Summerside woman dies in 2-vehicle crash in Wellington Centre, P.E.I.
East Prince RCMP said in a news release they received a 911 call about the crash at about 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived, Island EMS and the Miscouche Fire Department were already on the scene.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles, which were severely damaged.
Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The other driver suffered serious injuries. Firefighters had to extract him from his vehicle, and he was taken to Prince County Hospital for treatment.
"At this time, it appears one of the vehicles swerved into oncoming traffic. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision; however, the investigation is ongoing," the release read.
An RCMP collision analyst and a provincial coroner also attended the scene.

'If my keys weren't in my hands, I wouldn't have been able to lock it as fast (and) she might have been able to grab my baby and run with her,' she said. 'Anything can happen in the blink of an eye and it's best to always be ready. I learned that Thursday for sure … I never thought this would happen to me. It's the type of stuff you see in TV shows and movies.' Now that she and her family are safe, the mother said she hopes the person involved in the case will get help. 'At the end of the day, I have my children safe and sound in my arms,' she said. 'And I hope she can get the help she needs.'

Vehicle lands on its roof in Friday afternoon crash in northeast Calgary
Two people suffered minor injuries when a car rolled over in northeast Calgary Friday after lunch. An investigation is underway after a vehicle rolled over onto its roof Friday afternoon in northeast Calgary. The incident took place after lunch at the intersection of Rundlehorn Drive and 36 Street N.E. A fire department spokesperson said a crew responded to incident and found two people suffering minor, non life-threatening injuries.
