Stacey Solomon's co-star appeared on ITV's Lorraine when she shared her thoughts on the backlash to her tearful online rant after losing out on a Bafta
Stacey Solomon received backlash from fans after she took to social media to share her "devastation" at her show Sort Your Life Out failing to win a Bafta, despite being nominated twice. But now her co-star Dilly Carter has since come out in support with a three-word remark: "Good for you!".
ITV's Loose Women panel member Stacey was left in tears when her BBC renovation series was up for two awards—Entertainment Performance and Factual Entertainment—but came away from the event without any wins.
Following the disappointing outcome, Stacey posted an emotional message to her followers, expressing her sadness at not winning.
She was pipped at the post in the Entertainment Performance category by Joe Lycett with Late Night Lycett on Channel 4 and also Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour on BBC Two.
The television presenter confided in her followers: "We didn't win a Bafta and I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I'll be honest I'm devastated," managing a laugh amid her confession of "handling it" quite well, reports Edinburgh Live.
Her candid reaction online has drawn criticism for what some saw as lacking grace in defeat. Appearing on ITV's Lorraine, Dilly joined stand-in host Christine Lampard - filling in while Lorraine Kelly recovers following surgery - for a fashion segment, where Christine seized the moment to inquire about Stacey's Instagram video.
Christine questioned Dilly on air, saying: "What do you think? She was just sort of being real wasn't she."
But Dilly expressed her support for Stacey's video, saying "good for you". She commented: "She is our fearless leader for a reason that's what we have to remember and I agree with her in certain respects because it's not about us it's about the production."
Dilly went on to back Stacey for making her voice heard: "So much goes into that show and that's why we are a bit like 'ohh', you know were just a little bit heartbroken for everyone because everyone works so hard."
She added: "I think yeah, good for you, absolutely say it how it was. I would have been more like 'oh no don't say anything' but you know she's like that.
"I think she's absolutely right, I support her as always and like I say she's a fearless leader for a reason."
Christine chimed in: "It's not to take away from Rob and Rylan obviously because they're still brilliant but you just love your team."
Dilly affirmed: "Of course, everyone in an award show wants their team to do well. Everyone wants to win."

'It means treating livestock with respect,' Noel says. "One of the core principles of ethical farming is respect for livestock. My passion and determination partly comes from my experience in Devon in 2001, during the foot and mouth disease (FMD) outbreak. That year taught me a lot - especially relevant to recent years with flu outbreaks and government responses to major health issues." The couple want to create New Zealand's first energy garden – a pioneering project that blends biodiversity, community and sustainability into one regenerative living space. In the series, Noel will tackle hands-on challenges, meet inspirational locals and try to navigate day-to-day life in some seriously wild weather. 'The weather here has an attitude,' Noel says.
