Downton Abbey depicted the glamorous highs and dramatic lows of the aristocratic Crawley family for six seasons on television between 2010 to 2015. Two big-screen releases followed: 2019's Downton Abbey and 2022's Downton Abbey: A New Era.

The last installment in the Downton Abbey franchise followed the Crawleys digging into the mystery behind a French villa inherited by Violet.
Meanwhile, Dockery's Lady Mary oversaw the production of a silent film at Downton while being romantically pursued by its director. The film ended with the death of Smith's Dowager Countess of Grantham, a loss that feels even stronger now given Smith died in September 2024.
The third film was announced by Focus Features and Carnival Films last May with an Instagram video showing cast members laughing and hugging as they reunited on set. Dockery shared that it felt 'emotional' to return for one more chapter in Downton Abbey's story.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is in theaters Sept. 12.

Why Sharon Osbourne Fought So Hard To Bring Ozzy Back to England Before His Final Days
When Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, many fans were surprised to learn that he was no longer living in Los Angeles. The Black Sabbath lead singer and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, relocated to England — a plan that was long in the works. The couple spent their last year and a half together living in Buckinghamshire after spending most of their time in Southern California for over two decades. Their mansion will forever remain iconic, thanks to the MTV reality show, The Osbournes, but a return home to the U.K. was calling Sharon. More from SheKnows Two of Ozzy Osbourne's Kids Seemingly Skipped His Funeral After They Were Left Out of Family Statement 'Sharon had wanted to move back to England for years, especially as she got older. England was always home for them, but it became more than that,' an insider told People. 'It was about creating peace and the best life possible together in their final chapter. The path back to England wasn't easy. His health has been fragile for years. … It was a gift, because they got a year and a half together, at home.' In the end, it was the right decision for the tight-knit family ahead of the rocker's passing. 'Ozzy's final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music, and in the place he called home. He was in peace,' the source added. The couple returned to England in February 2023, and Ozzy explained to The Guardian that they were no longer keen about the political strife that had been plaguing the U.S. over the last decade. 'Everything's f—ing ridiculous there. I'm fed up with people getting killed every day,' he said to the media outlet in August 2022. 'God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It's f—ng crazy.' 'And I don't want to die in America. I don't want to be buried in f—ing Forest Lawn,' Ozzy said of the famous Hollywood cemetery. 'I'm English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we've got to go and live in Timbuktu, I'll go.' Being the ultimate businesswoman, though, Sharon brokered a deal for a 10-part BBC reality show, Home to Roost, which chronicles their move back to England — it hasn't aired yet, but it might, according to Deadline. If the momager had her way, she would have returned to their home country sooner, but Ozzy's chronic health problems, including his 20-year battle with Parkinson's disease, kept them in the U.S. 'It just seems that every time we're set to go, something happens with Ozzy's health,' she said on The Osbournes Podcast in July 2024. 'We'll get there. We want to go back so bad, but we'll get there. Won't we, Ozzy?' They made it home with the move becoming permanent in March 2025 after bouncing between two countries for a few years, just in time for Ozzy to enjoy the comforts of home with of SheKnows Tom Cruise's Full Dating History Is Filled With Many A-List Women Who Is Pamela Anderson Dating? Simone Biles Makes Herself at Home in Chicago Ahead of NFL Season—After Revealing She and Jonathan Owens Have a House There
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is flipping her way through multiple luxury trips this summer—but she still found time to show her support for her husband, Jonathan Owens, over the weekend, when she visited their home in Chicago where the NFL star is busy preparing for the upcoming football season. Biles, 28, who recently returned from a girls' trip to the British Virgin Islands, wasted no time in jetting off to the Windy City to attend the Chicago Bears' annual Family Fest event at Soldier Field. Once there, she shared several photos and videos from the event—including a stunning snap of the Chicago skyline, which appears to have been taken from an apartment unit inside a high-rise building, which might well be where the couple are basing themselves for the NFL season. The seven-time gold medalist also shared several images and clips of her husband, whom she wed in 2023, out on the field, including a tongue-in-cheek video of the football pro showing off his juggling skills before starting his official training. Biles proved that she is already very much at home in the Illinois city, revealing that she has secured herself a preferred hairstylist in the area, who she noted 'slayed' her ponytail hairdo for the family-friendly event, which the team hosts each year. The talented athlete, who has competed at three Olympic Games, added two diamond necklaces to her look—including a sweet accessory that spelled out her married name, 'Owens,' in sparkles, before topping the look off with a pair of sunglasses. Ever the jet-setter, Biles apparently did not stay in Chicago for long. She later posted photos and videos from her evening walk with her beloved French