Several reports coming out of the country had it as good as a done deal, with a number claiming that personal terms had been agreed - but crucially that a fee between the clubs hadn't been. Speaking early last month, Rangers boss Russell Martin confirmed a bid had been received for Dessers but said it was "nowhere near out valuation at the football club." Martin didn't confirm whether AEK Athens were indeed the club to have made a move. Dessers was injured at the time of Martin's comments but has since recovered and regained his place in the Rangers side. Celtic begin season with win at Hearts
Celtic got their SWPL season up and running with a 2-1 victory over Hearts at Oriam. Emma Lawton thought she had given Celtic the lead with a header inside 10 minutes but the whistle had blown for a foul. Morgan Cross found the breakthrough shortly after to put Celtic in front and Natalie Ross doubled the visitors' advantage when she dinked over Hearts goalkeeper Rachael Johnstone. Hearts halved the arrears with a Georgia Timms penalty in stoppage time.
