Speaking in her BBC documentary Strictly Amy: Cancer And Me, she said: 'At the beginning of 2023 I felt like everything I'd ever hoped for was falling into place.
'Ben and I got married, I was teaching at the dance school, I was going to be back on Strictly and all of a sudden my everyday life changed.
'To be 32 with breast cancer, you're thinking, 'This doesn't look good — the outlook doesn't look good'.

'I just knew, I felt sick to my stomach.
'I saw the doctor, and he told me they'd found something. I said, 'Is it cancer?' and he said, 'Yes'.

Loose Women's Saira Khan says she feels like she's 'losing the plot' in honest update

Saira Khan, 55, said that sometimes it all feels 'like it's too much' in a post to fans Saira Khan has shared the struggles that have left her feeling like a 'dishevelled mess' in a candid social media post. While the TV star said her hormones might be at play, she stressed that life often feels too 'overwhelming'. ‌ Posting to Instagram yesterday, the ex-Loose Women star said: "This rant is for any woman, a mother, who works or runs her own business, is going through hormonal change, and just feels like it's too much. It's overwhelming. ‌ "And people just don't understand the f***ing effort that you put into every day and people go, 'It's brain fog'. I'm not f***ng surprised it's brain fog because my brain is thinking about the dogs, the washing up, the cooking, the cleaning, the work that I've got to do. ‌ "And then I'm thinking about the next day and it's like, I'm not saying that it's just us women that do that, but it does feel like in my household, and in many households up and down this country, if you are a strong driven woman, they pile it on." Now 55, Saira said she's taking HRT to balance her hormones, but isn't having too much success thus far. She acknowledged this as an 'underlying irritation' but also said the people around her just aren't helping enough. ‌ She explained: "And then on top of that, we're going to a festival, they're all upstairs getting ready, the dog hasn't been fed, the dog hasn't been walked, the washing's still in, things haven't been put away. "The f***ing bins are overflowing. We are going away for four days, right? I don't want to come back to a f***ing s***hole. And then I'm running a business, which I love, it's my passion, but it's in a growth spurt. So, I'm like, I've got to also be thinking about that, trying to work at the same time." Worried she's 'losing the plot', Saira told her family to go to the festival without her so she could spend some time alone before joining them. She asked her fans if they had ever experienced something similar. ‌ "The biggest rant EVER of a middle-aged working mum," Saira added in the post's caption. "If anyone else feels the same way, please let me know because I feel like it is just me having these episodes where I just cannot cope with the reconsideration! I look like a state…. But that's what I'm driven to… a dishevelled mess!" ‌ Saira's post was quickly flooded with comments from fans, many of whom also empathised with the challenges women face in households. One person wrote: "OMG Saira you just described my life!! I feel your pain." Meanwhile, another added: "I feel exactly the same and I don't have as much on my plate as you." Someone else also added: "This has been me today! "Why are there three of us in this house, but I am the only one: washing, cleansing, arranging the meals, doing the shopping, worrying about school uniforms and play dates and holiday clubs and birthday presents and holidays and the dog and myself and the car and and and and AND!!"

TV tonight: Sam Clafin and Jeremy Irons star in a swashbuckling new period drama

9pm, U&Drama Sam Claflin and Jeremy Irons star in a new epic adaptation of the swashbuckling story by Alexandre Dumas. Edmond Dantès (Claflin) is a young sailor returning to Marseille to marry love of his life Mércèdes (Ana Girardot). But he has ruffled the feathers of two peers, who conspire to get him locked up in an island prison ('No one leaves there alive'). However, Edmond meets Abbé Faria (Irons) who will help him to escape 15 years later and claim his revenge. HR 6.50pm, BBC Two 'Dah, dah, dah, dahhhh!' Those unmistakable notes open Beethoven's Fifth in this Prom, which is performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev. Before that, though, French pianist Alexandre Kantorow – who played at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony – delivers Saint-Saëns' 'Egyptian' piano concerto. HR 9pm, Sky Documentaries The original Piano Man looks back on a rollercoaster life and career in this two-part profile, which has gained extra poignancy after the 76-year-old's recent brain disorder diagnosis. As well as Joel himself, Springsteen, McCartney, Pink and Nas weigh in on his legacy. Concludes Sunday. Graeme Virtue 9.10pm, BBC One Although this Glasgow-set series (first shown on U&Alibi) frequently teeters into cop show cliche, Nicola Walker's socially awkward detective Annika Strandhed lends it a quirky edge. She's got her work cut out for her as series two begins, with a gnarly drowning video and a victim who was last seen 'pished and mouthy'. Hannah J Davies 9.10pm, Channel 4 Griff Rhys Jones travels from the Atlantic to the Gulf and takes in all the US deep south has to offer en route. First up, in Tennessee he learns how a dam created in the 30s helped to forge the atomic bomb. Then, in Nashville, it's all about the music and dancing. HR 11.35pm, ITV1 Katherine begins doubting Martin – the one person she thought she could rely on, while Eddie claims he's secretly working for her, in the penultimate episode. Meanwhile, there's a tense showdown and a bombshell, before things get really messy. Ali Catterall The Thicket, 9.20am, 6.05pm, Sky Cinema Premiere Peter Dinklage heads up this impressively bleak neo-western, as a bounty hunter on the trail of a kidnapped girl. Ostensibly in the same redemptive vein as The Searchers, it's closer in flinty spirit to something like The Revenant. His high body count decorating the snowy wilderness, Dinklage is as formidable as usual – but almost outmatched by Juliette Lewis as Cut Throat Bill, the misleadingly named varmint he's pursuing. Director Elliott Lester goes in hard on seedy saloon atmospherics and a Darwinian survivalist vibe. Phil Hoad International Rugby Union: Australia v British & Irish Lions, 9.30am, Sky Sports Main Event The final Test from Sydney, with Lions captain Maro Itoje (pictured above) aiming for a 3-0 series win.