bulldog; they appear to have been taken near her home in Spring, TX, which she has owned since 2020. Biles has been based in Texas for much of her life, having resided with her parents, Ron and Nellie, in the state since her childhood. And while she and Owens have committed to a life in Chicago—at least during the NFL season—it's clear that they plan for the Lone Star State to be their home base for many years to come, having started work on a stunning custom-built lakefront mansion near Biles' childhood home in 2023. The gymnast has shared the progress of her mansion on her social media, beginning with the home's basic structure, then moving on to various design details, from the monochrome laundry room to the waterfront infinity pool. The couple's new dwelling, when finished, will offer some special amenities, including a wet bar, game room, home theater, pet spa, and multiple balconies overlooking the water. In October, Biles revealed that work on the property was nearing completion, when she showed off some of the stunning interior decor touches that had been installed. They include a dramatic black-and-white marble backsplash in the kitchen and some quirky patterned tiling in the laundry room. Outside, her images captured the new swimming pool, which overlooks the lake and features a lavish spa. The photos revealed that the pool's foundation had been laid, the structure was almost complete, and it just needed an overhaul of the surrounding space—as well as some water to fill it. More recently, she shared another exciting update: the addition of grass at the front of the home. 'We have grass,' she said while sharing a photo of the lawn on her Instagram Stories, adding a shocked screaming emoji for emphasis. The photo also showed several brick planter beds filled with an array of foliage. The white exterior and black window frames could also be seen, with a flowering tree in the background. Though the grass might not mark the most significant progression in the homebuilding process, its arrival suggests that Biles and Owens' opulent new dwelling might be near completion, just in time for the latter to head to Chicago for preseason training. Owens is preparing to start his second season with the Bears, after signing a two-year contract in 2024. He started his NFL career with the Cardinals in 2018, before moving to the Houston Texans, where he was playing when he and Biles began dating. Though his football success has forced him to bounce around multiple locations over the past three years, Biles has remained his most avid supporter, regularly appearing on the sidelines of his games, more often than not sporting custom merch made in his honor. And it seems this season, she will take that support one step further, noting in May that she and Owens had found a home in Chicago, where they will likely base themselves during the season. In a post shared on her Instagram Stories at the time, Biles said the couple were busy shopping for new cars for their Chicago dwelling, although she gave no details about the property itself. 'Looking at cars today for our Chicago home,' she wrote over an image of the inside of a Porsche showroom. It is unclear if the couple have decided to put down permanent roots in the Windy City by buying a house or if they've opted to rent until the future of Owens' place on the team is confirmed. How Katy Perry Feels After Her Date With Justin Trudeau: It's 'Uncharted Territory'
THE RUNDOWN Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau went viral for their three-stop Montreal outing—a park walk, followed by dinner, and then drinks—a week ago. Today, a source told Us Weekly that yes, they were 'definitely on a date'—and that Trudeau and Perry had been in contact for weeks leading up to their rendezvous. The source explained that the relationship is new: '[The date] was casual. They had been in touch for the last month and have a few mutuals in the music industry.' (Trudeau's son, Xavier, is a rapper.) Still, the experience of dating again—particularly a former head of state—is 'uncharted territory' for Perry, who announced her split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom last month, after dating him since 2016. 'This is all new to her as she hasn't dated in so many years, and it's been exciting to put herself out there again,' the insider said. 'Katy is excited to move on but isn't looking for anything serious.' With her Lifetimes Tour ongoing, she 'doesn't have a lot of extra time right now' but still 'agreed to see' Trudeau during her break in Canada, the source noted. Multiple sources spoke to People this weekend about Trudeau and Perry's connection, noting the challenges they might face if they continue seeing each other. They have potential though, a Canadian source said: 'They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes. She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada. But there is an attraction—they have a lot in common.' 'Music is one of many things they can share,' the insider added, noting that they 'both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult.' But the obstacles facing their romance are very real, the source admitted: 'Their own personal responsibilities could make this relationship move slower than it would, but there are ways to see the other and still fulfill their parenting responsibilities [both Perry and Trudeau share children with their exes]. For one thing, they each have an ex. So, duties are split in half. And long-distance relationships, while still hard, are possible for these two.' A second Canadian source told the outlet that Trudeau is 'playing it low-key' on purpose as he and Perry figure out what's best for them. '[The] timing seems good for them, although a romance is in very early stages,' the insider said.
