Arizona Cardinals to face Carolina Panthers in home opener in Week 2

USA Today14-05-2025

Arizona Cardinals to face Carolina Panthers in home opener in Week 2 The Cardinals open the season with two consecutive games against the NFC South.
The Arizona Cardinals will release their full 2025 regular-season schedule at 5 p.m. Arizona Cardinals, but we have some information. We know they will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints.
It would appear they will have their home opener the very next week.
According to Johnny Venerable of PHNX, the Cardinals will host the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 for their home opener at State Farm Stadium.
It will be the second consecutive season the Cardinals have faced the Panthers and the sixth time in the last seven years. The Cardinals lost 36-30 in overtime last season in Carolina in December, which basically knocked the Cardinals out of postseason contention. They are 1-4 in the last five regular-season meetings with the Panthers.
With this information, we know three of the first four games of the season for Arizona. They will start off on the road against the Saints, then play the Panthers at home in Week 2. In Week 4, they host the Seattle Seahawks for a Thursday night game.
The full schedule will come out soon.

Panthers visit the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final with the series tied

EDMONTON, Alberta -- EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Leon Draisaitl scoring in overtime to tie the Stanley Cup Final for the Edmonton Oilers ensured the series against the Florida Panthers cannot be decided in Game 5 on Saturday night. Hockey's hallowed trophy will not yet be in the building. But it is guaranteed to be on Tuesday night back in Sunrise, making Game 5 another pivotal swing point in the NHL's championship series rematch. 'The team that can move on fastest is going to be have the best chance,' Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk said. 'The team that moves on from this and team that recovers the fastest is going to have the bigger advantage.' The coaches involved, Florida's Paul Maurice and Edmonton's Kris Knoblauch, don't believe much in game-to-game momentum, and that theory has played out so far. Draisaitl and Brad Marchand traded OT heroics in the first two, the Panthers won the next in a rout, and took a three-goal lead in Game 4 before the Oilers erased it and got another from Draisaitl to even things up. The Oilers are favored to go up 3-2 and are slightly favored to win it all, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. The Panthers have won 10 of the 11 playoff series they have been in over the past three years, including a year ago beating Edmonton in seven games in the final. This has been different but still feels like it could go the distance. 'It's two good teams, and they're equally matched and you're going to get some good hockey,' said 40-year-old Oilers winger Corey Perry, whose first intermission speech helped spark their Game 4 comeback. 'There are some superstars on both sides of the puck. It's fun to be a part of.'

UFL championship game where to watch: TV channel, start time, odds Show Caption Hide Caption Greg Olsen believes Travis Kelce 'controls how he leaves the game' Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen has high praise for Travis Kelce and shares when he believes Travis Kelce will eventually retire from the NFL. Sports Seriously The UFL is getting set to crown its champion for the 2025 season. For the first time since the USFL reboot in 2022, the Birmingham Stallions will not be playing for a spring-league title. Instead, the Michigan Panthers will represent the USFL conference, while the DC Defenders will look to give the XFL conference its first title since the 2024 UFL merger. The Panthers are fresh off a 44-29 win over the Stallions, a victory that showcased the team's well-rounded offense. All-UFL quarterback Bryce Perkins was efficient and explosive, completing 20 of 25 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown while also notching a key 29-yard scramble on a third-and-14 to keep a touchdown drive alive. Perkins' dynamism is complemented by the strong, downhill running of Toa Taua, who notched 85 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the Stallions. The Defenders will have to find a way to slow both the 5-8, 204-pound back and the dual-threat quarterback to avoid becoming embroiled in a shootout. DC turned in a terrific defensive showing against the Battlehawks. Blake Williams' defense flummoxed Max Duggan throughout the game, forcing five sacks, two fumbles and an interception and ultimately causing Anthony Becht to make a quarterback change at the start of the second half. Duggan only re-entered the game after backup Brandon Silvers was injured. Meanwhile, Jordan Ta'amu – who led the UFL with 17 touchdown passes in the regular season – will guide the league's most explosive passing attack. He will rely on veteran receivers like Cornell Powell, Chris Rowland and Jaydon Mickens to help the Defenders offense go blow-for-blow with the Panthers' league-best scoring unit.
