Please accept my apologies if the following statement sounds repetitive. It has, without question, been described more than once on this platform by the same author. For the sake of argument, however, it certainly bears repeating because the disrespect tossed in the Philadelphia Eagles' direction has gone on long enough, especially that about Jalen Hurts and his skill set.
The disrespect has gone on long enough.
We have long gotten used to Chris Simms' diatribes. It's almost as if he would rather be stubborn. Cam Newton's recent take was a little more surprising, but again, criticism of Hurts isn't something we haven't heard before. At this point, it feels like he could win three Super Bowls and still wouldn't get his proper due.
But, not so fast, friends, as the great Lee Corso would say. Could we discuss some positive feedback about Jalen Hurts?

Take emotion out of the argument for a second if you knew nothing about Jalen Hurts and had only his resume to grade him on. Where would he stand when ranked among his peers?
He has won over 64% of his regular-season starts. He has won six of his nine postseason starts, including the most recent Super Bowl. He was the game's MVP last February. Twice, despite losing the first head-to-head matchup, he outplayed the greatest QB of our generation on football's biggest stage. He enters the current campaign as a champion.
Don't tell Hurts that. Those pretty Super Bowl rings that they just received? It appears Hurts won't be wearing his for a while. Scroll through some of those pictures of the celebration again. We have yet to find any flicks of Hurts wearing his ring. The message was loud and clear. He has turned the page and doesn't want any distractions or reminders of last year.

Following the Eagles' first training camp practice, he was asked about his experience of receiving some new hardware and his decision not to try it on when players were made available for the media.
"It was honestly surreal to see it in person. Almost, not nostalgic, but to see something that you've earned, have a moment to appreciate that one last time, (it was) kind of overdue, in terms of what it was supposed to be originally. It was a moment, and that moment's behind us.'
One last time? What does he mean by that? It appears we don't have to speculate about the answer.
"I've moved on to the new year. It's as simple as that... It's behind me"
Let's be honest. Who is shocked by that response?
It's year six for Jalen Hurts. He's a lot richer than when we first met him. He's older. He's wiser. He still has his supporters and his doubters, but he has beaten Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Matthew Stafford. Think about that.
Another Eagles season looms. There's another chance for Hurts to prove his mettle. Keep doubting him. You're going to wake up one day with him as league MVP.
