In the unpredictable world of Bollywood, fame is always fleeting. While on one Friday, an actor would be hailed and winning hearts of the audience, the next Friday everything would change, and they might vanish into thin air like they never existed. In this industry, the career of a star changes every week; sometimes, even the biggest stars who have already gathered stardom with their previous work struggle to hold the audience's attention and can falter if their destiny doesn't align.
One such tale is of a film that featured Akshay Kumar in the lead. Directed by Ranjit M. Tiwari and produced by a team including Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikhil Advani, this film attempted to make a bold move by being the first major Bollywood star film to be released during the devastating time of the pandemic.
During the second wave of COVID-19, the film 'Bell Bottom' hit the theaters only to fail horribly at the box office. This spy thriller film was released on 19th August 2021. It was made on a whopping budget of Rs. 180 crores but it failed horribly at the box office, accounting a collection of just Rs. 2.75 crores, on its opening day and Rs. ₹30.63 crore in India and ₹50.58 crore worldwide, over its theatrical run, an unexpectedly low budget for a film featuring Bollywood's most hailed star.
Although the film was released during this time to reignite the struggling theatre business, its attempt went in disdain, making it a hard pill to swallow for Akshay Kumar fans.
Blending a mix of everything that accounts for a good film, the plot of the movie revolved around the real-life hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight in 1984. Akshay Kumar portrayed the character of a RAW agent who goes on a high-risk mission to rescue hostages. The film also featured a star-studded cast with Lara Dutta portraying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Vaani Kapoor playing the wife of the lead with Huma Qureshi, Adil Hussain, and Anirudh Dave in supporting roles.
Although the film wasn't received well at the box office, it is now streaming on Amazon Prime and has received a reasonable rating of 6.1 on IMDb.

Tired of too many ads? go ad free now According to documents accessed by real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix, the apartment is located on the 9th floor of Supreme Boulevard, a premium residential project by developer Supreme Universal. The property offers a carpet area of 938 sq ft and was officially registered on July 2, 2025. Shweta Tripathi paid a stamp duty of Rs 15 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000 to seal the deal. Interestingly, documents show that Shweta Tripathi benefited from the stamp duty concession offered by the Maharashtra government to promote female homeownership. As part of the deal, she also secured two dedicated parking spots, with the per square foot rate for the apartment coming in at around Rs 32,000. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, Shweta Tripathi and Supreme Universal did not respond to queries at the time of publishing. This article will be updated if and when a response is received. Shweta Tripathi shot to fame with her portrayal of Gajgamini 'Golu' Gupta in Mirzapur, the Amazon Prime Video crime thriller that debuted in 2018. A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) with a degree in Fashion Communication, she began her career behind the camera before transitioning into acting. Shweta Tripathi's breakthrough came with Neeraj Ghaywan's critically acclaimed Masaan (2015). She went on to deliver noteworthy performances in films like Haraamkhor, Gone Kesh, and Cargo. In 2025, she ventured into production, announcing her debut as a producer with a clear intent to support bold, unconventional storytelling. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Chembur has emerged as a real estate hotspot in recent years, drawing attention with major developments by Godrej Properties—most notably the acquisition of the iconic Studio and Bungalow. Adding to the area's rising profile, the Supreme Boulevard project, where Shweta Tripathi's new home is located, has been built on land formerly owned by the Kapoor family, further boosting its prestige.
