Ranking the Seahawks' 2025 home games easiest to hardest
The NFL released its 2025 season schedule on Wednesday evening in a league-wide coordinated event. The Seattle Seahawks will play eight home contests, having the road-game (nine) disadvantage this year. Having analyzed the upcoming schedule, we've ranked the Seahawks' eight home games easiest to hardest.
New Orleans Saints (Week 3)
The New Orleans Saints are early favorites for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Starting quarterback Derek Carr recently announced his retirement due to a shoulder injury. The Saints will be deciding between Tyler Shough, Jake Haener, and Spencer Rattler at quarterback. Getting them early in the schedule should be a gift-wrapped victory.
Indianapolis Colts (Week 15)
The Indianapolis Colts are hosting an uninspiring battle at quarterback this offseason. Will the Seahawks see Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones in Week 15? Richardson is creeping towards bust territory, so the Seahawks should like their chances either way.
Arizona Cardinals (Week 10)
The Seahawks have dominated the Arizona Cardinals in recent memory, sweeping the regular-season series last year. The Cardinals could be sneaky-good this season, so Mike Macdonald must have a good plan in place to continue asserting that dominance.
Houston Texans (Week 7)
The Houston Texans are a tricky inter-conference opponent. They've qualified for the postseason in consecutive seasons, but have failed to go from good-to-great. Still, Macdonald's defense will be in for a tough assignment against franchise quarterback CJ Stroud.
Minnesota Vikings (Week 13)
The Minnesota Vikings were dominant last season, but Seahawks QB Sam Darnold will be fired up for this #RevengeGame opportunity. Making the switch from Darnold to J.J. McCarthy makes the Vikings unpredictable, but they likely won't be as effective as they were last season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 5)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished third in yards (399.5/game) fourth in scoring (29.5) last season. Baker Mayfield enjoyed an MVP-like season at quarterback. The Buccaneers lost their offensive coordinator Liam Coen to the Jacksonville Jaguars, so we'll see if Mayfield can sustain that success under a third play caller in as many campaigns.
San Francisco 49ers (Week 1)
The Seahawks open the season against the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field in Week 1. Macdonald's squad defeated the 49ers on the road in 2024, but have lost three consecutive home contests to the Bay-area based club. Defeating San Francisco to begin the campaign would represent a terrific start.
Los Angeles Rams (Week 16)
The NFC West could partially be decided in Week 16. Defeating the Rams at home would greatly increase the Seahawks' chances of winning the division title. The Seahawks were defeated 26-20 by the Rams in overtime at Lumen Field in 2024.

Schefter Offers Gruesome Bills Prediction on James Cook

Schefter Offers Gruesome Bills Prediction on James Cook originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The business side of the NFL is heading the Buffalo Bills' offseason, with running back James Cook seeking a new contract as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. Advertisement But there's a big problem. The Bills, through re-signing other stars this offseason, despite Cook stating first he wanted a new deal, having only $1.6 million in cap space per Over The Cap. James wasn't at OTAs, which is, of course, voluntary, but there have been little breadcrumbs laid out by Cook, seemingly voicing his discontent at the lack of movement on a new deal. Now, ESPN's Adam Schefter is discussing it all in his podcast, offering a rather grim view of the situation between Buffalo and Cook. 'It bears watching because you've got a guy who's unhappy with this contractual situation, who has basically disconnected himself from the organization, the city, put his house up for sale,' Schefter said. 'I don't think we'll be seeing him in Buffalo anytime soon, and again, the start of training camp will be the next critical moment. If they don't have a deal done there by then, does James Cook show up for training camp? Does he risk the penalties if he doesn't show up?" Advertisement Buffalo's mandatory mini-camp will take place this week, and that will also serve as a test of Cook's mental state regarding his contract. Seen as one of the key offensive pieces for coordinator Joe Brady, this has the potential to get rather ugly the longer it goes without something being done. But Buffalo, barring some serious salary cap gymnastics, won't be able to get a deal done with the two-time Pro Bowler, and where that leaves Cook and the offense is unknown. And that isn't a good spot to be for a franchise aiming for Super Bowl glory. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander talks about his admiration for Kobe Bryant

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander talks about his admiration for Kobe Bryant Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder was named the NBA MVP for this season recently, and he led the league in scoring with an average of 32.7 points a game during the regular season. He has continued his outstanding play during the playoffs, and he's now playing for his first world championship. His Thunder trail the Indiana Pacers 1-0 in the NBA Finals after blowing a double-digit fourth-quarter lead in Game 1. But he still produced 38 points in Game 1 to help his team's cause. Like plenty of players in recent years, Gilgeous-Alexander looks up to late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. He told the media that Bryant is probably his favorite player ever, and that he hopes to approach Bryant's level of greatness. "That's probably my favorite player of all time," Gilgeous-Alexander said. "I never got the chance to meet him… but not only me, for kids all across the world, his influence has gone through the roof and his legacy will be remembered forever because of the competitor and the basketball player that he was. Hopefully I'm somewhere close to that as a basketball player one day. But he was a special talent, special person, and God rest his soul." Bryant, of course, drove the Lakers to five NBA championships and won two finals MVPs during his 20-year career. He is considered arguably the greatest closer in league history, and he produced numerous memorable moments in crunch time, especially in big games. Oklahoma City will need a few memorable moments like that from Gilgeous-Alexander if it is to bring home its first championship since 1979 when the franchise was known as the Seattle SuperSonics.
