Prince Harry is back to work after speaking out about his family estrangement.
The Duke of Sussex attended the ServiceNow's Knowledge 2025 conference in support of the Diana Award—in honor of his mother Princess Diana—in Las Vegas May 6, days after his explosive interview with BBC in which he detailed his rift with King Charles III and Prince William.
At the event, Harry, 40, took the stage alongside Diana Award CEO Dr. Tessy Ojo and Diana Legacy Award recipients Sikander 'Sonny' Khan and Christina Williams where they discussed their initiative to encourage employers to elevate younger people in the workplace. Harry spoke about seeing the impact the youth has had firsthand through his charitable endeavors.
'This generation isn't waiting for permission to lead, they are already doing it,' Harry—who shares children Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 3, with wife Meghan Markle—said, per People. 'They bring emotional intelligence, social awareness, and an honesty about mental health that previous generations struggled to express. What sets them apart isn't just their boldness, but their refusal to settle for the status quo.'

Speaking to the two recipients on the stage, he added, 'Every single young person has potential. From a younger generation standpoint, in an apathetic world, there's more empathy in this generation than I've ever seen before. When they stand up for themselves and stand up in their communities, that is what we need. We need fearless leadership. So, I tip my hat to both of you and what you represent.'
The Spare author's appearance came five days after he lost his appeal to dismiss the U.K. government's prior decision to strip his security personnel. The same day, he shared candid insight into the role the years-long court battle played in the rift between him, his father Charles and brother William. Specifically, how it's furthered the divide with his father, 76.

'He won't speak to me because of this security stuff,' Harry explained to the BBC during the May 2 interview. 'But it would be nice to reconcile.'
'There is a lot of control and ability in my father's hands, ultimately this whole thing could be resolved through him,' he continued. 'Not necessarily by intervening but by stepping aside and allowing the experts to do what is necessary and to carry on.'
However, a Palace spokesperson disputed Harry's claims after the interview. 'All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts,' the statement to E! News said, 'with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.'
Despite the distance that has come between him and his family in the U.K., after he and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior royals in 2020, Harry is open to mending their relationship.
'It would be nice to have the reconciliation part now,' he said. 'If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them.'

Prince Harry Loses Appeal to Dismiss Decision in His Security Protection Case
Over one year after the High Court denied additional security protection through the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, Prince Harry's legal fight ended when the courts dismissed the case May 2.
His and Meghan Markle's security was lessened after they stepped back as working members of the royal family in 2021 and moved to the United States. However, in the years that followed, Harry had requested security while visiting the U.K.
The Duke of Sussex told the BBC May 2 that he was 'devastated' about losing his legal battle. He emphasized, 'I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.'
Prince Harry and King Charles III Are Not Speaking
Harry told the BBC May 2 that his father King Charles III won't speak to him 'because of this security stuff,' but added that 'it would be nice to reconcile.'
The Duke of Sussex, who shares kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with Meghan, said that he would love to reconnect with his family. But the ball is in his dad's court.
'I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,' he said. 'It's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland.'
'There is a lot of control and ability in my father's hands, ultimately this whole thing could be resolved through him,' Harry added. 'Not necessarily by intervening but by stepping aside and allowing the experts to do what is necessary and to carry on.'
Despite the years of conflict, he's waving the white flag in hopes of reconciliation. He added, 'Life is precious, I don't know how much longer my father has.'
King Charles III Shares Insight Into His Cancer Diagnosis
Over one year after King Charles shared his cancer diagnosis, he wrote April 29 that his health journey and cancer treatment are experiences that bring 'into sharp focus the very best of humanity."
"Each diagnosis, each new case, will be a daunting and at times frightening experience for those individuals and their loved ones," Charles wrote in the booklet for the reception to provide resources for those with cancer. 'But as one among those statistics myself, I can vouch for the fact that it can also be an experience that brings into sharp focus the very best of humanity."

