"It was a very specific, very detailed prayer that I put out every single night ... and here we are going into season 4," he says of the show's success
The first three seasons of Sullivan's Crossing are streaming now on NetflixFor Chad Michael Murray, his role on Sullivan's Crossing is a blessing.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Murray, 43, reveals he "prayed every single night" for two years for a project like the Canadian romantic drama, which first premiered in 2023 and is based on a novel series by Robyn Carr.
He says his prayers were for "a show that didn't feel gratuitous, that was very family-friendly, that ended up in a very beautiful location where my family and I felt like we could integrate into the community … with a cast that we'd all get along and everyone would bond."
"It was a very specific, very detailed prayer that I put out every single night, and then came Sullivan's Crossing, and here we are going into season 4," he continues. "S---, it's awesome. It's crazy."

Murray and his wife Sarah Roemer share three children — a son, born in 2015, and two daughters, born in 2017 and 2023.
"Having kids, I've been very specific about what I want to do," he explains. "I want to make sure that I'm around to be a dad. It's just everything to me, being a dad."
"I want to be home, I want to see them every day and I want to be a very large part of their life," he adds of Roemer and their kids.
The Gilmore Girls alum says the days of doing shows that require extended time away from his family are in the rearview mirror of his career.
"I have pushed myself away from all that," he notes. "I don't want to do that."
is a reunion of sorts for Murray and his costar Scott Patterson.
While Murray only appeared on the first two seasons of Gilmore Girls as Tristin DuGray, Patterson played Luke Danes throughout the show's entire seven-season run between 2000 and 2007 — including the 2016 limited miniseries revival.
On Sullivan's Crossing, Murray plays California "Cal" Jones, the local handyman, while Patterson plays Sully Sullivan, the estranged father of Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan).
"It blows my mind," Murray admits of him and Patterson finding themselves on the same show more than two decades later.
"I remember when I found out that we were going to do this, I was excited to know that I was going somewhere where at least I knew somebody, which is not always the case," he says. "You end up walking in, and you never know what you're going to get, so that part of getting this job made me feel at ease."

Is Gleb Savchenko on ‘Dancing With the Stars' Season 34?
It turns out Gleb Savchenko may not make his way back to the dance floor for Dancing With the Stars season 34. The pro dancer broke the bad news in a recent TikTok, where he lip syncs over a sound saying, 'I don't know where you got your information from, I don't know who your source is, but I will be the first one to tell you that is incorrect.' 'Your 'source' needs a refund… because that story? 100% fake,' he wrote in his caption. And then, in response to a fan who commented, 'Can't wait to see you on my TV again in September!' Gleb replied, 'Afraid you won't.' Gleb's post comes after the trailer for his ex-girlfriend Brooks Nadar's upcoming reality series, Love Thy Nader, dropped on August 11. The show focuses on the model and her sisters as they make the move from their humble hometown in Louisiana to pursue their dreams in NYC. In the trailer, Brooks recounts her connection with her ex, saying, 'Gleb and I met through Dancing with the Stars. In our family, we say, 'You don't date one Nader sister, you date all of us.'' The model then doubled down on allegations that he cheated on her, adding, 'He's a cheater and I have all that proof.' Gleb's voice can also be heard in the trailer, adding, 'Just sad how people spread lies and rumors to promote their new reality show.' ICYMI, the pro dancer first joined the cast for season 16 in 2013 and went on to compete in seasons 23 through 33, when he was partnered with Sports Illustrated model, Brooks Nader. The pair sparked romance rumors thanks to their on-stage chemistry last season, but their relationship was pretty much confirmed when fan-captured footage caught them kissing backstage in September. From there, the pair ended up in an on-again, off-again relationship that lasted until April 2025. According to People, they split up for good because Brooks suspected that the pro dancer had cheated on her. As for the next season of DWTS, we have yet to see the full cast of stars competing for the famous mirrorball trophy. A few celebs who have confirmed their involvement include social media star and podcaster Alix Earle, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, and the son of wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, Robert Irwin.

Netflix is taking its fight with Disney to a new arena: sing-alongs
Netflix is taking its fight with Disney to hallowed ground: family-friendly sing-alongs. Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" is briefly coming to select movie theaters as a sing-along event, in a new challenge to the Mouse House. Fans of "Kpop Demon Hunters" and its popular soundtrack can see the fictional K-pop girl group HUNTR/X on the big screen when the smash-hit film hits theaters in the US and Canada on August 23 and 24, Netflix said on Tuesday. The animated flick has become Netflix's fourth-most-watched movie ever since its mid-June debut. It set records by hitting a new viewership peak six weeks after its debut and narrowly missed achieving that feat again in its seventh week. "KPop Demon Hunters" owes some of its success to its chart-topping soundtrack. One of the movie's original songs, "Golden," is the No. 1 track on Billboard's Hot 100 rankings this week, and the full setlist is currently the second most popular album in the world. A Netflix spokesperson didn't provide a comment beyond the press release. Netflix can take on Disney without changing its tune on theaters Putting "KPop Demon Hunters" on big screens is an intriguing move for Netflix, which has often given theaters the cold shoulder. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in April that putting movies exclusively in theaters for months is "an outdated concept," Variety reported. However, Netflix has experimented with theaters, such as by giving "Knives Out 2" a limited theatrical release in 2022 and promising to give big-screen time to Greta Gerwig's forthcoming movie based on "The Chronicles of Narnia." "KPop Demon Hunters" has already moved from a hit to a cultural phenomenon, and creating a limited-edition event may further fuel interest on Netflix and for the soundtrack. Putting "Kpop Demon Hunters" in theaters, even for only two days, suggests that Netflix is set on making its biggest animated film ever a full-blown franchise. Netflix is also encroaching on what's long been Disney's territory: animated family-friendly movies with catchy songs. Disney's most recent swing in original animation, "Elio," underwhelmed at the box office despite strong reviews. Pixar's latest film grossed just shy of $150 million worldwide, and its budget was at least that much, The Hollywood Reporter said. However, "Elio" could get a second wind on Disney+. Netflix placing "KPop Demon Hunters" in theaters may not mean it's rethinking its broader movie strategy, but it does signify that it's trying to take Disney's bread and butter.
