New Photos For Guilermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN Reveal Jacob Elordi as the Monster and Haunting New Details — GeekTyrant

The newly released photos give us our first glimpse at Jacob Elordi in his role as Frankenstein's Monster. In one image, Elordi's Creature is cloaked and masked, hiding his grotesque form from the world.
In another, he's hunched and subdued, while Oscar Isaac's Dr. Victor Frankenstein appears to be working on his tormented creation. Behind the scenes, Guillermo del Toro can be seen guiding the actors through the intense moment.
Elordi's full look is still under wraps, but the monster's final form sounds absolutely wild. As del Toro describes it, 'the creature resembles a marble statue from antiquity that has been shattered and fused back together.' Elordi joked that he missed out on the gnarly creation scene, saying, 'I think that's the one day I didn't shoot.'
The film isn't just going for scares and spectacle. Del Toro is digging into the emotional core of Mary Shelley's Gothic tale, specifically its overlooked themes of family dysfunction. 'It's parents and children,' Elordi explains. 'Fathers and sons, particularly.'
Del Toro expands on this idea, drawing a line from Frankenstein to his other works. 'These are the parallels between Pinocchio and Frankenstein,' he says. 'It's the idea of a person going from a baby to a human being in a short span of time and being exposed to everything—cold, warmth, violence, love, loss.
'And then going to his creator to say, 'Why? Why did you put me here? Why didn't you give me the answers? What do I have to learn in my suffering?''
Del Toro even compares his creature's suffering to that of Job from the Bible. 'Job is saying to God, 'Why do bad things happen to good people?' And God is answering very, very biblically: 'Who the fuck are you to ask me a question?'' he says, laughing.
As for Dr. Frankenstein, Isaac's version is cold and unforgiving, shaped by a brutal upbringing courtesy of his own father, played by Charles Dance. Del Toro explains, 'The movie is trying to articulate that the father becomes his father to his son without realizing it.'
That toxic cycle explodes into tragedy, as the monster turns on his creator in a final confrontation that leads to bloodshed and a chilling journey into an icy wilderness.
Rounding out the all-star cast are Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Christoph Waltz, Christian Convery, and Ralph Ineson.
Frankenstein is shaping up to be a visually stunning, emotionally resonant, and terrifying reimagining of one of horror's most iconic stories. And if these new images are any indication, del Toro's creature is going to haunt our nightmares.
The movie is expected to debut on Netflix later this fall.

In the first look at Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Frankenstein movie, the Euphoria star transformed into the titular scientist's reanimated creation. With his disfigured face wrapped up in tatter rags, Elordi was barely recognizable as a creature fused together by Dr. Viktor Frankenstein (played by Oscar Isaac). And according del Toro , the 28-year-old was the "perfect actor" to take up the role after dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. "We have a supernaturally good connection," the filmmaker told Vanity Fair in an interview published July 28. "It's like, very few words. Very few things I have to say, and he does it." Likewise, makeup artist Mike Hill couldn't be more thrilled with Elordi taking up the mantle. 'What attracted me to him was his gangliness and his wrists. It was this looseness,' Hill told the magazine. "I was like, 'I don't know who else you could get with a physicality like this.'" He continued of Elordi, "His demeanor is innocent, but it's encompassed in a six-foot-five frame. He could really do a lot of damage if this man really wanted to be a bad guy." But Elordi understands that he's proverbially standing on the shoulders of giants in this role. After all, past actors who've portrayed Frankenstein's monster includes Boris Karloff, Christopher Lee, Robert De Niro and Benedict Cumberbatch. "At first I thought, 'I'll stay away from this. I want to do my own thing,'" he said of visiting past portrayals of the monster. "And then I asked Guillermo, 'Should I watch the other Frankensteins?' And he goes, 'What the f--k do you mean?'" Guillermo del Toro's ‘Frankenstein' Looks Absolutely Stunning
When Guillermo del Toro finally got the chance to make his dream project, an adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, you just knew it was going to be beautiful. Del Toro's films are known for a lot of things, and sumptuous production design and costumes are right near the top of the list. So, it almost goes without saying that a group of new images from the film are stunning, but these almost go beyond that. First revealed in an article by Vanity Fair and then released by Netflix, 10 new images from Frankenstein show characters, scenes, and interpretations that were previously kept secret. Here they are, all at once, and we can discuss a few of them in more detail below. Clearly, we could write tomes on the beauty of each of these images. The costumes, the sets, the locations. Each one is also framed in an interesting way that helps tell a story. But, we won't do that. What we will do, though, is fill in a few questions about who's who in these photos. Del Toro himself is just in that first image, along with Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein. We see Victor in his lab in a later photo, too. The photo on the steps is of Victor as a child with his mother, and a little later, you see Victor again (played at a younger age by Christian Convery) with his father, played by Charles Dance. The photo of someone holding a photo is, indeed, Elordi's monster, who we see covered in a cloak further down. Mia Goth plays Elizabeth, Victor's soon-to-be sister-in-law, who both he and the monster become infatuated with. The second photo of Goth is with her fiancé, Victor's brother William Frankenstein, played by Felix Kammerer. That leaves the man in the top hat, an arms dealer played by Christoph Waltz, and that mysterious photo among the flowers. That's Sofia Galasso and David Bradley as a little girl and a blind man who are in the original book. What does it all mean? The Euphoria star unveiled a new campaign with the American clothing brand last week, to promote their line of denim last week. However, it didn't take long before social media clips to promote the deal sparked a wave of discomfort among many critics, largely due to some of the language that's used in the campaign. This is the story so far… What is Sydney Sweeney's new ad campaign for American Eagle all about? For American Eagle's autumn 2025 campaign, Sydney Sweeney can be seen sporting items from the brand's denim range, including a new pair of jeans inspired by her. The campaign also makes use of the slogan 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans', a pun on the term 'great genes'. In another, she explains: 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality and even eye colour.' 'My jeans are blue,' she then quips, at which point a narrator delivers the line: 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' Why are some people upset about Sydney Sweeney's new ads for American Eagle? Unfortunately this repeated use of the slogan 'great jeans', a pun on 'great genes', has put some viewers in mind of the language used by white supremacists and eugenicists. By centring a blonde, white star in a campaign referencing 'genes', some critics are accusing the brand of tone-deafness at best – particularly in the current political climate – and deliberately pushing a white supremacist agenda at worst. HuffPost UK has contacted representatives for both Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle for comment. Others are pointing out that Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign doesn't mention one other important aspect of the product American Eagle's new 'Sydney Jean' features a butterfly detail on its back pocket, in a nod to domestic violence awareness, a cause which the White Lotus star has championed throughout her career. In fact, an American Eagle press release confirmed that '100% of the purchase price from 'The Sydney Jean' will be donated to Crisis Text Line', a charity in the US which aims to help those affected by domestic violence. However, the ads are also being criticised for not highlighting this key part of the campaign, with some saying its accompanying slogan is even more jarring as a result.
