The Stockport-born star has been open about her life and previously opened up on learning to love herself while overcoming issues with low self esteem. While Aimee was still at school, her parents split up, and her mother's new partner paid for her to attend a fancy private school. However, she was the target of bullies and it further dented her confidence. Despite her difficulties, however, Aimee found solace in acting, studying for a drama A Level at Cheadle Hume School before studying at the Oxford School of Drama, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). ‌ Barely two years after graduating in 2017, she got the role in Sex Education and the rest was history. She even scooped up the British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance. In a 2020 interview with Glamour, Aimee shared how she had suffered from body dysmorphia all her life, revealing: "When I think back now, I was so harsh to myself. I actually wrote on my mirror when I was younger, "fat," in lipstick so that every day I'd go to it and go, "Okay, just remind yourself that that's what you are." Despite struggling with confidence issues, she threw herself into Sex Education's explicit scenes and made her first topless appearance. She said of her decision: "With the masturbation montage, even with all the unflattering angles I thought, 'Think of the young girls that are going to be watching this and going, 'Oh thank God, that's what I do,' or, 'we don't always look perfect'. "I remember before the first sex scene, I thought, "Right, okay. I'll start eating salads every day," and I just didn't. That was such a turning point for me, making that decision to go, 'Actually, I'm not going to alter how my body looks before this scene because this is how my body looks'."

Glossier's ‘refreshing' hair perfume that ‘lasts so long' pulls in rave reviews

The two scents share woody notes that has one shopper insisting makes them 'identical' Glossier's hair and body spritz is pulling in rave reviews on Sephora, where the £35 spritz is being described as 'identical' to a much more expensive product. The spritz comes in two scents: Sandstone and Orange Blossom Neroli, but the former seems to be the most popular. Sandstone is a blend of sandalwood, clary sage and fresh fig leaf which gives a fairly woody end result. One shopper said that the mist is 'identical' to Jo Malone London's Wood, Sage and Sea Salt which is more more expensive at £82 for a 50ml bottle. Hair and body sprays typically lean a lot sweeter than the Glossier option, with Sol de Janeiro being one of the most popular options known for their fruity summer scents. So far the Glossier hair perfume has pulled in an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 on Sephora. 'I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake and this 99p low-calorie drink converted me' Harrods beauty advent calendar returns after fragrance one sold out in 48 hours One shopper praised the longevity, writing: "This lasts SO LONG. Lots of compliments. Unlike anything else I own! And I love the body spritz format rather than the perfume, I feel like I can spray this all over my body and it won't be too overpowering." While another said: "Love love love the scent. It's the perfect all over spray that just clings to your hair and clothes and is so refreshing. I thought I'd be a fan of the other scent more, but this one is perfect for everyday use." One shopper found the longevity lacking, saying: "I ordered this in Sandstone. It's not a strong fragrance and the lasting power isn't great. The packaging even says to spritz liberally as the first step in your scent routine. It's herbaceous and woody, so if you like fruity florals then this one won't be for you. I do like the scent. I just wish there was more to it." It is always worth remembering that perfume mists are never intended to have the same lasting power as eau de parfums. Glossier does have Sandstone available in both a Daily Oil Wash cleanser for £28 as well as an £18 deodorant and a £28 lotion. When using the same scent in multiple products it can have a stronger impact. Another shopper was impressed by the longevity and even compared it to a much more expensive option on the high street. "Smells great and lasts a long time on clothes, but I will say if you have wood sage and sea salt from Jo Malone, you don't need this. They smell identical to me. I would buy again though when I run out."

Montrose football coach wins £3.5k on BBC music quiz show The Hit List

A Montrose football coach has won a £3,500 prize on a popular BBC music quiz show. Aimee Culley and dad Mark appeared on The Hit List on Saturday night. The programme, hosted by singers Rochelle and Marvin Humes, sees contestants name as many hit songs as they can to win up to £10,000. The father-daughter duo were up against Joel and Caitlin from Coventry and Sam and Hannah from Felixstowe. In the first round, the players had to name hits from the past five decades by identifying the songs from a brief clip. Aimee, who also played for Montrose from 2017 to 2024, and Mark successfully named three out of five songs. Then, teams were asked to guess songs that had won Brit Awards and were given the chance to guess another song to win a bonus point. It was easy work for Mark and Aimee, from Aberdeen, who identified songs by Pink, Eurythmics and Cliff Richard, as well as three bonus tracks. The Montrose Women's coach correctly named Lewis Capaldi's Grace to reach 10 points, meaning Sam and Hannah were eliminated. Next, the duo went head-to-head with Joe and Caitlin. With 45 seconds on the clock and three skip options, contestants were given a clue and the start of a track. They had to name songs as quickly as possible. Aimee and her dad stormed ahead in this round, successfully identifying songs by artists including The Beach Boys, Nelly Furtado and Charli XCX. They had 22 seconds and two skips left when Joe and Caitlin were knocked out. That left Aimee and Mark to take on the final round and play for £10,000 by naming 10 songs and artists. The more time they took, the less money they would end up with. It was a rocky start, with the money dropping to £9,310 before they guessed Christina Aguilera's Candyman. There was a tense moment as Aimee and Mark had to skip six songs they did not know as the clock ran down, finally identifying Facination by Alphabeat at the £4,562 mark. The pair finished strongly, only skipping two more songs before Aimee named Only Love Can Hurt Like This by Paloma Faith to secure £3,598, which she said would help her celebrate her birthday. Montrose FC Women congratulated the duo on Facebook, saying: 'The pair absolutely smashed it, walking away with a great win. 'Looks like that big birthday party invite is definitely in the post now. 'Well done Team Culley!'
