A 24-year-old suspect from Sudbury has been charged with stunt driving in Espanola through a community safety zone.
The incident took place Aug. 2 around 9:30 p.m. when Ontario Provincial Police received a traffic complaint about a driver on Highway 6.
'Police later located the vehicle driving 114 km/h in a 60 km/h community safety zone,' the OPP said in a news release Wednesday.
'A traffic stop was conducted, and upon approaching the driver, officers noticed open alcohol within the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.'
The Sudbury suspect was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, two counts each of stunt driving, driving with open liquor and driving with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Sept. 22.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in relation to two separate shooting incidents earlier this month. Prince Albert police say the arrest was made on Tuesday outside a business in the 800 block of 15th Street West. ADVERTISEMENT During the search, officers seized three grams of methamphetamine, 32 grams of cocaine, bear spray, $360 in Canadian currency, and other items consistent with drug trafficking. According to police the first shooting occurred on Aug. 3, in the 1600 block of 17th Street West where a 26-year-old man was injured. He was treated by Parkland Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The second shooting occurred on Aug. 12, in the South Hill area. Police say an officer noticed an injured 29-year-old man sitting in the middle of the road on 2nd Avenue West. Shortly after, the officer learned the man had an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. As a result of the investigation, the 19-year-old man has been charged possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, attempted murder, forcible confinement, and multiple other firearms related charges. The accused appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Wednesday morning.

Grey Bruce OPP are searching for a missing senior in the Bruce County area. 87-year-old Audrey has been missing since last Friday, Aug. 15, last seen in the Little Pike Bay area. She is described as 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, around 100 pounds, short grey hair, and glasses. She walks hunched over, according to OPP.
