Pilot in hospital after plane crash
It happened near Whitehouse Road in Stebbing, Essex and firefighters and other emergency services were called to the scene at about 13:30 BST.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The pilot, an adult male, was transported by road to Broomfield Hospital [near Chelmsford] with minor injuries."
Scott Fretton, a station manager with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Crews assisted our emergency services colleagues with the casualty."
He added: "They used an off-road vehicle to dampen down the area around the aircraft as there was a risk it would set alight."
Andrewsfield Aviation is less than two miles away from Stebbing, while the village is about halfway between Stansted Airport and Braintree.
Essex Police the air ambulance service were also at the scene.

Grand reopening of Basildon Miniature Railway sees touching station tribute
A MUCH-LOVED and long-closed miniature railway has officially reopened to residents following an emotional event over the weekend. The Basildon Miniature Railway, in Pitsea's Wat Tyler Country Park, has been painstakingly restored since falling into disrepair and closing in 2019. Dan, who helped lay the original track as a teenager in the 1980s and has led the effort to regenerate the railway, said: 'Yesterday was the official reopening of the railway where the station was named after my late father, David Harrison, who served on Basildon council for over 50 years. 'Dignitaries from the local authority attended a ceremony to cut the cake and ribbon. 'Thank you to my family, especially my mum, the council, especially the park staff and my amazing volunteers. 'I'd like to also thank Hastings Miniature Railway and and Ropley Miniature Railway for their support.' Edinburgh locals 'grateful' as fire crews battle Arthur's Seat blaze overnight
Edinburgh residents have praised fire crews who battled a blaze on Arthur's Seat 'well into the night'. The flames were first reported at around 4pm on Sunday, August 10. People were seen 'running down the hill' as the blaze 'spread quickly'. Over 12 hours later, by almost 5am on Monday morning, residents claimed the fires were 'still burning'. It's understood that four pump appliances and specialist resources were mobilised by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS). There were no reports of any casualties. Local resident AJ Stewart told us at around 4.53am: "At the time I'm sending this message, fires are still burning up on Arthur's Seat and have been all throughout the night. "It seems as soon as it's extinguished, another area begins to burn. It's absolutely devastating to see. Sending my best wishes to all emergency services involved, I am truly grateful for each and every one of them." Pub regulars proudly fund potentially life-saving kit outside their local
Pub regulars have proudly funded a new defibrillator outside their local – after one punter's campaign. The Freemasons, in Farnworth, installed the life-saving kit on June 20, following the campaign. Angela Reader, 48, also from Farnworth, started the fundraiser because there was no nearby defibrillators. She said: "Basically, I started it because there were no defibrillators on this side of Farnworth. "It's an important piece of equipment – it saves people's lives – and they should be on every street corner. "Everybody is proud with what we've done because the money was raised so quickly. "They were all so generous, so that made a hell of a difference." The Freemasons, Farnworth (Image: Google Maps) Angela's campaign was gladly welcomed by landlord and landlady Will and Rose Moran, and she also enlisted the help of Claire Axon, from Minutes Matter. Will helped with activities like football cards to help fundraising, but Angela said most of the money was raised the old-fashioned way. She said: "We would just have a charity tub and went round the pub when it was busy. "We were hoping to get local businesses on board – but we had already raised the money at that point!" "The chances of surviving can be as low as less than six per cent, but with a defibrillator used within three to five minutes, the odds are then increased to 74 to 76 per cent. "Locals have been so supportive, and I think people are now realising that this piece of kit is going to make a difference to someone's life."
