Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning box office collection Day 16: Tom Cruise starrer hits Rs 90 crore mark on third weekend

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning continues to hold strong at the Indian box office, crossing the Rs 90 crore milestone on its 16th day of release. According to early estimates from the film collected Rs 3.75 crore net across all languages on its third Sunday, maintaining steady traction over the weekend. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Directed by , the high-octane action sequel had a robust opening, garnering Rs 54.4 crore in its first week. However, its second-week earnings dipped sharply to Rs 26.75 crore, prompting concerns about its long-term performance. Despite the slowdown, The Final Reckoning rebounded over the third weekend. It earned Rs 1.9 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 3.65 crore on Saturday, and peaked at Rs 3.75 crore on Sunday. This brought its cumulative Indian box office collection to an estimated Rs 90.45 crore. The strong weekend performance suggests that the Mission: Impossible franchise continues to resonate with Indian audiences. However, whether it can surpass the Rs 110.3 crore total earned by last year's Dead Reckoning Part One over a nine-week run remains uncertain. Globally, the film added an estimated $27.3 million from 3,861 locations in the US. International markets contributed another $76.1 million—$25.2 million of which came from its China debut—bringing its worldwide total to approximately $353.8 million. While its global earnings are tracking in line with the previous two instalments, the film is still far from recouping its reported $400 million production budget, raising questions about its overall profitability. As the third weekend wraps up, all eyes remain on whether the Cruise-led blockbuster can sustain its box office momentum and secure a place among the highest-grossing titles in the Mission: Impossible series in India.

Udit Arora reacts to criticism against The Royals, calls Bhumi Pednekar getting trolled ‘unfortunate'

Netflix's 2025 romantic comedy-drama series The Royals, starring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar, has faced significant backlash from both Indian royal families and viewers. Beyond the royal critique, the series received mixed to negative reactions from audiences. While some praised the show's aesthetics and Ishaan's performance, many criticised the storyline for being weak and the characters for lacking depth. Bhumi Pednekar's portrayal, in particular, was labelled as "unbearable" by some viewers. (Also Read: The Royals season 2 announced, creator Rangita Pritish Nandy says they listened to both 'good and ugly' feedback) Now, in an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, Udit Arora, who essayed the role of Kunal, Bhumi's business partner in the series, reacted to the controversy surrounding the series and also defended Bhumi, who has faced significant trolling on social media for her performance. Recently, Baroda's Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad slammed the portrayal of royal families in the show, and before this, heritage platform Royal Fables called out Netflix for misinterpreting modern-day royals in the series. Reacting to the backlash and criticism, Udit said, "We never said it's based on a true story, so I don't know who is having a problem with what. Honestly, I have not followed any news on that, so I have no idea what they are comparing it to and what aspect they are taking from the show and saying it's wrong. Because it's a fictional show at the end of the day and it's there for entertainment purpose. It's a satire on the lives of the royal families. So I think it's pretty clear so I don't know what's the problem with that actually." A post shared by Udit Arora (@justudit) Udit spoke about the harsh criticism Bhumi had to go through for her performance and said, "Every artiste on the set goes out with the attention of doing something good, and we give our best. People may like or dislike whatever they want, there's no hold on that. As much as we are exposing ourselves to the praise, we are also exposing ourselves to the criticism. It has also gone to another level, being behind the screen and typing what you like. So I have my own reservations on that. She has given her heart and soul to the project and is giving her 100%, being there with everyone. I think she is a brilliant actor. So people can like or dislike whatever they want, it's upto them." When asked if he found the harsh comments against Bhumi unfair, keeping in mind that actors have become easy targets for trolls on social media, Udit said, "In the age of social media, people can do whatever they want. I don't know who these people are, and they need to grow up and have a life, honestly. It's just very unfortunate. But at the end of the day, I think it should not be taken too seriously because they are who they are, you can't give too much importance to their opinions. They are just noise. So I think every actor needs to focus on what they are doing, and even if there's a bump on the road, it's absolutely fine, you can move ahead. As a community, we need to support each other. As humans, we need to support and be kind to each other. So, hatred moves faster than love. So I think we need better support and love for everyone." Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and written by Neha Veena Sharma, the series follows the story of a financially struggling royal family in modern-day India, whose fortunes take an unexpected turn when the heir teams up with a hospitality entrepreneur to revive their ancestral palace as a luxury resort. The romantic comedy-drama, also starring Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman, has now been renewed for a second season despite the criticism.

Mission Impossible 8 Box Office Day 15: Tom Cruise's Film Earns Rs 3.5 Crore

Last Updated: Mission Impossible 8, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, earned Rs 86.41 crore in India. Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 8 entered the third week in India on a strong note. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and co-written with Erik Jendresen, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning marks Tom Cruise's final outing as the legendary spy Ethan Hunt. The film also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett. After a bit of a slow second week, the action-packed film picked up again over the weekend with a good jump in earnings. On Day 14 (the second Friday), it made Rs 1.76 crore, and on Day 15 (the third Saturday), the collections went up to Rs 3.50 crore, according to early estimates. With this, the film's total box office collection in India across all languages has reached a strong Rs 86.41 crore. Tom Cruise had even thanked everyone for the response his film received. In a note, he wrote, 'This weekend was one for the history books! Congratulations and thank you to every filmmaker, every artist, every crew member, and every single person who works at the studios. To every theater and every employee who helps bring these stories to audiences, thank you. To every one that works at Paramount Pictures and Skydance, thank you for your many years of partnership and unwavering support. And most of all, THANK YOU to audiences everywhere for whom we all serve and for whom we all LOVE to entertain." Mission Impossible 8 had released on May 17 after a successful premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. It earned over five-minute standing ovation. Ahead of the release, Tom Cruise had left Indian fans delighted by speaking in Hindi during a promotional video. 'Main aap sab se bahut pyaar karta hoon. Mujpe bharosa karo, ek akhri baar (I love you all a lot. Trust me one last time)," he said. He also shared his fond memories of visiting India, adding, 'I feel so much love for India. I have to say the whole experience has been etched in my memory. Every single moment. From the moment I landed, going to the Taj Mahal, and spending time in Mumbai, I remember each moment quite vividly." A part of News18's review of the film read, 'But what truly sets The Final Reckoning apart is its tone. It's not just an action blockbuster. It's an elegy. A goodbye. A thank-you. And somehow, despite all the chaos, it's also a reckoning with legacy, with sacrifice, with what it really means to be a hero when the world keeps moving the goalpost. The Final Reckoning is the most fitting, heart-racing, gut-wrenching finale Ethan Hunt could've asked for. If this really is the last mission, then hats off, Mr. Cruise. You didn't just complete it. You aced it." First Published:
