Nicolas Cage attends son Weston's outdoor wedding... weeks after musician's fate in felony assault trial

Daily Mail02-05-2025

Nicolas Cage attended his son Weston's wedding during a romantic outdoor ceremony in Beverly Hills - only weeks after the singer learned of his fate in his felony assault trial.
The National Treasure actor, 61, could be seen standing on the left side of the altar near his son, 34, in an Instagram video recently uploaded by one of the guests.
The nuptials took place at The London West Hollywood last week on April 25, sources informed TMZ.
In the short snippet, Cage - who sported a classic black tuxedo for the special day - watched as Weston and fiancée Jenifer Alexa Canter exchanged vows underneath the warm California sunshine.
His son was also dressed for the occasion in a black ensemble while the bride wore a strapless, white ballgown that flowed down into a short train.
A sheer white veil was pinned at the back of her brunette locks which were styled into elegant curls.
Flower petals led up to the altar which was placed on what appeared to be the rooftop of the hotel.
Nicolas was possibly part of the wedding party but it is not known if Weston's mother Christina Fulton was in attendance - after she accused him of viciously attacking her last year.
Jenifer also jumped to her own social media accounts to share moments from the nuptials - such as a few selfies the newlyweds took.
In a few images, the pair flashed cheerful smiles towards the camera while posing together shortly after the ceremony.
Another was taken as the two lovebirds sat next to each other at a table while inside the venue.
Canter gave a glimpse as she got ready for the big day and shared a photo of herself inside a spacious bathroom wearing a semi-sheer corset ensemble as well as a silk robe.
While on the rooftop, the couple could be seen posing for a picture as she held a bouquet of flowers in her hand.
Jenifer gave her followers a look at the wedding reception and the tables topped with pastel florals. In one snap, Weston could be seen dancing with one of the guests on the dance floor.

Lastly, she also showed a heart-shaped photo of herself posing with Weston that was possibly a wedding gift.
Back in March, Weston announced his engagement to girlfriend Jenifer - nearly five months after going public with their romance on Instagram.
The musician later confirmed that he popped the big question to People and gushed, 'Jenifer is my first love, my only love and my last. She is the love of my life and I am committed to her forever.
'What I have with Jenifer is a God-given divine phenomenon, and therefore it is incomparable. She is the love of my life, and our special love is uncanny.'
Weston - who has previously been married three times - further added, 'I am honored to be with the absolute love of my life. We look forward to changing the world and making our legacy.'
One day before the engagement news came to light, the performer uploaded a sweet selfie with Canter. He could be seen hugging Jenifer from behind as she quickly snapped the photo in the reflection of a mirror.
The actor has also revealed that both he and Jenifer - whom he called his 'twin flame' -were 'born in the same hospital' and 'grew up in the same area.'
Weston - who is the eldest child of Nicolas Cage - has been married three times in the past. Back in 2011, he tied the knot with first wife Nikki Williams but the two went their separate ways the next year.
In 2013, he said 'I do' to Danielle Cage but the pair divorced in 2016. The former couple also welcomed two children named Lucian and Sorin.
Weston then married Hila Cage Coppola in 2018 and the two share twins Venice and Cyress. Last year in July, their divorce was finalized.
In early April, the musician learned he will avoid prison - nearly a year after his mom, Christina Fulton, accused him of violently attacking her outside his apartment complex.
During a hearing, Weston was granted a two-year mental health diversion program to resolve the two felony assault charges against him.
'Mr. Cage does suffer from an eligible mental health disorder. I'm satisfied it was a significant factor in the commission of the charged offenses,' Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monguia declared. 'It's obvious he was suffering a breakdown at the time.'
Weston's lawyer 'requested the diversion after saying his client had received intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment following the incident on April 28, 2024,' according to Rolling Stone.
At the time of the alleged assaults, his attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, stated 'Weston had changed doctors and had only just started a new medication.'
Following the sentencing hearing, Fulton had a message for her ex, telling Cage in an interview with TMZ, 'Take care of my son, our son.'
She stated that Weston has neither apologized nor expressed remorse, and confirmed they are not allowed to communicate. However, in a message to him, she said, 'I love you, son.'
Since his arrest, Goldstein noted that his client has remained sober and that Weston 'hasn't felt this good in years.'
'He's in a good head space, about to get married. He moved away from the location living in before and is definitely making progress,' Goldstein said.
In early April, the musician learned he will avoid prison - nearly a year after his mom, Christina Fulton, accused him of violently attacking her outside his apartment complex; seen with Fulton in 2019 in L.A.
The judge decided if Weston follows his treatment plan and doctors' orders and 'stays out of trouble' that the case could be dismissed in April 2027.
Fulton expressed her support for Weston diversion program over prison, but also requested her son be required to to do 'another couple months of inpatient treatment.'
Fulton had also gone into graphic detail about the night she was allegedly assault and left with life-threatening injuries.
In addition to ordering the mental health diversion program, the judge said 'Weston is prohibited from harassing his alleged victims and possessing any weapons for the next two years.'
A progress report hearing was set for July.
Weston - who previously entered a not guilty plea - was arrested in July 2024 on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and was released on a $150,000 bond.
After his arrest, she released a statement, which read: 'On April 28th, 2024, around 5:30 PM I received urgent messages from friends of my son, Weston Cage regarding his deteriorating mental state, urging me to come help.
'When I arrived to offer support and console him, he was already in the midst of a manic rage. Within minutes, I was brutally assaulted and sustained serious injuries.'
Last month, Fulton's case against her ex, Nicolas Cage, was dismissed after she sued him for negligence.
In the lawsuit filed in February, Fulton accused Nicolas of enabling their son's 'reckless' by bailing him out of jail on several occasions, supporting him financially and drinking alcohol with Weston 'despite knowing his substance abuse history.'
She also alleged that Nicolas of failing to help his son receive 'necessary psychiatric' help.
At the time, Nicolas' lawyer hit back at Fulton's claims in a statement to People, which read: 'The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous.
'Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault of his mother.'
And shortly after the wedding ceremony last week, Weston and his new bride Jenifer were seen grabbing dinner with Nicolas, his wife Riko Shibata and seemingly the actor's other son Kal-El Cage.
The musician reposted the photo that his wife uploaded to Instagram - and they could all be seen posing together at the Polo Lounge located inside the Beverly Hills Hotel.

'Matilda cake' launches in Tesco but chocolate fans hesitate over price

A 24-layer sweet treat inspired by Bruce Bogtrotter's cake in the classic children's book and film, Matilda, was launched in Tesco recently, but many fans cannot get past the price Chocolate fans are buzzing after spotting a delicious chocolate cake that resembles the iconic cake from book and film Matilda. We all remember when Bruce Bogtrotter was caught stealing a slice of scary head teacher Miss Trunchbull's chocolate cake - and, as punishment, was forced to chomp through an entire 18-inch cake. The sweet treat has become well-known and many people have tried to recreate their own versions at home. But if you are not a great baker, or simply don't have the time or equipment, brands and bakeries have also recreated their own versions of the famous cake. Leeds-based bakery Baked released a 24-inch layered cake named Bertha in London's Fortnum Mason earlier this year. ‌ And now, Tesco has brought out a 'Matilda cake' that you can pick up in stores nationwide. However, some people are concerned about how much it costs. ‌ Created by Lancashire's Studio Bakery, it is a 24-layer chocolate treat featuring 'scrumptious all-butter sponge made with dark chocolate, layered and covered in luscious chocolate ganache,' according to Tesco's website. It is also said be "fantastic" when served hot, if you warm it up in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. Studio Bakery said: "Our chocolate Matilda cake is a 24-layer love letter to chocolate in all its fudgy, gooey glory. Every slice is hand-cut, hand-finished, and properly decadent, making it perfect for parties, birthdays, or a solo moment of glory with a spoon and zero regrets." The product is said to served 10 people, but many chocolate lovers cannot get past its £16 price tag. It comes after @johns_snackreviews on Instagram shared a post and said: "NEW Matilda Cake by the Studio Bakery! Out now at Tesco for £16!" "16 quid for cake! No ta," commented one. "£16. Is it worth that price?" added another. One other said: "Omg need, but £16?" ‌ Meanwhile, after @newsfoodspotteruk shared a video of the cake online, one commented: "Bruce Bogtrotter is on his way to Tesco." One other insisted it looks "unreal". The product is available online or in Tesco stores. Tesco has been contacted for a comment. In other food news, for everyone who's ever been disappointed by soggy sweet potato fries, a food influencer known as Pinch of Mint has got you covered with a special trick to ensure they come out irresistibly crispy. Plus, Jaffa Cake fans have issued a complaint after spotting a difference in taste of the iconic McVities treats. Will you be rushing to pick up a box of the viral cake? Comment below.

