New Honda Electric Motorcycle Teased Ahead Of September 2 Debut

NDTV2 days ago
Honda is all set to unveil its new electric motorcycle on September 2. Before the official event, the Japanese manufacturer has released a teaser on its UK social media handle showing the new electric two-wheeler. However, the teaser doesn't reveal much, as the bike is covered in camouflage. However, it looks like a rather evolved form of the EV Fun Concept showcased by the brand at the EICMA 2024.
The teaser released by the manufacturer also gives a sneak peek at the TFT dash of the motorcycle along with the LED DRL, a design very similar to the EV Fun Concept. Other design details revealed by the teaser include a rather sharp design for the LED turn indicators and a short tail, hinting at a rather sporty design.
Looking at the mechanical side, the bike gets a single-sided swingarm, USD front forks, and a rear monoshock. Along with this, the bike gets large rear disc brakes and what seems like 17-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Rosso 3 tyres. Furthermore, the brand has revealed a humming sound that seems to be from the electric motor, confirming the bike's EV powertrain.
If the electric motorcycle proves to be a production version of the EV Fun Concept, it will feature a fixed battery setup. As revealed by the brand earlier, it will be equivalent to a 500 cc motorcycle, hence giving a similar performance. If so, it might also receive rider aid features and the necessary technology to support its performance, including elements such as ride modes, traction control, and more.
At the previous EICMA, Honda announced that the EV Fun Concept aims to provide quiet and vibration-free journeys. It incorporates a range of Honda's motorcycle technologies that enhance smooth turning and braking. The Concept features a CCS2 quick charger, adhering to the same standards utilized by cars. The cruising range for the EV Fun Concept was estimated to be approximately 100 km, which is adequate for urban requirements.

Yuva Nidhi registration surges to 8.3k in Dharwad dist

Hubballi: Registrations for the state govt's fifth guarantee scheme, 'Yuva Nidhi,' rose from 4,000 to 8,370 in a year, with around 6,951 beneficiaries receiving the amount. However, unemployment remains high, with about 8,003 job seekers registered with the department of industrial training and employment (DITE), seeking private sector jobs. Yuva Nidhi is one of the five guarantees made by the Congress-led state govt. The scheme offers a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 for graduates and Rs 1,500 for diploma holders. The programme was launched on Jan 12 in Shivamogga. It aimed to provide financial support to educated unemployed youth and the Yuva Nidhi Plus skill training programme. During the launch, 1,800 unemployed individuals were registered, but now the number has jumped to 8,370. The skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood department has launched Yuva Nidhi Plus to provide skill training for the beneficiaries. There are a total of 8,370 Yuva Nidhi beneficiaries in the district. However, only 142 of them have received training in skill-based courses. Counselling has been done for 3,543 beneficiaries. MM Kudaragond, assistant employment officer at the department of industrial training and employment, said that registration for employment is increasing. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Become Fluent in Any Language Talkpal AI Undo Approximately 8,003 job seekers are registered. Every day, around 5 to 10 will be registered. "We have created a WhatsApp group for intimation of job offers. The department has conducted job fairs. If any company asks for the list, then it will be provided," he said. Kudaragond said that registration for the Yojane is also increasing. Till now, 8,370 have been registered, and approximately 6,951 are receiving the amount. There are 6,780 degree and 171 diploma beneficiaries. The amount was credited till May. "Soon, the remaining two months will be credited," he informed. RP Dyaberi, district skill development officer, said that counselling has been done for 3,543 beneficiaries for skill training under Yuva Nidhi Plus. However, most of them are hesitant to get skill training. They have the misconception that if they get skill training, their unemployment allowance will be stopped. Even if they get trained here, the beneficiaries will get unemployment allowance for two years. "A target of skill training has been set for 734 beneficiaries in the district under Yuva Nidhi Plus, and 142 have received training. Awareness is being created so that all beneficiaries get training. However, most of them are not getting in touch. Many of those who have received skill training have got job opportunities. When compared to other districts, skill development training is being provided by renowned institutions in the district, and beneficiaries should take advantage of it," said Dyaberi. Clay Ganesh idols become dearer in Telangana ahead of Vinayaka Chavithi

Hyderabad: Amidst rising material costs pushing prices up by about 15%, the city's Ganesh idol makers are seeing a growing preference for eco-friendly clay idols among buyers. In Dhoolpet, the city's idol-making hub, artisans are reserving Plaster of Paris for larger idols, while taller models now often use a clay–PoP mix to balance demand for sustainability with structural stability. Vikas Singh, an artisan from Dhoolpet, said that the prices of smaller clay Ganesh idols have gone up more than those of the bigger ones, which increased by about 15%. 'Making smaller idols is actually more difficult and takes more time because of the detailing,' he explained. 'This year, we also had fewer pieces ready, so when demand went up, prices had to go up too. For example, a two-foot idol that was Rs 2,000 last year is now Rs 2,500. Virat, an artisan from Nanakramguda, told TOI, 'This year, demand rose sharply, and along with it, the cost of materials and workers' wages. As a result, prices of clay Ganesh idols have gone up noticeably. For instance, a 4 to 5-foot idol that sold for just over Rs 10,000 last year is now around Rs 12,000. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Japanese AI invention allows you to speak 68 languages instantly. The idea? Genius. Enence 2.0 Undo Even with the price hike, residents are continuing to choose eco-friendly clay idols in large numbers.' Shashidhar Neelkanth, another artisan from Dhoolpet, added how they are experimenting by mixing clay and PoP to make larger idols. 'It has been very difficult since PoP dries faster than clay, but this helps us stabilise prices by a bit.' He explained that they can use this method for idols above 10 feet. While residents' interest in clay idols has grown, especially for smaller sizes, many Dhoolpet artisans point out that Plaster of Paris (PoP) is still chosen by a section of buyers. 'Clay may be eco-friendly, but it's not artisan-friendly, and it's not suitable for making larger idols,' one artisan said. 'Many customers prefer clay, but the more particular buyers still choose PoP. That's why PoP can never completely disappear from the market.
