Adam Sandler pays ‘lovely tribute' to late former co-star Cameron Boyce in ‘Happy Gilmore 2'
Adam Sandler has paid tribute to his late 'Grown Ups' co-star with a thoughtful scene in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' which premiered on Netflix on Friday, July 25.
The blink-and-you-miss-it moment comes early in the new sequel when Sandler's titular character, Happy Gilmore, approaches a check-in booth before starting a round of golf.

Eagle-eyed viewers can notice that the Disney Channel show 'Jessie,' which Boyce starred in as Luke Ross from 2011 to 2015, is playing on a small TV in the corner.

Even more surprising is that the TV is playing a scene that shows Boyce's character on the screen.
'Adam Sandler including Cameron Boyce in Happy Gilmore 2 is hurting and healing my heart at the same time,' one person captioned a clip of the touching moment on TikTok.

Boyce and Sandler first starred together as father-son duo Lenny and Keithie Feder in Sandler's 2010 comedy 'Grown Ups,' and they later reunited for the movie's 2013 sequel, 'Grown Ups 2.'
But 'Happy Gilmore 2' isn't the first time that Sandler paid tribute to his late former co-star.

In 2020's 'Hubie Halloween,' the comedian included a shoutout to Boyce halfway through the film's end credits.
'In loving memory of Cameron Boyce,' it read. 'Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.'
Some of Boyce's other co-stars recently remembered the 'Jessie' star, both for what would have been his 26th birthday in May and for the sixth anniversary of his passing earlier this month.

'I still feel you all the time. Catch you in the next life,' Dove Cameron wrote on Instagram on May 28. 'Happy birthday. I love you.'

Meanwhile, Sandler included several additional nods to those he misses most in 'Happy Gilmore 2.'

Carl Weathers, who was set to return as Derick 'Chubbs' Peterson before he passed away in February 2024, is remembered in the new sequel through several flashbacks to the 1996 original.
Slim, a new character played by Lavell Crawford, is also introduced as Chubbs' prosthetic-hand-wearing son.
Meanwhile, 'Happy Gilmore 2' includes several surprising moments – including the death of one beloved character that has left fans outraged.

Picking up nearly 30 years after the events of the original movie, 'Happy Gilmore 2' follows Sandler's character as he unretires from professional golf to raise money for his daughter's ballet classes.
Julie Bowen (Virginia Venit) and Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin) reprise their original roles, and the movie sees dozens of celebrity cameos.

Plus, Sandler's real-life wife, Jackie Sandler, and real-life daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler, also appear.

Matthew Lawerence wants to resurrect Robin Williams' voice with AI
Matthew Lawrence wants to resurrect Robin Williams with a modern-day twist. Lawrence, 45, told Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend that he wants his 'Mrs. Doubtfire' co-star — who died by suicide at age 63 in 2014 — to become the new 'voice of AI.' 'I would love — now, obviously, with the respect and with the okay from his family — but I would love to do something really special with his voice because I know for a generation, that voice is just so iconic,' Lawrence said. 'And it always stuck with me.' 'And then, during his passing, with the AI coming out, I'm like, 'Man, he's gotta be the voice of A.I. He's gotta be the voice in something,'' the 'Boy Meets World' star continued. 'So yeah, I would love to do that.' 'Living actors deserve a chance to create characters with their choices, to voice cartoons, to put their HUMAN effort and time into the pursuit of performance.' Lawrence was a preteen when he played Williams' son, Chris Hillard, in 1993's 'Mrs. Doubtfire.' 'He really quantified what it was to be a real artist for me in the sense that he was definitely,' Lawrence said, 'and I worked with some great people, and he was definitely the most brilliant artist I've ever worked with.'

Dog on Campsite Sees Opportunity—Gets 'One Bite In' Before Air Jail
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog's intuition about a round object being near his campsite landed him in "air jail" as he took off and intruded on the neighbor's space. An English bulldog named Jerry has an obsession with round objects—tennis balls, basketballs, and so on. The dog's owner, who didn't share their details, told Newsweek via Instagram that Jerry loves anything soccer ball-sized or bigger. "He's tried to get at a watermelon a handful of times, like when we've brought one home from the store," the owner said. "He was super-intrigued, thinking it was a ball or a toy for him." The obsession doesn't stop when Jerry goes on vacation; in fact, his "sixth sense" for these round objects is always on. A recent video posted to Jerry's Instagram account, @jerrywasabulldog, shows that Jerry took his opportunity to go after a round object at a neighboring campsite in Long Beach, Washington. His eyes spots a watermelon, and the dog takes off running before his owners can stop him. Jerry manages to sneak in one bite before his owner scoops him up and places him in "air jail," carrying him back to his campsite. All four paws point to the sky. Defeated about being caught so quickly, Jerry's head hangs to the side. From left: Jerry the English bulldog gets put in "air jail" at a neighboring campsite. From left: Jerry the English bulldog gets put in "air jail" at a neighboring campsite. @jerrywasabulldog/Instagram Within five days of posting, the Instagram clip has amassed over 3.5 million views and left viewers cracking up at Jerry's unbothered reaction as if this wasn't the first time he landed in air jail. "'Zero 'effs given—will do again' it's written all over his face," one viewer said. "You miss 100% of the watermelons you don't chase," another posted. A third wrote: "no offense but Jerry is a round object himself." And after several comments demanded Jerry's owner get him a watermelon of his own, they obliged. A follow-up video shows the dog enjoying the first-ever watermelon that he gets to "play with." In the clip, Jerry sprints toward the round fruit. He uses his snoot to push the watermelon around the grass. Then his paws and teeth finally dig in, enjoying parts of the juicy fruit. While watermelon is safe for dogs to eat, the American Kennel Club says that the seeds inside could cause intestinal blockage, and the rind might lead to gastrointestinal upset. Otherwise, the low-calorie fruit—about 50 calories per cup—is packed with vitamins A, B6 and C, and potassium. Watermelon is an excellent source of hydration on a hot day and has no fat or cholesterol. Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
