EA Sports College Football 26 cover athletes revealed as game inches closer to summer release date

Yahoo27-05-2025
After a successful re-introduction into the gaming world, EA Sports College Football is coming back for the 2026 season. That was expected after the game put up excellent reviews and big sale numbers after it returned after a decade-long absence in 2025.
What fans didn't know, however, was which athletes would grace the cover of EA Sports College Football 26. They got that answer Tuesday, as EA Sports announced Alabama wideout Ryan Williams and Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith will grace the cover of the standard edition of the game.
Both players will also appear front and center on the deluxe edition cover, but they'll be surrounded by various other players, coaches, mascots and college-football legends.

Urban Meyer Names Three Recruits Who Got Away

Urban Meyer Names Three Recruits Who Got Away originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer coached some high-quality talent during his career on the sidelines. At Florida, he had the privilege of coaching the likes of 2007 Heisman winner Tim Tebow and receiver Percy Harvin. With Ohio State, players like Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Thomas, Joey Bosa and Nick Bosa came through Columbus. On a recent episode of "The Triple Option," Meyer revealed he wanted to land safety Jabrill Peppers, cornerback Patrick Peterson and running back CJ Spiller as recruits. Peppers played for the Michigan Wolverines while Meyer was at Ohio State (2012-18), and Peterson was with the LSU Tigers and Spiller with the Clemson Tigers during his Florida tenure (2005-2010). "I'll give you 100 players," Meyer joked. "You know, you talk about the Wolverines. Jabrill Peppers, I wanted him bad. I thought he was a great player. The one that I would say is probably Patrick Peterson at Florida. I had him. I think he's gonna be a Hall of Famer. And the other one is CJ Spiller. 25 miles from The Swamp. I love that kid, and we're still friends to this day. If the Gators would have got that cat back in the 07-'08 era, it wouldn't have been fair." Meyer's last year coaching in the college world was in 2018, but he would have no doubt loved to coach Texas Longhorns star Arch Manning. Meyer believed Manning is the quarterback under the most pressure in recent memory. Manning is set to face Meyer's old team, Ohio State, in Texas' season opener on August 30. Before Florida and Ohio State, Meyer had a brief stint in the Pac-12, which now has two teams as members ahead of the 2025 season. He coached the Utah Utes from 2003-04 and lost just two games. He praised the conference for continuing to add programs and attempting to stay relevant. The conference will feature the Texas State Bobcats, Fresno State Bulldogs, San Diego State Aztecs, Utah State Aggies, Boise State Broncos, Colorado State Rams, Washington State Cougars, and Oregon State Beavers. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are also joining, but will be a basketball-only story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 10, 2025, where it first appeared.
