The smoking gun needed to take down John uncovered by Robert in Emmerdale twist
Of course, we know he didn't, but the residents believe he did after DS Walsh found a note on his laptop confirming to the murder.
This discovery was made at the same time Walsh and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) found Owen dead. It looked as though he had ended his life, but John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) let him die after finding him unconscious last week.
With the so-called developments now village gossip, Robert grew suspicious yesterday when Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) mentioned Owen planting Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse. He though it was unbelievably strange for Owen to do this, and wondered why he'd take such a risk – surely you'd just lay low?
With this in his mind, Robert was given another reason to grow curious about his brother in tonight's episode, when Claudette (Flo Wilson) said that John visited Owen before he died.
A theory being fuelled, Robert was then seen outside Mill Cottage, watching John in his van.
The medic was emptying a very full sharps bin into a cardboard box. Robert couldn't understand why John would have so many medical items in his van – but made a mistake by not following John to the scrapyard.
There, John poured the sharps bin contents into a metal container and set fire to it. He was caught by Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), but managed to create a cover story by saying he needed to dispose of them for the surgery, and cut corners so they could get on the road for their camping trip quicker.
While this was happening, Robert was busy making contact with Owen's brother.
Outside The Hide, Steve wasn't really in any mood to talk about Owen. Let's not forget this man spiked Robert a few weeks ago – he was hardly a pillar of the community.

But Robert needed information to back up his thoughts on John. Eventually, Steve confirmed that he was with Owen the day Nate was killed – and they were in Hull. More Trending
This was massive. It was proof that Owen did not kill Nate but the problem? Steve didn't want to tell the police.
This was because the job the siblings were doing in Hull was apparently something the police didn't need to know about. Because of this, Steve walked away, not wanting to get involved.

EastEnders reveals first look at two major returns as funeral is confirmed
EastEnders has officially confirmed former stars Max Bowen and Ricky Champ will reprise their soap roles in the same storyline later this year. The actors will head back to the show as Ben Mitchell and Stuart Highway, albeit for a brief period. While the full details of their returning storyline haven't been revealed, we now know that they will head back to Walford later this Autumn for the funeral of Jonno, the father of Stuart and Callum Highway (Tony Clay). The two characters will be back alongside Callum and also Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff). With Callum having recently cheated with Johnny, and with those feelings expected to grow, Ben may not be revisiting the happy family he left behind. Ben will be on day release from prison in America, while Stuart will only visit due to having a life away from Albert Square with Rainie (Tanya Franks). You'd think that things would be all smooth sailing given it will only be a temporary return, but an awful lot can happen in a short amount of time where Walford is concerned. Max and Ricky are currently filming, and will appear in a handful of episodes later this year. Ben departed life in Albert Square in 2024. He was arrested for fraud and sent to prison in the USA. It came shortly after the death of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), the mother of Ben's daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown). Ben went to prison because he was arrested for stealing someone's credit card, and making a number of purchases while exploring treatment options for Lola – who had a brain tumour – in the States. Ben and Callum vowed to make their relationship work while he was behind bars, but things have gotten somewhat complicated. Callum and Johnny shared a surprise kiss during the Pride event at The Albert, which effectively ended Johnny's romance with recently departed Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison). The guilt didn't stop Callum going back for more, but their secret affair was soon uncovered by Ben's furious father Phil (Steve McFadden), who violently attacked Johnny. Since then, the pair have cooled things off, with Callum insisting he is committed to waiting for Ben. Despite this, they've not really been able to keep their hands off each other. Stuart got his happy ending with Rainie in 2022. The two characters departed to start life again elsewhere. When Stuart was introduced in 2018, he often expressed his violent and dark side. The character revealed that he had been sexually abused as a child, explaining why he would often hunt down paedophiles and have them arrested. Stuart was also seen terrorising the Carter family. One storyline in particular saw him shoot himself in the leg, but framed Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) so he could go to prison. In a two-hander episode, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) pretended to get close to Stuart, just so she could get him to admit that Mick never shot him. When Mick was released, he tried to scare Stuart out of Walford, but