Brown's sagacious nature is inviting and assured, but getting to the iteration of himself that aims to help so many along their healing journeys took reckoning with his own grief and deep inner work that led him to another continent.
Eight years ago, Brown found himself in Amsterdam, just three days after his mother unexpectedly died from a heart attack. Grappling with the life-altering loss, he was searching for something.
During his nine-day trip, he was introduced to
psychedelics and other wellness practices that he says opened his mind. Now, he draws from those experiences, as well as fashion, to help others.
'I was searching for a way to find what I had just lost,' says the 39-year-old.

1 in 3 eczema patients in Hong Kong face workplace hostility: poll
One in three eczema patients in Hong Kong experienced workplace hostility, including exclusion or mockery by colleagues due to their condition, a survey by the Medical and Health Advancement Federation has found. The survey released on Sunday aimed to raise awareness of the physical and mental challenges faced by eczema patients, who accounted for 20 per cent of the population. The federation conducted the survey between June and July this year, interviewing 240 people who were employed and had sought treatment for the condition in the past five years. Eczema is a condition that causes dry and itchy patches of skin. Some reported discriminatory treatment at work, with 32.5 per cent saying they were excluded or mocked by colleagues or supervisors due to their condition. One-fifth of them said they were rejected for a job due to the condition. An equal number felt that the condition hindered their promotion opportunities. More than 70 per cent of respondents said they experienced a decline in productivity and work performance due to insufficient rest caused by eczema. About 40 per cent said they had to take time off work or resign due to the condition.

Mental health support guide valuable for Hong Kong employers
Hong Kong has come a long way in fighting discrimination. Relevant legislation has been in place since the 1990s, but that does not mean prejudice and bad practices have disappeared. Between 2022 and June 2025, the Equal Opportunities Commission received 222 complaints related to mental health, mostly involving dismissing an employee after learning about their mental health condition or when they had taken a certain amount of sick leave. Most cases were, thankfully, resolved through reconciliation. With an average of some five cases lodged a month, the problem is arguably not common. But the commission conceded that the figures might just be the tip of the iceberg as victims could be reluctant to come forward because of stigma. The latest guidelines issued by the watchdog are a positive step towards renewing awareness of the dos and don'ts under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance. The law covers a disorder, illness or disease that affects a person's thought process, perception of reality, emotions or judgment, or that results in disturbed behaviour. Employers must not treat employees less favourably on the grounds of their disabilities, including refusing to hire them, dismissing them or denying them training and development opportunities. Reasonable workplace accommodation should be provided unless doing so would impose unjustifiable hardship on the employer. According to the guide, an employee might need help when they display excessive worry or nervousness, are frequently late or absent from work, struggle to concentrate or have difficulty finishing simple tasks, all of which can be caused by medication or relapse. Employers can help by breaking down large assignments into more manageable goals and tasks for those struggling to stay organised. Other options for support include granting short breaks or temporarily allowing working from home when the employee feels mentally drained. Admittedly, the concepts are not always appreciated by bosses who prioritise efficiency and productivity above all else. The guide is a practical way to promote understanding and compliance with anti-discrimination laws that are still overlooked by many in society.
