Pedro Pascal Claps Back At Trolls With Hugs, Hearts, And Humor
Pedro Pascal tackles online hate with humor and kindness, using heart emojis and warm messages. Learn about his approach and latest film, Sand Mama.
Pedro Pascal, known for his charming personality, has broken his silence on the unexpected online hate he has been receiving for the past few weeks. But instead of treating the situation with anger, he has undertaken a kinder and humorous approach. It all started during the promotions of his latest film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Naysayers started questioning whether the Hollywood star was 'too nice to be real", although they failed to pinpoint anything particular.
Additionally, Pedro Pascal's social media posts have been flooded with memes related to characters like Detective James Doakes from the show Dexter, alongside others such as Suspicious Ned Flanders and Philip Fry. All of them have one thing in common — the fact that something was not right about Pedro. Now, the 50-year-old has finally decided to address these assumptions.
On Tuesday (August 5), Pedro Pascal shared a post on Instagram, urging fans to watch his new movie, Sand Mama. His side note read, 'Sand Mama premieres TODAY on Film Shortage. Written and directed by my BFF Catherine Loerke and starring Tony Winner Miriam Silverman. Watch it, it's beautiful."

Needless to mention, hate comments targeted the post too, but this time, Pedro Pascal responded to them with love. Under several suspicious GIFs and memes, the Materialists star replied with heart and kiss emojis. He also added warm messages like 'come here, hug it out." When one critic jokingly asked him for a million dollars, Pedro asked, 'Venmo?" in jest.
Pedro Pascal Controversy — From Where It Started
Pedro Pascal's online backlash began when he was seen hugging and leaning on his The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby for comfort in several interviews. Many found their equation to be sweet and backed Pedro, as he had earlier talked about his anxiety and how he finds support in his co-stars. A certain section of the masses, however, started growing suspicious of his 'too nice" gestures, implying that there was something off about the actor.
Another theory suggests that Pedro Pascal's strong opinion about JK Rowling was what might have caused the criticism. He once called the Harry Potter author a 'heinous loser" for supporting a UK court ruling stating that trans women shouldn't be considered women legally.

Get to know... Ridhi Dogra
Currently I am: Travelling and working on something exciting. Actor Ridhi Dogra says she's attracted to a person's energy and their eyes. High point in life: Every time I was scared to do something and went ahead and did it. Low point in life: Losing loved ones. It's heartbreaking, but one learns to make room for grief. On my playlist: Hawaayein, from Jab Harry Met Sejal; Hanuman Chalisa, by Shekhar Ravjiani; Come Undone, by Robbie Williams One thing I would never buy: Trending products by luxury brands, which are pretending to be essentials. I despise this kind of marketing. Today I'm craving: A bagel. Last thing I ordered online: Uncle Chipps. App I check before bed: Instagram. Advice I'd give my 18-year-old self: None. 18-year-old me was a rockstar. I continue to learn from her. My favourite subject in school: English. I'd swipe right on: Nothing. I'm not into virtual dating. I'm attracted to energy and eyes. My secret skill is: Being calm in nasty situations. A superpower I wish I had: To shine my light on the world. My favourite Sunday memory: I'm from Delhi. On Sunday's I'd swim and gorge on cheese balls with Nani at the club. Visiting Nani's house meant pampering. She recharged my batteries. My most star-struck moment: Meeting Shah Rukh Khan when I worked with him on Jawan. He's an incredibly blessed soul. I was talking gibberish. My favourite bad habit: Giving people the benefit of the doubt when it's not needed. If I could travel back or forward in time, I'd…: Go forward. Backwards is done. Forward could save me a lot of worrying. The best thing about fame: It's temporary. You can focus on the real things. The worst thing about fame: It's temporary. If you get too attached to it, you're screwed. . From HT Brunch, August 09, 2025 Follow us on

Sharing a video of the recipe, the woman wrote in the caption, "Marry Me Lentils, perfect mix between a cozy stew/soup! I'm obsessed with the marry me flavours - a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce with basil, lemon, and cheese. The nutty lentils work so perfectly with the other ingredients, served with crusty sourdough" Named Yasmin, the woman has an Instagram account "By The Forkful" where she shares vegetarian recipes and enjoys a following of 54.8K. Due to the recipe and its resemblance to the Indian dish, her reel has gone viral on social media and has garnered over 15,922 likes and 2,281 comments. What was the woman's recipe? In a pan, she added veggies such as onion, garlic and sun-dried tomato sauce along with spices such as smoked paprika. After mixing and cooking the mix, she added boiled lentils, hot water and some cream to it. She topped off the dish with cheese, lemon juice and basil. How does it relate to Dal Makhani? Dal Makhani is a dish originating from the Indian state of Punjab. It is a thick, soup-based dish that is served alongside roti (Indian flatbread) or rice. "Girl, that's daal makkhani. Where are the credits?" pointed one out. "Bro, it's literally dal makhani (they made it white without credits like everything else)😂 you'll find the authentic recipe on YouTube (for those who are new and curious)," added one. "Glorified Dal Makhni! The least you can do is give credits to were you got "inspired" from!" commented an Instagram user. One of the people in the comments pointed out how the woman's entire page featured reimagined Indian recipes, writing, "Your whole page is inspired by indian cuisine, you use Indian spices but why is it so hard for you white people to accept that we took inspiration and give the due credits. You people stole our yoga, jewellery, dance forms, fashion, food and who knows what else" "We gave the world spices and forgot to give ourselves credit. Now we're getting 'Marry Me Lentils' with a side of identity crisis," commented a person on X.