Wynne Evans teary as he says 'I wanted to end my life' over Strictly scandal

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Opera singer Wynne Evans struggled to hold back tears as he opened up about the Strictly Come Dancing scandal that left him feeling suicidal during an emotional interview on This Morning. The 53-year-old Welsh singer has faced a turbulent few months after being dropped by the BBC following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. On Wednesday, Wynne emotionally revealed that the "relentless" scandal had pushed him to his lowest point. Wynne said: "I've had clinical depression since 2016, I was diagnosed. I want to talk about it today because I want other people to find strength from that. It took me to the darkest point in my life." (Image: ITV) Choking back tears, he recalled the devastating moment he told his girlfriend, to whom he recently got engaged to: "I remember saying to my girlfriend: 'I have to kill myself, I have to...'" Wynne's voice cracked as he fought to compose himself. He credited his loved ones for their unwavering support during his darkest hour, saying: "I was on the crisis team for a month, and they just looked after me the whole time", reports Wales Online. "My friends, family, and girlfriend had a rota so they could be with me 24 hours a day, sitting up with me because it was just so relentless." Wynne also shared a heart-wrenching conversation with his daughter: "I said to my daughter: 'I'm sorry I brought shame on the family' because even though I didn't do what they said I did, I still brought all these headlines. "She just said: 'Look, dad, I know you, you're just this kind person, and I just want you to know that I can see the video, I've seen it for myself, I know exactly what you said.' They've been utterly brilliant and my girlfriend's been fantastic as well." (Image: BBC) This Morning host, Ben Shephard, also read a statement from the BBC which said: "We provided comprehensive duty of care for Wynne that included support by wellbeing professionals. "He was also provided with direct access to a designated contact at the BBC who was available to assist him at anytime. Plus he has been offered continued support since his contract with the BBC concluded." The interview comes as the Welsh opera singer, known for the insurance advertisements, announced last month that he will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter. Wynne revealed in January that he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing. A spokesperson for the BBC recently said: "Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales, and there are currently no plans to work with him." (Image: ITV) Reflecting on his journey in an emotive post on Instagram last month, he penned: "My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you. "These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know." He added: "It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract, so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted. "That show wasn't just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family." Wynne thanked his fans and said he would have an online programme called The Wynne Evans Show, which he called "terrifying". "This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever," he added. (Image: Instagram) "We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again. We have a new home. I'm bringing more presenters soon, and I am sure you'll recognise a few of the faces." He admitted that he was "full of nerves. Full of hope. Full of love. Because when we show up for each other — like we always have — anything is possible." Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called "inappropriate and unacceptable" after The Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making a remark in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers. In January, he announced: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. "Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances, and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me." *If you have been affected by this story, you can call the Samaritans for free on 116 123 or visit
