Texas A&M softball moves to 10-1 on the season after the Clearwater Invitational
No. 5 Texas A&M softball team had a good performance at the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational, going 4-1 and moving to 10-1 during non-conference play.
The Aggies started the tournament strong, outscoring their first two opponents 18-2. However, they suffered their first loss of the season to No. 10 Oklahoma State in frustrating fashion. Up 5-2 with two outs, the Cowgirls hit a double that scored two runs, followed by a walk-off home run to win 6-5 on day two of the Clearwater Invitational. Oklahoma State continued this trend by eventually walking off No. 12 Alabama in their final game of the tournament.
Despite the setback, Texas A&M bounced back to win their final two games, showcasing their resilience and determination. Softball is a game of failure, requiring players to work through challenges and figure out how to win the next at-bat or pitch. The Aggies have a deep team, but some of the clutch experience that helped them through rough patches was noticeably missed this weekend.
Head coach Trisha Ford understands that it's a work in progress, emphasizing that good teams make the necessary adjustments to win. The Aggies must develop the ability to bounce back and secure victories if they want to reach their potential for a successful season.
"I just told him like good teams make adjustments quicker and I didn't think we made our adjustments as quickly"
Below, you can view the best highlights from their game five win to close out the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational.
Texas A&M will travel to Tallahassee Fla., for game 1 against Florida A&M in the JoAnne Graf Classic on Friday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m. CST.

WATCH: Former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson shares why he wears No. 32
WATCH: Former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson shares why he wears No. 32 Buckeye Nation will always have fond memories of former running back TreVeyon Henderson. He came to Ohio State as the No. 1 running back in the country according to some recruiting services and quickly flashed on the scene, running for over 1,000 yards during his freshman campaing. He was besieged by nagging injuries the next two seasons but battled his way through it to still be a very productive back, and then finished things off last year by going over 1,000 yards again, all while splitting time with Ole Miss transfer running back Quinshon Judkins. It all culminated in taking home the first expanded 12-team College Football Playoff national championship. If you watched Ohio State the last four seasons, we don't have to tell you what number Henderson wore when toting the rock in the Scarlet and Gray. His No. 32 was very recognizable except for the times when he was a blur breaking off explosive plays out of the backfield. But did you know the reason he donned the No. 32, ever since he was basically in Pee-Wee football? Watch as Henderson explains why he wore his number of choice and continues to wear it with his new team, the New England Patriots. It has everything to do with his grandfather and honoring him. Henderson grew tremendously at Ohio State both on and off the field. He went from becoming an electric and fast runner to perhaps the best blocking back in the NFL draft. He also developed into a great option in the passing game out of the backfield. More than that, he became a leader because of his faith and growth as a person.
