Jennifer Lopez Pours Her Heart Into New Song After Ben Affleck Divorce
Wreckage of You is a song about loss, transformation and rising stronger. Jennifer Lopez has transformed personal pain into powerful music with her latest single, Wreckage of You, following her divorce from longtime partner Ben Affleck. On July 8, she debuted the emotionally charged track during the opening night of her highly anticipated Up All Night tour at Parque Tafisa Stadium in Spain. Standing before a sea of fans, Lopez opened up about the inspiration behind the song. According to E! Online, she shared that Wreckage of You was born during a sleepless night, capturing her feelings of loss, transformation, and resilience. The lyrics offer a raw glimpse into her emotional journey post-divorce, with poignant lines like 'Thank you for the scars you left on my heart" and 'Now watch me climb out of the wreckage of you." Deeply personal and filled with vulnerability, the track has struck a chord with fans, serving as both a cathartic release for Lopez and a relatable anthem for those navigating heartbreak. Additionally, Lopez was also seen expressing gratitude for the love and support she has been receiving from her fans. Thanking them, she added a line in the chorus that said, 'Because of you, I am stronger, wiser, and better than I have ever been." A report by PEOPLE stated that before officially debuting Wreckage of You, Lopez performed it live for 30 lucky fans in a private concert in Los Angeles on July 2, alongside five other unreleased tracks. One of the attendees named Edgardo Luis Rivera, revealed to the outlet that Lopez described Wreckage of You as a testament to her resilience, and she could resonate with the word 'wreck' as it meant destruction, but she was not destroyed. Wreckage of You premiered after Lopez told El Paris that she had reassured her twins, Max and Emme, following the divorce from Ben Affleck, whom she was married to for 2 years. She further added that her children feel her strength and peace, and that she was proud of herself for being able to help them navigate through tough times. JLO's Up All Night tour kicked off with the Spain leg and will continue through Italy, Turkey, Poland, Egypt and Kazakhstan. She is also set to return to Las Vegas with a residency titled Up All Night Live at The Colosseum, which will be held at Caesars Palace. The show will run from December 30, 2025, to January 3, 2026, with additional performances in March 2026.
