Destination X star James 'broke down' over emotional twist in scenes cut from show
Tonight's episode of Destination X saw the show brutally dump two contestants from the cross-country coach, with James and Ben being the next stars to leave the BBC show. Now, e-commerce manager James has spoken out about his exit, revealing that the show didn't air scenes in which he became very emotional.
After contestants Ashvin, Chloe-Anne and Claire returned to the show after being dumped at the airport in episode one, they were made to compete against Ben, Nick and James for a chance to rejoin the game. Unfortunately, one contestant would not be boarding the bus again - and that turned out to be James after losing out in the task.
Speaking to The Mirror about his exit, James said: "My saddest day is going to be leaving. I don't know whether they use the footage or not but honestly I absolutely broke down crying my eyes out.
"I'm quite a tough person and it's quite a lot to get me to show my emotions. That just ripped me to pieces. You don't have your phone, you don't have any means of what you would class as a normal life comfort so you are constantly living in this sense of unknown."
He added: "You don't know where you are. You really don't have much control over what you eat because you're obviously constantly travelling and you're in a bubble of unfamiliarity with everything. It just climaxed with me going home."
Despite his emotional exit, James said that he wouldn't change his experience "for the world". He said: "I went into the whole experience with the mindset that I'm so over the moon that I even get the opportunity to do it so regardless as to any outcome, it was a win for me."
While living on the show's bus may have looked cramped, James admitted that the contestants each got a luxurious night's sleep. "I was just so thankful that they didn't skimp on the bedding because let me tell you right now - that bed was so comfy," he said.
James added that he's also made friends for life despite his short time on the show. "I'll 110% keep in touch with all of them," he said.
"We watched the first episode together before it went out and it was so nice to see everyone again. You all leave at slightly different times so you've got disjointed parts of a story. It all feels a bit like a dream because you're sharply whisked away and then sharply whisked back."

Georgia Toffolo makes bold baby admission in public plea to Brewdog husband James Watt
Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo put out a direct plea to her Brewdog founder husband James Watt as she opened up on their baby plans following their intimate wedding Georgia Toffolo has made her baby plans crystal clear as she put out a direct message to her husband James Watt. The former Made in Chelsea star, 30, stunned her fans earlier this year when she revealed she had tied the knot with just 48 hours notice to her guests. She wed the millionaire Brewdog co-founder, 43, in an intimate ceremony in Scotland at the same church James' grandparents got married in. Following the big day, the pair released a series of unconventional wedding photos, including one of James dressed in fishing waders and Georgia wearing a cream fleece dress, holding some freshly-caught lobsters. Georgia, also nicknamed Toff, has seen her relationship hit the headlines with her far from conventional confessions. It comes after pictures emerged of inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash's luxurious £30k family holiday at 'second home'. Earlier this year she revealed that she and James held quarterly relationship reviews in which they share what their love about one another and their relationship as well as what could be improved. Now, it seems Georgia is ready to take another step in their romance. She took to her social media and put out a very direct message to James in front of her 1.8million followers. Toff posed on a cliffside walk in Devon where she had a baby strapped to her chest in a baby carrier. The reality TV star beamed as she held onto the baby while overlooking the stunning scenery. She pleaded: "@brewdogjames I want one (baby accessory is 10/10 superb) xx." Fans rushed to show Toff their support as one said: "Suits you." Another added: "The best, such a special walk !!!!" Someone else commented: "It suits you. You're a natural." A fourth wrote: "Aw suits you well Toff!!" Georgia has already laid down the ground rules for if she has children in the future, with them set to take James' surname. She decided not to change her own name when she wed James in March. Explaining her decision, Toff revealed she was in two minds but said her own surname plays a big part in her "identity". She was asked on the platform if she had taken Watt as her surname. Toff responded: "I love that someone's asked this question. So, to answer directly no I haven't, but I wonder whether my feelings on that might change as the time goes on. I don't know. "I'm sort of in two minds about the whole thing. I think my surname is such a big part of my identity, it literally is my name, as most people know me." However, she admitted any future kids the pair may have will take on their dad's surname. Toff admitted it might be "a bit weird" if she has a different name to her children, so may be swayed in the future. She also recently hit back at claims she is a gold digger and shared a screenshot of the duo's current bank account balance in response. Despite the couple's huge success it read £0. "Going off the state of our joint bank account, on balance I would say probably not," when asked if she was only with James for the money.

'I accidentally swore at late Queen and her response blew me away'
Most people, when they encounter royalty, are on their best behaviour. But the stress of such a big occasion triggered youth worker John Davidson's condition, leading to an awkward moment One of the proudest days of youth worker John Davidson's life was in July 2019, when he was presented with an MBE by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Holyrood. But unlike the quiet murmur of thanks most people might utter under these circumstances, John suddenly shouted: "F*** the Queen!' John suffers from an extreme case of Tourette's Syndrome – a neurological condition that can cause tics, involuntary noises such as coughing or whistling or – in John's case – sudden outbursts of bad language. "The tic urge often comes when I'm anxious, stressed or tired," he told The Times, "and then it's an exhausting mental battle telling myself, 'John, that's the absolute worst thing you could do in this moment,' and then trying not to do it.' The pressure of the day had started to affect John almost as soon as he arrived at Holyrood Palace. As police made a routine security check, sliding mirrors underneath his vehicle to check for explosives, John's condition made itself known and he yelled: "A bomb! I've got a f***ing bomb!" He had also bellowed: "I'm a paedo!' as he walked down one of the Palace's tapestry-lined corridors, but Her Majesty was completely unruffled. John recalled: "Her Majesty was very kind. She was as calm and assured as my granny. She was very good about it.' John first came to public attention in 1989, when he was the subject of a BBC TV documentary called John's Not Mad. The programme hugely increased public awareness of Tourette's, but not always for the better, with The Times previously noting that the documentary inspired "nationwide playground mocking campaigns.' A group of religious fanatics, who had seen the programme, appeared at his front door brandishing crucifixes and attempted to 'exorcise the demon' that they believed was driving John's compulsive outbursts. At the time, he recalled, he was busy with his pet rabbit Snowy, and admits that when he told them: "Look, I need to deal with my rabbit so will you just f*** off?" those words didn't come from his condition, but from genuine irritation. But despite silliness from some viewers, John went on to become acknowledged as a "nationally known ambassador for the condition". Working with support groups such as Tourette Scotland and national organisation Tourettes Action, he has visited schools, given talks, and held workshops on living with Tourette syndrome. It was in recognition of his tireless outreach work that he was honoured by The Queen. "The MBE was the proudest moment of my life," he said. "I never thought I'd even have a life, let alone be able to help people and get recognised for it." Recognition of John's work has also resulted in a book and a new documentary film, both called 'I Swear.' His first meeting with the film's director, Kirk Jones, was marked by another one of his compulsive outbursts when he made the filmmaker a cup of tea, then told him: "I used spunk for milk."