Jason Knauf was announced as the new CEO of Prince William's organization, The Earthshot Prize, April 15. He shared a statement on the website that he was looking forward to 'working with our exceptional team and incredible Earthshot community to advance our mission of urgent optimism for our planet.'
His promotion came nearly seven years after he made a complaint against Meghan Markle, accusing her of bullying two personal assistants and seeking 'to undermine' a third staff member. A spokesperson for the Sussexes denied the allegations and told The Times that the rumors were part of a 'calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation.'
Buckingham Palace investigated the allegations and the case was wrapped up in 2022 without any findings made public.

On the latter, Craker told The New York Post in 2017, "I was standing at the rear of the hearse and William looked up and acknowledged me. I looked toward him and nodded. William was comforted that I was with his mum on her final journey.'

Luxembourg's Prince Fredrik Dies at 22
Prince Frederik—the son of Prince Robert and his wife Princess Julie—died March 1 at 22 years old after a battle with PolG mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic disorder.
"Frederik knows that he is my Superhero, as he is to all of our family, and to so very many good friends and now in great part thanks to his PolG Foundation, to so very many people the world over," Robert said in a statement. "Part of his superpower was his ability to inspire and to lead by example."

"Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy," Meghan added. "You filled my life in ways you'll never know."

Emmerdale star reveals character was almost 'written out' of ITV soap
An Emmerdale star has opened up on the death of her mother and her 'best friend' saying she 'learned a lot about grief' in the process. Lisa Riley, known for playing Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, lost her mother in July 2012. The tragedy was just months before she joined BBC dancing show Strictly Come Dancing, where she was paired up with Robin Windsor. Riley credits Windsor for helping her get through the grief and has now opened up on her mother and Windsor's deaths. Really excited to be going on @GMB this coming Thursday 12th June. Launching something very dear to my heart with @Sue_Ryder and discussing what's coming up for Mandy & Paddy in @emmerdale 💛💛💛 #gmb #goodmorning #goodmorningbritain #sueryder #charity #emmerdale #london 💙💙💙 — LISA RILEY (BLUE TICK) (@Reallisariley) June 10, 2025 Robin Windsor died in February last year at the age of 44. The Latin and ballroom dancer was best known for appearing on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. His cause of death was not given. Riley has now opened up on coping with the deaths of Windsor and her mother on ITV's Good Morning Britain. She said: 'I've learned a lot about grief and how to deal with it, and how to be open and to literally ask for help, because it's okay. 'Sometimes people go really within, my brother's that person, we all deal with things differently, and I was pressing the bravado button going, 'I've got to go out and play Mandy Dingle every day, I've got to dress up as Mandy and be funny'. 'There were some days I didn't want to be funny, I'm lucky with the brilliant girls in my dressing room, where we lean on each other, and my work with Sue Ryder, I've realised that there is a helpline out there. 'The internet is brilliant, there are so many places you can go to, Sue Ryder being one of them for help.' She also praised the Emmerdale team for their support, calling them 'phenomenal' after they offered to write out her character to give her time off. Riley added that she wanted to continue working, saying she 'knows it's what Robin would have wanted'. The actress said: 'Me, being me, I didn't want to be at home in my bedroom, or at home thinking about it too much, I had to carry on with my day job. 'But the make-up girls, what people at home won't know when they're watching Emmerdale is I was having my make-up done three times because I couldn't get it together, I couldn't, day in, day out, and work were brilliant, like we know, we'll write you out, we'll give you time off should you need it. Fans have taken to social media to send support to Riley after opening up about her grief. She posted an Instagram reel in support of the Sue Ryder Charity, saying: "You are never ever ever alone with @surerydercharity. Please go to the webpage if you are struggling - there will be someone to listen." One fan replied: "Sending hugs Lisa, how brave you are for sharing your story, your Mum sounds like a wonderful woman." A second added: "This made me cry, bless ur heart, Lisa, your mum would be so proud of the lovely woman you are. Lots of love." A number of characters have left the popular ITV soap this year.
