Linda Yaccarino is officially stepping down as CEO of X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, marking the end of her two-year tenure at the company. Yaccarino confirmed her decision today, but there's no word yet on who will take the helm next.
'When @elonmusk and I first spoke of his vision for X, I knew it would be the opportunity of a lifetime to carry out the extraordinary mission of this company,' Yaccarino shared. 'I'm immensely grateful to him for entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App.'

Her exit follows recent turbulence, including xAI's controversial update to its Grok chatbot, which has been criticised for promoting antisemitic content and praise for Hitler.
Yaccarino, who previously served as an advertising executive at NBC Universal, was named CEO in May 2023, shortly after Elon Musk's acquisition and rebranding of Twitter to X. Musk had stated then that Yaccarino would focus on the business side while he concentrated on product design and technology.
Despite efforts to transform the company, X has faced stiff competition from Meta's Threads—now boasting over 350 million monthly users—and Bluesky, which continues to roll out X-inspired features.
Musk publicly thanked her, replying to her announcement with, 'Thank you for your contributions.'

Yaccarino's departure marks another significant shift for X as it navigates its mission to become the so-called 'Everything App.'

Anand Mahindra welcomes Elon Musk's Tesla to India, shares 2017 post: 'See you at charging station'

Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra has rolled out a red carpet for Elon Musk's Tesla, as the electric vehicle (EV) giant officially enters the Indian market. Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to welcome Tesla, emphasising the importance of competition. Along with welcoming the company, Mahindra also shared a screenshot of a 2017 exchange between him and Elon Musk. In that post, Musk had lauded India's commitment to sell only electric vehicles by 2030 and its status as the largest market for solar power. Responding to that, Mahindra said, 'Time you got here Elon. You don't want to leave the whole market to Mahindra do you? The more the merrier and greenier.' In the latest X post, Mahindra stated, 'Welcome to India, @elonmusk and @Tesla,' adding that 'One of the world's largest EV opportunities just got more exciting.' The Indian businessman also stated, 'Looking forward to seeing you at the charging station.' Mahindra's welcome post received mixed reactions from X users. While some users claimed that Tesla would find it difficult to sell cars to the price-conscious Indian buyers, others praised Tesla for its advanced technology and envisioned its rapid growth in the near future. A user pointed out that Fortuner sold approximately 29,000 units last year in India at ₹ 35–55L. Will people really buy a Tesla starting at ₹ 60L? Conflicting comments on Anand Mahindra's post. Another X user mirrored the statement by saying, 'Tesla's arrival won't make much of a difference; only a few rich people will be able to afford it.' Contrary to the negative comments, a user said, 'Tesla will not just sell EV! It will integrate EV with xAI(Trained on Indian data as well as world data). This is where Indian EV manufacturers will lack and lose the EV battle unless a heavy in-house AI system gets developed.' Tesla has officially started its operations in India with the inauguration of its first showroom, the 'Tesla Experience Centre', in Mumbai's prominent Bandra Kurla Complex. The company has launched its premium SUV, the Model Y, with prices starting around ₹ 61 lakh (on-road).

Prada team lands in Kolhapur to engage artisans after Milan sandal row

Following an online backlash over 'cultural appropriation' for featuring Kolhapuri sandals at its Milan show, a delegation of executives from Italian luxury label Prada on Tuesday reached Kolhapur, Maharashtra, to engage with local artisans, Mint reported. The visiting team includes Andrea Boscaro, director of collection development for Prada and Miu Miu footwear; Paolo Tiveron, head of the men's technical and production department; and Daniele Contu, pattern-making manager. All three are from Prada's footwear division. External consultants Andrea Pollastrelli and Roberto Pollastrelli are also part of the delegation, the company told Mint. According to Lalit Gandhi, president of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), the team is visiting for two days. 'The technical team will evaluate the process of making Kolhapuri chappals, share their experience, and outline expectations as per Prada's requirements. They will also visit artisan clusters involved in traditional footwear making,' he said. The visit follows a virtual meeting held last week between MACCIA and Prada to discuss concerns raised over the collection shown in Milan. During the meeting, Prada expressed interest in launching a limited-edition, made-in-India Kolhapuri-inspired line in collaboration with local craftsmen, according to MACCIA. Kolhapuri chappal–Prada controversy The row began after Prada revealed leather sandals at Milan Fashion Week that closely resembled Kolhapuri chappals. Part of its Spring/Summer 2026 menswear line, the sandals were reportedly priced at around ₹1.2 lakh. The design drew criticism for ignoring the cultural and craft-based roots of the original footwear. Prada later said the style was 'inspired by Indian craftsmanship', but that statement came only after public criticism intensified. Kolhapuri chappals, known for their toe-strap design and handmade leatherwork, are a traditional form of footwear from Maharashtra and Karnataka. The chappals also carry a Geographical Indication (GI) tag under the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999. Last week, intellectual property rights advocate Ganesh S Hingmire filed a public interest litigation in the Bombay High Court, alleging that the Milan showcase amounted to cultural misappropriation and unauthorised commercial use of a GI-tagged product.