he went to live with Dot Branning (June Brown). Shortly after this and the death of Dot's friend Doctor Legg, Stuart tried to rebuild his life. This eventually led to him starting a relationship with Rainie but this had many ups and downs as well, as Stuart faced a cancer diagnosis, as well as battled male PND. Richard Graham portrayed Stuart and Callum's father Jonno for a short period in 2019. He was first introduced to us when Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), Callum's fiancé at the time, contacted him. It was then revealed that Jonno wasn't a good father to Callum and Stuart as they grew up, and that he would often subject Stuart to violence. At the time, he tried to tell his sons that he was a changed man, but his true colours were revealed when he had a fight with Ben after making it clear he was homophobic, and then pinned Callum up against a wall. Jonno was thrown out of Walford but returned two months later, curious as to how Callum's wedding went, unaware that it never happened. Callum came out as gay to his dad, and a disgusted Jonno accused Ben of turning his son 'into one of them'. More Trending Jonno was punched by Phil after this, and he threatened to go to the police. The punters in the Queen Vic, including Whitney, all decided to deny seeing Phil attack Jonno. He then left, disowning Callum as he departed. Rapper shocks with admission he 'doesn't eat and just drinks a bunch of water'
Machine Gun Kelly has worried fans with his confession that he barely eats anything and just has 'a bunch of water' instead, a diet which could be 'dangerous' according to medical experts. Apparently, the Bad Things rapper – who recently welcomed a little girl with ex-partner Megan Fox – lives off bone broth, kimchi, and water. While promoting his new album Lost Americana, MGK appeared in a food-eating interview with Ladbible, but this has sparked a resurgence in concern about his diet. In a resurfaced clip, originally posted last month on Instagram account HipHop-N-More, the 35-year-old star revealed: 'I don't really eat. I just do water a bunch.' The men surrounding him were slightly confused, asking if he meant he followed a fasting diet, to which he nodded. 'Like, I ate that burger 'cause we're streaming,' MGK explained and praised his friend's cooking skills, but another man asked if they weren't filming, what would he have eaten. 'Probably water,' came the new father's shocking reply, prompting concerned questions about if he feels 'lightheaded' at all. 'Yeah, sometimes. I'll eat, like, a couple times a week,' the Home rapper confessed, stating his meals mainly consist of 'bone broth with kimchi and sauerkraut.' He added he will have celery juice and coconut water 'sometimes', with his diet rounded out by cigarettes and coffee. 'Because it has probiotics, you know?' MGK continued. 'So, like, when you do those water fasts, the only thing that's crazy is it kills all the good bacteria in you, too, so you gotta put the pro[biotics].' His friends declared he was 'healthy as hell' before one quoted a supposed study claiming that 'one seven-day fast removes like 80% of cancer-causing cells from your body'. Metro was unable to verify the existence of this study. The NHS explains on their website: 'Cancer is a condition where cells in the body grow in an uncontrolled way.' Cancer occurs when a cell undergoes a genetic mutation, causing it to divide and grow uncontrollably, so all cells in the body are potentially cancer-causing. MacMillan's website debunks claims that fasting can stop you getting cancer, adding: 'There is no good evidence that fasting reduces overall cancer risk. The cancer charity noted that you can 'help to reduce your risk by keeping a healthy weight and eating a balanced diet' but there is 'no one diet that can prevent cancer.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. You can contact their helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week from 8am to 8pm), use their webchat service, or visit their site for more information. As for MGK's water fasting diet, there are some studies that suggest short periods of time may improve health, but fasting for long periods is detrimental. Heathline acknowledged that 'water fasting may also promote autophagy, a process in which your body breaks down and recycles old, potentially dangerous parts of your cells.' However, 'water fasting has many risks and can be very dangerous if followed for too long.' The outlet added you should not fast for longer than 24-72 hours 'without medical supervision because of health risks.' MGK has previously shared his workout routine with Men's Health, consisting of five sessions per week to keep in shape for his energetic performances. 'When you physically feel good, mentally feel good,' he said, adding: 'I'm not Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, but people should look at me and think, If this guy can get into the gym, I can, too.' More Trending He's also said in the past how ex-partner Megan 'eats super healthy' compared to his menu of 'cheeseburgers'. While on 104.3 The Shark in 2020, MGK said: 'It would be cooler if there was just a soup place that was open all night. I would just order soup all night…isn't soup fire?! 'Soup goes super hard. I was not into the soup game for some years and now I totally get it. It's almost like the adult cereal.' Meanwhile, in 2022, Megan shared she followed a 'super strict' diet – which didn't include gluten, most carbs, alcohol or cigarettes. Got a story?
