Decade of incest horror: Melaka mechanic caught for raping daughter since she was 8
The case came to light when the victim, now 18 years old, revealed her father's abusive behaviour to her mother at approximately 10pm last Saturday, Berita Harian reported.
Following this revelation, the woman fled to Kuala Lumpur with all her children with help from her brother at around 12.30am on Sunday.
The housewife had previously suspected her husband's incestuous acts but lacked concrete evidence to take action.
The eldest daughter, who works at a goldsmith, told her mother that she had been raped by the suspect since she was eight years old, with the most recent incident occurring earlier this month.
Other children also informed their mother that the suspect had attempted similar acts against them, while the man regularly beat the children causing injuries, but the wife did not file police reports due to threats from the suspect.
The woman subsequently filed a report at the Tiang Dua Police Station to facilitate her daughter's medical examination at the hospital, leading to further police investigation and the mechanic's arrest.
Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar confirmed the case report and the suspect's arrest, saying the latter has been remanded for seven days starting yesterday until Monday to assist investigations under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest.
The offence is punishable by between 10 and 30 years' imprisonment as well as caning.

Kamalariffin said police had submitted the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor and that all suspects would be charged in the Klang Court today. He said the main suspect, a 34-year-old man, would be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, while four other male suspects would face charges under Section 201 of the same Code for concealing a body. 'All the suspects will also be charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not possessing valid travel documents,' he said. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — Police have arrested a 51-year-old local man for driving against traffic at a busy junction in Kluang, Johor, following a viral video clip showing the incident. The 24-second video, which was circulated on Facebook, shows a Proton Exora being driven against the flow of traffic at a slip road near Taman Megah. According to Kluang police, the incident occurred at around 4pm on Aug 4 at KM57.4 of Jalan Batu Pahat–Mersing. The man was seen exiting Taman Megah and dangerously using the incoming lane at the slip road in an attempt to join the Mersing-bound traffic. His actions nearly caused a collision with another car entering the same road. Traffic enforcement officers from the Kluang district police headquarters arrested the suspect on Aug 6 after identifying him from the video. Police said the suspect tested negative for drugs following a urine test. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a maximum five-year jail term and a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000 upon conviction.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is urging all parties to stop any action of uploading or sharing unverified information related to the death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said police have detected the spread of information and a child's pictures linked to the Zara Qairina case by irresponsible parties on social media. He stated that the shared information is inaccurate and has the potential to confuse the public, besides potentially affecting the ongoing investigation and hindering the process of justice for all involved. 'The entire investigation process for the case, including the post-mortem issue, is being conducted according to existing procedures and legal provisions, and all parties are advised to stop any action of uploading or sharing unverified information, including disclosing information related to the case investigation,' he said in a statement tonight. Mohd Khalid said the act of disclosing information related to the case can be investigated under Section 15 of the Child Act 2001, which involves a prohibition on revealing the identity, address, school name, and pictures of the child involved, as well as Section 203A of the Penal Code for offenses related to the disclosure of information. 'The individuals involved can also be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of a network facility or network service. Adherence to the law is the basis of national peace and well-being. Any violation will be met with firm action in accordance with existing provisions,' he said. Zara Qairina, 13, was confirmed to have died at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on July 17. The student was taken to the hospital after being found unconscious in a drain near the dormitory of a religious school in Papar at 4 am on July 16.
